Grading Policy: Your grade is based on the sum of the following percentages:
Homework 20%, Notebook/Journal 10%-which includes Quiz Log 4%, Class Rules 2%, and Notes and Stories 4%,Tests/Quizzes 40%, Class work 20%, Participation 5%, and Final Exam 5%.
This total percent will determine the following letter grade:
94-100 A 90-93 A- 87-89 B+ 83-86 B 80-82 B- 77-79 C+
73-76 C 70-72 C- 63-69 D+ 57-62 D 50-56 D 0-49 F
Your choice in High School courses of Science and Foreign Language may be dependent on your Mathematics grade.
Supplies :
Each student must come to class prepared to work on a daily basis. Recommended are two #2 or mechanical pencils, lined paper, ruler, agenda, notebook/journal, and a set of coloring pencils. Only work completed in pencil may be accepted.
Discipline Procedures :
The classroom rules and expectations are displayed around the room. If you choose to break the rules then you choose the following consequences:
Citizenship Mark:
1St Name on the board: Last out of the class
2nd Writing the offended rule twenty-five times or a discipline worksheet A demotion of your Citizenship mark as follows: #1- O, #2-3 S, #4-5 N, #6 U.You cannot earn back citizenship marks.
3rd Detention will be assigned for 15 minutes and served within 2 days. Home notification..
Work Habits Mark:
Students not having their daily Agenda, Notebook/Journal, supplies, or assigned work affects their class work/Participation credits. Work Habits mark can corrdinate with letter grades such as: A=O, B/C=S, D=N, F=U.
Assignments :
Homework/Notebook: Homework and notes are assigned daily to reinforce concepts and skills. Each week an �Assignment Check� will be given covering selected completed homework problems.
Quizzes/Tests: Quizzes and tests will be given for each standard. Talking during either results in a zero grade and parental contact.
It is a student�s responsibility to make-up any incomplete assignments, quizzes, or tests during non class time.
Classroom Rules :
1. I will not leave the class without permission.
2. I will be in my assigned seat at the bell.
3. Horseplay, pushing, running, and hitting others is not tolerated.
4. I am responsible for my own behavior.
5. I will not yell, scream, or shout.
6. I will respect the feelings, belongings, and differences of others.
7. I will listen attentively and not talk when the teacher is talking.
8. I understand that inappropriate language and unsuitable comments are not tolerated.
9. I will be dismissed when quiet, seated, and my area is clean.
