WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: Roy Campanella blocked the plate, saving a run!
Top 5th: Kiki Cuyler robbed Roy Campanella of an extra base hit.

It was a wild evening in SAFECO Field where the Hinckley Buzzards defeated the
Kelso Hilanders by the score of 16 to 10.

Hinckley brought 8 runs across the plate in the top of the 5th inning with the
help of 9 hits.  The highlight belonged to Luis Aparicio who silenced the
crowd when he belted a three-run homer (his 1st of the season).  Hinckley
bats were hot in the 5th inning with 8 runs on 9 hits and the 9th inning when
they had 4 runs on 3 hits.  Kelso was not lacking for run support as they
scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed to
forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.

The victory went to Kent Tekulve(4-4) who went 1 inning, allowing 2 runs.
Mickey Welch(5-13) was given the loss.  He was knocked around by Hinckley,
allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
