Stargell had a big evening at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 35th of the season) in the 8th inning. Brentwood rapped out 12 hits for the night. Ryan(13-7) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Jake Weimer(10-7) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 7 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Ryan - except Bat Cracking. Bat Cracking's manager lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!' |
