Subject: tadpoles Date: Mon, 31 Jul 2000 09:20:20 -0400 From: Michael Berezowsky Organization: Adventures in Staging To: Dana Kinsman I contacted your office a month ago but I believe you were unavailable at the time. This is in regards to a tadpole infestation at stormy lake. Various cottagers are becoming concerned, as am I. The lake bottom is clearing up somewhat, (near the infested shoreline) less of the algea we have come to expect, there seems to be a 5 to 10% die-off rate at this time and the smell is unpleasant. There must be many hundreds of pounds of tadpoles around the lake and if they all die off in the lake we cannot imagine what the water quality will be.... This is affecting the swimmers already, as dead tadpoles make strange swim-buddies. The best time to view tadpoles seems to be at about 3-5pm on a sunny day, they do disperse at sundown and return the next day. (except for the dead and dying) please contact me, Michael Berezowsky at 705-447-3139 if and when you have any information or solutions or if you are coming to inspect. I expect to be at the cottage for a few weeks.
