Personal: The original idea to adopt from China stems in large part from Terry's long-time personal and professional involvement in Chinese stuff (as Chinese historian, government analyst, and now as head of a university Asia program). But Kari has now made her first trip to China, found it fascinating, and started to explore collaborations there in her own field (smoking cessation). Our hope is to raise our child to be bilingual, understand two cultures, and be able to stand all the Chinese paintings that clutter our house. |
