COLUMBUS, Ga. -- The birthday season continues. Will recently celebrated his first with the gang in Columbus (naturally). On hand were lots of Mark's relatives, who made the trek from Atlanta to celebrate. Judy said Will showed a special affinity for a gift given to him by his balding grandfather. "Perhaps," she wrote, "his favorite gift was a sandbox from Poppy -- aka Ken. He -- Will, not Ken -- is walking now and cute as can be!!" Jennifer decided on a construction theme for the birthday party, and she decorated accordingly: caution tape and actual blinking yellow lights. "She had a great teacher in Kathy for making birthdays special," wrote Judy. Next on the list of birthdays is Sherry, who turns 55 today, Feb. 28, and Katy, who will be 11 on March 13.
CAMPAIGN TRAIL COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Katy recently hit a trifecta of American politics. Fresh off attending speeches by Bill Clinton and presidential candidate Bill Bradley, last week she rubbed elbows with GOP hopeful George W. Bush. especially after getting lost in "the worst neigh-borhood in the country" on the way to the rally. "I still feel dirty," she wrote. All she needs now are sightings of Al Gore, John McCain and Alan Keyes to make her scrapbook complete. Her adventures continued when she got home; she covered a murder for the paper -- on deadline no less. Read it online by clicking here.
CAMPUS VISIT MOBILE, Ala. -- Molly is continuing her search for a college to match her intellect. She, accompanied by Mick and Judy, recently visited the campus of Spring Hill College. Molly "thought it was nice," but no decision has been made. "(But) Mick and Judy were so impressed by one Jesuit preist's presentation," Judy wrote, "that the two of
them have decided to enroll this fall!"
BACK IN D.C. WASHINGTON -- Katy's not alone in her mingling with the power set. Liz also has had her share recently of brushes with greatness. While on her recent trip to the nation's capital, she chatted with Blue Dog artist George Rodrigue, "who confided he REALLY does not like dogs," she said. She also brushed past famed criminal defense attorney Barry Scheck -- who last month played a critical role in freeing a Houma man wrongfully covicted 19 years ago. Another highlight: She mistook a mouthful of green shampoo for mouth-wash. Suffice it to say it was not minty fresh.
