.... WITH HIS TEETH, DEAR: During a recent trip to the Aquarium of the Americas, Sam got an up-close look at a nurse shark. Here, he is shown fearlessly petting the toothy critter. (Photo by Mike)

There's a new game in town: Survivor II
COVINGTON, La. -- Presumably in an effort to avoid suffering withdrawal after the end of the fantasy
football
season,
family
members
signed up
en masse to participate in the newest online fantasy game: Survivor.
In it, participants wager points as they try to predict which member of the popular reality-based show will get "kicked off the island" each week.
Eleven teams have signed up at this point, and so far, the fantasy football champion,
Bobby, is holding an early lead. He earned 75 points in the first two weeks of the 13-week competition.

Liz, with 65 points, is close behind in second place, which surprised even her. When told she surged ahead of Lesley and Sherry to take sole possession of second place, Bobby reports that she replied: "I did well? ... I may play the entire game without ever watching the show."
'Mad Mick' scores interview with 'Mad Max'

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- It's not every day that you get to interview one of the beautiful people, but that's just what happened to Mick recently.
Aided by waitress at an area restaurant at which Mel Gibson was dining, Mick scored a face-to-face interview with the star of such movies as "Lethal Weapon" and "Road Warrior."
Gibson was in town filming his latest movie. Much of the production is based in Fort Benning.

George W. Bush is sworn in as president.
__________________
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- When most people go away to college, they just study history. Not  Molly; she witnessed it.
As George W. Bush was sworn in as the nation's 43rd president Jan. 9, Molly was in the nation's capital to see it.
"It started off Friday night when a group of Notre Dame students loaded seven chartered buses and headed for Washington, D.C.," she wrote in a recent e-mail. "We drove all  night and arrived around 9 in Virginia, which was just enough time to change
clothes and take a Metro to the city. After passing through many metal detectors, we got
to the Captitol in time to see George W. Bush get sworn into office. Even with the multitude of people, we were able to see the Capitol, and with
the help of TV's around the grounds showing the inauguration, I knew exactly what was going on."
On the day after the big event, she visited a friend in Baltimore and attended Mass at the national shrine.  "And if
the inauguration wasn't impressive enough for me, this was also the longest Mass I'd
ever been to: a nice two-and-a-half hours," she said.
To cap off the trip, she took part in a pro-life march from the Washington Monument to the Supreme Court building, part of a group that was 100,000 strong.
"Overall," she said, "the weekend was awesome and well worth the travel."
