So It Begins Nightmares

So it Begins

It was a Halloween night, like any other night, when a boy, Michael, was frightening infants away as he walked home with his best friend, Blare. As they walked along the path beside the woods Michael asked Blare "Why don't we take the shortcut?". "I don't know," Blare replied "I've heard some pretty gross stories about a ghost who slices your head off and throws it into the street". "C'mon Blare, what are you, chicken?" Michael teased. "No I'm not, fine I'll go!" Blare scolded. Slowly, they creped into the dark woods.

When they entered the woods, they both felt chills go down their spine. The wood was cold and haunting. Out of nowhere, they heard the faint sound of footsteps. "Do you hear that Michael?", Blare asked in a weak voice. "Yea," Michael replied "it sounded like someone is following us!". They hurried through the woods as fast as they could. "I told you we shouldn't have come out here!" Blared boasted while trying to catch her breath. When she got the energy to look up at Michael, he had disappeared. "Michael, where are you!?" Blare cried out, "This isn't funny!". After waiting 5 minutes for an answer, she decided to journey straight. After coming to a large clearing in the center of the woods, she found a path that followed to an decade house with a graveyard along its side. "Maybe this is where Michael ended up." Blare encouraged herself. She quietly approached the house and knocked on the door. A pale, old man opened the door and sternly asked "Yes?", as if he struggled with the word. "I, I, I'm looking for my friend. By any chance have you killed, I mean seen him?" Blare guestioned. "No, but a storm is brewing and you are welcomed to come inside, I have enough soup for two" the man proposed. "No, that's alright. I really should be going anyway" Blare replied. He looked disappointed at her, but angry at the same time.  Suddenly, her mind went blank. Powerlessly, she walked through the door.

When she went in the man stated, "Go wait in the parlor and warm up by the fire while I get you something to eat ." She nodded her head and entered the parlor. When she looked around on the walls she saw paintings that seemed to stare into her soul. At that moment she knew she had to get out of there. As quiet as she could, she tip toed to the front door and slipped out.

When she got outside, she ran as fast as she possibly could. Stopping in her tracks, it felt as if the house was calling her back.  Silently, her legs brought her back to the house. As she looked around, she saw a figure of a boy in the graveyard. She got closer to the gate and looked harder, it was Michael! Quickly opening the graveyard gates, she ran in after him.

"Michael, thank god its you, for a moment there I thought you where gone for good." Blare cried "What happened?"."Well I started running and the next thing I knew I was here" Michael replied. "Lets get out of here!" Blare said eagerly. They began to walk out when a dark mist covered the entire graveyard. "Where are you?" Blare guestioned, there was no answer. The mist mysteriously vanished as Blare looked around. Again, Michael was no where to be found. Blare was so frightened her worries of Michael's whereabouts didn't matter anymore, she just started to run. While she ran she repeated to herself over and over, "Michael will be ok, he can take care of himself". Suddenly, she came upon the edge of a large grave opening which to her looked bottomless! She stumbled in and let out a spine chilling scream.

She woke up by the sound of the phone ringing. "Hello?" Blare answered. "Is this Blare Hazelwood?" a women asked in a weak voice. "Yes, this is Blare" Blare replied.  "We are sorry to inform you that Michael Helms disappeared tonight and no one knows where he is." the woman said.

I am the gate guardian of this realm, do you wish to return home?
