The Green Man

we all have our dreams
the cruel fantasies that we play out in our minds
believing with all that we are
that they will never have power
but dreaming that they could
nonetheless
would we stop the cruel dreams
if ever we thought that they could
manifest themselves
come into being
robbing us of all control in the end?
could we stop our lust for revenge
if it could be real?
or is it in our nature
to want to hurt those who've hurt us
regardless of the consequences?
maybe if we all believed in the green man
things could be better
clearer
