WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Ken Williams robbed Roberto Clemente of an extra base hit.

Cap Anson had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Kelso Hilanders pulled out a win
over the Athens Bobkittens by a score of 4 to 3 at SAFECO Field.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Joe Sewell lined a
single.  Wills was safe on a stolen base.  After an out was recorded, Kelso
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base.  Sam Crawford
stepped in and he drew a walk.  Kelso got their 2nd stolen base of the
inning.  Pie Traynor kept things alive and would hit into a fielders choice
giving Kelso the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Kelso and
Athens each finished the afternoon with 10 hits.

Dan Quisenberry(1-1) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Carl
Mays(8-12) was the loser in relief.  He gave up 2 runs and 3 hits in 1 and

1/3 innings.
