Old Brooklyn fans certainly got their money's worth at League Park. Three Finger Brown(8-6) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Athens Bobkittens toppled the Old Brooklyn Bombers 5 to 0. Brown had his best stuff and was 'painting the black' with every pitch. A beautiful game to watch. He walked 3 Old Brooklyn batters. The Athens players and coaches started to leave Brown alone with his thoughts after the game reached the 7th inning. By the time the 9th inning rolled around, you could hear a pin drop every time he went to his wind-up - and an explosion after every out. Athens managed 11 in their victory. Addie Joss(6-5) was the losing pitcher. What a show!' Athens' manager said. 'Brown was great out there -- I'm happy that he got it.' |
