Addie Joss pitched 9 strong innings as the Grand River Ghostmen defeated the Bat Cracking Bombers by a score of 7 to 0 at Yankee Stadium. Grand River did all the necessary damage in the 7th inning as they showed no mercy on Bat Cracking blasting them for 6 hits and plating 7 runs. The crucial at-bat was provided by Billy Williams who thrilled the crowd when he blasted a two-run home run (his 5th of the season). Grand River had a total of 10 hits for the game. For Joss(9-6) it was his 4th shutout this year. Christy Mathewson(13-9) was given the loss. 'Joss was the man tonight,' Buck Guthrie said. 'He had just about every pitch working.' |
