Hal Trosky smacked 2 homeruns as the Limerick Hurlers beat the Grand River
Ghostmen by a score of 8 to 7.

Trosky punished Grand River with his bat. He cracked a two-run shot in the
2nd inning and emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 10th of the
season) in the 5th inning. Grand River made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.

The winning pitcher was Tiny Bonham(1-0) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings. Dick Hall gained credit for his 7th save. Dazzy Vance(6-10) was the
loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 8 hits and 2 walks in
4 innings.

'Some losses are harder to take than others' Buck Guthrie lamented after the
