Molly moves to South Bend

Football league filling up; draft day on horizon

Busy summer ends

Augusta, so Judy and Mick are getting used to the sound of silence on 16th  Avenue. "Mick and I are adjusting to the empty nest," Judy says.
   For the moment, they probably are enjoying it: They just finished a full summer of  travel, first to Quebec -- "It was just super," Judy says--  then to Sarasota, Fla., to visit the Hannas and Grandma.
   "Grandma looked good," Judy says. "She was her jolly self and really enjoyed being with all of us. It was tough to leave after such a great visit."

COVINGTON -- The  family fantasy football league is filling up fast, and that means draft day is around the corner.
   Because, as Bobby pointed out, the NFL season starts in five days, the draft status of the league has been changed to "ready." Draft day will take place within the next 72 hours, but an exact time has not been assigned. This space will be updated when a date is assigned.
   So far, eight teams have signed up to play. They are:
> Georgia Peaches, managed by Judy.
> BludUndEisen, managed by Bobby.
> strangebrew, managed by Betsy and Shane.
> Big Bad Mamas, managed by Lanie.
> Wolfpack, managed by Liz.
> charioteers, managed by Robby and Magdi.
>The A-Team, managed by Mike Scott.
> MikefromND, managed by, um, Mike from ND.
   Anyone else who intends to join should do so immediately.

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Well, the Walshes have made an even swap with the priests of Notre Dame: Mike has graduated and returned to Georgia, but Molly is now one of the newest residents of South Bend, Ind.
   She took up residence there a little more than a week ago, Judy wrote in a recent e-mail. "She lives in the shadow of the Golden Dome and has a dorm that looks out over beautiful St. Joseph's Lake," Judy says.

   She won't be entirely without familiar faces, though. Mike will return to his old stomping grounds for the Irish's game against Texas A&M in just a few weeks..

Katy returns to form in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- It seems that a summer on the copy desk of a big-city daily newspaper has done nothing to calm Katy's desire to be a reporter.
   In Missouri for just a couple of weeks, she already has a couple of bylines to her name, one of which, about racial profiling, can be viewed at Misouri Digital News.
