In a thriller the Limerick Hurlers staged a dramatic comeback then held on to

Limerick won the game with a rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.
Barry Bonds kicked off the action when he reached on an error.  Mel Ott next
to the plate and he drew a walk.  Ott got a great jump and stole second
easily.  Hal Trosky was up next and he doubled which was good for two runs.
Limerick finished with 12 hits in the victory.

Wilbur Cooper(4-2) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Cooper got help
from Lady Baldwin who earned his 6th save.  Jeff Reardon(1-4) was charged
with the loss in relief.

Jimmy Dugan was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win it
in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up.  And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
