Ernie Banks slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at Tiger Stadium as the Brentwood
Bearcats came back dramatically to top the lifeless Hinckley Buzzards by the
score of 5 to 4.

Brentwood had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
on 2 hits.  Banks led off and started the attack as he tripled.  Johnny Bench
came next and he would hit into a fielders choice plating a run.  Sammy Sosa
then drew a walk.  Charlie Gehringer was up next and he laid down a sacrifice
bunt.  John McGraw stepped into the box and slapped a single making Brentwood
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Brentwood out-hit
Hinckley for the game, 7 hits to 4.

John Franco(6-3) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Rollie
Fingers(3-5) was the loser in relief.  Brentwood's manager was all smiles
after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but
our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on.
What a sweet win!'
