Brentwood had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. Banks led off and started the attack as he tripled. Johnny Bench came next and he would hit into a fielders choice plating a run. Sammy Sosa then drew a walk. Charlie Gehringer was up next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. John McGraw stepped into the box and slapped a single making Brentwood victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Brentwood out-hit Hinckley for the game, 7 hits to 4. John Franco(6-3) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Rollie Fingers(3-5) was the loser in relief. Brentwood's manager was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on.
