Wisper? Wispur? Whispur? Wissper?

SLIDELL -- Forget Webster's; there's a new spelling authority in town, and her name happens to be Kelly.
   Kelly recent earned first-place honors in the spelling bee at her school, Our Lady of Lourdes. The winning word? Whisper.
   In addition to having the satisfaction of a job well done, Kelly gets the distinct privledge (is that spelled right?) of representing her class in the schoolwide competition.
   The victory earned praise from one notable source: her father, who admitted he would have had trouble with the winning word.
   "The again, I are an ingeneer," Bob wrote in a recent e-mail. "We're not relly nown four hour spellin."
   Drop in at the Message Board and offer congrats.

COLLEGE HUNT
 
COLUMBUS -- Of course, Kelly isn't the only academic in the family. The Walshes have been scouring the country to see which univeristy will get the honor of boasting a Walsh in their ranks.
   First there's Molly, who has sent out applications
and is already starting to see letters of acceptance.
   "We're beating a path to the mailbox every day," says Judy.

the second time Katy will have had contact with Clinton; she videotaped herself shaking the president's hand four years ago during a campaign stop in New Orleans.
   The assignment capped a big week for Katy. In this week's edition of The Maneater, she has a byline on the cover story, as well as an editorial. Both are on the topic of sexual preferences.
