Dating Patterns Analysis

The truth about you

Explanation of tables

The tables below have five columns:
  1. Column 1 identifies which quality or characteristic we're talking about, e.g. attractiveness, height, intelligence, etc.
  2. Column 2 provides a graphical representation of the coefficient of correlation between that quality and 'overall happiness' (see next item).
  3. Column 3 shows the numerical value (the r value) of the coefficient of correlation between the quality and 'overall happiness'. The correlation coefficient varies from a high of 1 for a perfect positive correlation to a low of -1 for a perfect negative correlation. If the r value is:
    • positive then your overall satisfaction increases the more your date has that quality;
    • negative then your satisfaction decreases the more your date has that quality;
    • 0 then there is no relationship between that quality and overall satisfaction.
    The bigger the r value (in absolute terms, i.e. .9 is bigger than .5 and -.9 is 'bigger' than -.5), the greater the impact of that quality on your overall satisfaction. Strong correlations are probably a good indicator that certain factors are important to you (people you date should definitely have or not have these qualities). Weak correlations probably mean that those factors aren't especially important to you. The more dates you rated (see below), the more reliable the analysis.
  4. Column 4 shows the number of dates you rated on that quality. For example, if you rated 5 people, then this number should always be 5. If it is less than the number of dates you rated, you probably accidentally skipped that quality for one or more dates.
    Note: If you failed to select an 'Overall happiness' value for a person, that person's ratings were entirely discarded. Sorry, but we can't do the analysis without it.
  5. Column 5 shows the average rating you gave your dates for that quality.
Now let's look at the specifics.

If you're surprised . . .

The Dating Patterns Analyzer is a dispassionate observer that simply organizes the information you give it and reports back the results. If it said you should seek certain qualities in a date,it is because your Overall Happiness ratings were higher when your dates had those qualities. If it said you should avoid people with certain characteristics, it is because the more your dates had those qualities, the less happy you were.

It is true that individual characteristics may be correlated by chance, especially if the number of dates you rated is small. For example, suppose you submit information about three dates and the Analyzer reports a strong association between your overall happiness and 'Sensual'. It could be that the correlation is spurious, that it is merely coincidence that you were happier with taller (or shorter) dates.

But it is unlikely that, taken together, the results reported by the Analyzer are the work of chance alone. Before you dismiss characteristics as irrelevant, give the matter some consideration. It may be that what you think works for you is not in fact what does work for you. " //bodyText+="

So who's best for me?

We are often asked 'which one of the dates I rated is the most suitable for me?' Webelieve in whatever makes you happy, and so on that basis, the date(s) who are best for you are the ones whoreceived your highest 'Overall happiness' rating.

DateRating
" //bodyText+="nd" //bodyText+="8

Your highest 'Overall happiness' rating is " //bodyText+="8" //bodyText+=" on a scale of 0 to 9.That's not perfect happiness, but pretty good, all in all. Still, it's your decision if you want to keep looking." bodyText+="

Good luck, and thanks for using the Dating Patterns Analyzer.
