Neon Sign Transformers
Three 15,000 volt / 30 mA neon sign transformers power this coil.  They are wired in parallel to produce a total of 90mA of current.  At the time the coil was first completed, only 2 NST's were employed.  I added  the third later on, and it greatly improved the overall spark output of the coil.  The streamers are hotter and longer than that of just two NST's.
All high voltage connections are made with Belden 18 AWG gauge, 40,000 volt rated wire.  This is the same stuff used on cathode ray tubes in televisions and computer monitors.
With the addition of the third NST (the white one on the right), additional power factor correction caps were required.  They are mounted to the right of the NST.
