Personal: Hi. My name is Tammi Smith and I am 35 (36 in the summer of '00). I have been thinking and researching international adoption for the past two years. I have always been drawn to China, and have never really considered another country. I can't really tell you why. It just seems the most natural of places for me. That is where my daughter is, as corny as that may sound. I am single and this will be my first child. |

I officially started the process on January 10, 2000, with the filing of my I600A with the INS. I applied to my agency the next day and was accepted the day after that. The next four months were a relatively smooth paperchase. My dossier was sent to China on May 4, and was logged in sometime around the 15th of the month. I have requested a healthy infant, 0-6 months, as young as possible. |

This has been such a wonderful experience so far. I am so looking forward to being united with my daughter. I already look at things in a new light, excited to share life with my child. |
