"The Headliner" Hart Evans w/Rick Jones and
Amanda
versus
"The King" Sam King
MWF World Championship Tournament Final, Flaming
Tables Match
Referee: Chris Forrest
JP: We're here, Sully. We've arrived at the
final.
Sully: The Maximum Wrestling Federation
hasn't seen a match like this in a very long time.
JP: Let's go straight ahead with the
introductions, because tonight's special referee is a true expert on
this particular match.
Peter Santos: Ladies and Gentleman it is now time for the
final of the MWF World Heavyweight Championship Tournament! This
match will be a Flaming Tables match [HUGE CHEERS!] one man must
put his opponent through a flaming table to win. Introducing
tonight's guest specialist referee Referee Christopher Forrest!
["There There" by Radiohead hits the PA system and the crowd go
into a deep trance, swaying to the music as Chris Forrest pushes
through the curtain and heads down the ramp.]
Sully: Chris Forrest? We haven't seen this
guy in over a year!
JP: Indeed, many will remember Chris
Forrest, but MWF's new breed of talent will be clueless. Christopher
Forrest was a field-specific referee in MWF's first era.
Sully: This guy specialises in FLAMING
TABLES!
JP: This man wrote the Flaming Table
Rulebook, and often worked with the likes of Simon Diamond, the man
who became famous because of his use of the blazing wood.
[Forrest climbs the ring steps and enters the ring through the
ropes. He circles the ring, leaning over the ropes occasionally to
survey the amount of tables stacked against the crowd barrier.]
Sully: Look at all the tables
JP: They're no use without the
flames.
Sully: Who produces the flames?
JP: I'm under the belief that, when called,
Referee Forrest will light the table.
Peter Santos: Introducing first, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada,
weighing in at 235 lbs., one half of the MWF Tag Team Champions,
accompanied by Rick Jones and Amanda, "The Headliner" Hart Evans!
["Taking Me Down" by Hardline turns the crowd's attention to the
entrance. Hart Evans walks slowly through the entrance curtain,
gripping his Tag Team Title over his shoulder as he glares at the
huge sum of tables at ringside. The crowd's jeers are ignored by The
Headliner as he walks to the ring.]
Sully: Poor Hart Evans looks beaten already.
Look at the fresh cuts on his back. The bloodstains are still
there.
JP: Evans has already fought through one
battle. Maybe it wore him out or maybe it's helped him grow.
[Hart rolls into the ring and finds his feet in front of Referee
Chris Forrest. The men briefly shake hands before Evans drops his
title in the corner of the ring and hits the ropes several times in
succession. "Not Enough" by Our Lady Peace echoes through the
building and signals the entrance of Sam King through the curtain. He
strides to the ring without a stop.]
Peter Santos: And the opponent, from Victoria, Texas, weighing
in at 240 lbs., "The King" Sam King!
Sully: Sam King looks mean!
[A grimace is etched into his face as he slides under the ropes
and comes face to face with Evans. Referee Forrest separates the two
men's stare and forces his hand into the palm of King's.]
JP: Another handshake from Forrest. This guy
wants their respect, because these men will inevitably gain his
before the night is over.
Sully: Hell, yeah! These guys are going to
try to set each other on fire!
[The stare continues as the guest referee backs away. He calls for
the bell as King and Evans leap at each other and locked in a
collar-and-elbow tie-up. Evans forces King into the corner, only to
be pushes away and clotheslined to the mat. King swiftly picks Evans
up and whips him into the ropes. Evans hits the ropes and comes
flying back with a dropkick. King evades the dropkick and lands
several stiff shots into the back of The Headliner's head. Evans
fights to his feet and punches The King in the gut. King is doubled
over as Evans hits a DDT.]
Sully: Who will be first to go for a
table?
JP: Could be either man. Remember that moves
through a table can easily be reversed. The results of this match
could go either way with the slightest of decisions or even
accidents.
[Evans turns King onto his back and hauls him upwards, but King
reacts with a snap suplex. He leaps to his feet and drops a leg on
Evans' neck. He climbs the turnbuckle and leaps into the air with a
moansault. Evans rolls out of harms way and King lands face-first on
the canvas. Evans pulls himself up using the ropes and drops a stiff
elbow over King's head. Evans rolls from the ring and pulls a tavle
from the pile.]
Sully: Woah! Here we go!
[Evans decks out the table on the outside and then jumps up on the
apron. Referee Forrest runs to The Headliner and holds up his lighter
fluid. The crowd cheer but Evans shakes his head and gestures the
referee away.]
Sully: No flames? Why the hell not?
JP: Looks like The Headliner will
concentrate on wearing King down first.
[Evans slips back into the ring through the ropes and takes King
by the head. As King rises, he drives his forearm into The
Headliner's crotch. The Dramatist sends Evans into the ropes and as
he comes back throws The Headliner over the ropes with a monkey toss!
Hart Evans goes rear-first through the table on the outside and jars
his back severely.]
Sully: Argh! That could slow Evans down a
lot!
[King hastily moves to outside and pulls Evans up. Evans struggles
up and is thrown over the crowd barrier as King grabs another stacked
table and slides it into the ring. He turns back to The Headliner,
who is now standing on the barrier. Evans leaps and hits a flying
clothesline. He rolls into the ring to find the flat table. Within
seconds, the table is on four legs in the centre of the ring. Referee
Forrest holds up the lighter fluid, ushering in more cheers from the
audience. Evans looks to the crowd and frowns. He folds his arms
momentarily and then gives the nod.]
Sully: We're about to see flames for the
first time in over a year!
JP: But will we see someone go through the
table?
Sully: We have to!
[Forrest squirts lighter fluid across the table's surface with a
slight grin on his face. He holds the lighter high and then gives it
a flick. With a speedy movement Referee Forrest sets the table
ablaze!]
Sully: Wooo!
[The flames rise into the air as Evans exits the ring and grabs
King. King, however, rams The Headliner headfirst into the crowd
barrier and then headfirst into the ring steps. He lifts Evans and
forces him under the ropes into the ring. Evans crawls on his front
towards the table whilst King climbs the turnbuckle. He jumps far
into the air and comes down with a leg drop over the back of Evans'
head.]
JP: Oww! Both men barely missed the
table!
[The flames die down and stick close to the table. King brings
Evans to his feet and whips him to the ropes. As The Headliner comes
close, King kicks him in the gut and sets him up for the King DDT.
Within seconds King is spinning in the air. With a sudden tug on
Evans' neck, the duo head downwards through the table. The crowd gasp
as the King and Evans lie amidst shards of wood. Referee Forrest
shakes his head and calls out to the ring announcer.]
Referee Forrest: The flames were out, the flames were out!
Sully: The match continues! No flames, no
victory.
JP: God damnit, this match was clearly
over...someone please stop this damn match!
[The crowd are beginning to really get into the match, they're
supporting neither of the men....Rick Jones and Amanda roar on Hart
Evans as he rolls over, pulling a piece of table out from underneath
him and then shaking his head and looking around. Referee Chris
Forrest is shouting at Rick Jones to watch his language, Jones shouts
something back. Sam King is crawling towards the turnbuckle. Hart
Evans gets up and the crowd gasp as he waves Rick Jones to the ring,
Rick Jones pulls something from his pocket and slides them into the
ring.]
Sully: Handcuffs!
JP: My God! For the love of God! The
"Canadian Connection" are bringing handcuffs into the match, Sam
King's going to be powerless to stop anything when he has his hands
tied behind his back.
Sully: Hart Evans is a genuis I swear, who
would have thought of such an evil plan but the great
Canadian.
JP: How comes he is a great Canadian, but
you say Anarkist isn't?
Sully: Because Anarkist is too soft to even
consider using handcuffs on his opponent, he lost his mean streak
long ago.
[Hart Evans takes the handcuffs and the crowd scream with
excitement as Hart Evans walks over to Sam King..."The Dramatist" is
spitting blood and he looks up from the position on his knees and
sees the first of Hart Evans smacking his his right cheekbone..Sam
King slumps onto the turnbuckle. "The Headliner" grabs King's hair
and forces him to his feet, but King finds some energy and knees Hart
Evans in the groin, Evans drops the handcuffs and Sam King gets
technical with an arm toss takedown, bring Hart Evans hard onto his
back.]
JP: That's the old Sam King, the old school
technical moves can win him matches but he hardly uses them these
days.
Sully: He's still a great wrestler, just
doesn't get much luck.
JP: There is more luck to wrestling than
skill....I mean look at Hart Evans, if it wasn't for Wildfire
dropping out then he wouldn't be here.
Sully: You have a point there, most expected
Wildfire to be in the final, I know I did!
[Sam King slides from the ring, he walks over to the annonce table
and then changes direction and goes to where the ring bell is kept.
He grabs the MWF World Championship belt and walks back towards the
ring with it, Hart Evans is attempting to get up as Sam King slides
into the ring. "The Headliner" is half way to his feet as Sam King
raises the belt and brings the MWF World Title crashing down on the
skull of the member of the "Canadian Connection", Amanda screams with
horror and buries her face in Rick Jones as "Acid" watches on.]
JP: If I was Amanda then I'd get backstage
before this gets really nasty....
Sully: She's a fine tough woman, she'll be
staying to watch her brother, she's hardly likely to leave him at a
time like this.
JP: Why hasn't Rick Jones got involved
yet?
Sully: Because this is not his fight, this
is his tag team partners fight and it is not the time or the place
for Rick Jones to interfere.
[Hart Evans is sprawled on the mat....his arms behind him and Sam
King grabs them and then reaches over and grabs the handcuffs,
referee Chris Forrest smiles evily and watches as Amanda screams
helplessly from the ring apron, Rick Jones trying to calm her down.
Hart Evans' arms are locked behind him by the handcuffs, he is
unaware of what is happening as Sam King grabs the MWF World Title
again and calls for Hart Evans to get his sorry ass up. The Canadian
responds, and slowly crawls onto his knees and kneels before "The
King"....Sam King laughs and the whole crowd groan in unison as Sam
King takes the MWF World Title like a baseball bat and with a huge
swing smashes it clean into the side of Hart Evans' face.]
JP: My God! Sam King is going to knock the
face of Hart Evans right off here tonight...
Sully: He was never the best looking
bastard, but Sam King's destroying his looks tonight.
["The King" raises the MWF World Title again and "The Headliner"
looks up with pleading eyes and screams "hit me again" at Sam
King....King is taken aback for a second before swinging the MWF
World Championship belt again, but this time Hart Evans falls back
and dodges the blow, he scrambles forward and leaps at Sam King,
still with his hands tied behind his back. King's face is a mixture
of horror and amazement as Hart Evans spits blood into the face of
"The Dramatist" before throwing his full weight at Sam King, knocking
"The King" back into the corner.]
JP: He's fighting Sam King with his hands
tied behind his back, this is incredible, Hart Evans I have to admit
is showing the heart of a man who wants to win the MWF World
Championship.
Sully: Sam King had better do something
quickly or pray that Hart Evans breaks his arms.
JP: Is Hart Evans going to have to fight the
rest of the match with his hands tied behind his back?
[Sam King is against the turnbuckle and Hart Evans leaps at him
and slams his head hard into the mid-section of Sam King...Evans
stumbles but raises his head and begins to slam it into the ribs of
Sam King causing "The King" to cry out in pain. Hart Evans is
dribbling blood and he spews some more onto Sam King before sinking
his teeth deep into the chest of Sam King and the scream from the
lungs of Sam King is one of pure horror as Hart Evans rips flesh from
Sam King, King sinks to the ground clutching his chest while Evans
roars with delight. Referee Chris Forrest, grabs Hart Evans and drags
him away from Sam King...Hart Evans calls for Forrest to light a
table. Rick Jones slides a table into the ring and Rick Jones slides
in after it and begins to set the table up. Forrest gets the lighter
fuel and he sets the table into an infero.]
Sully: Why has Hart Evans asked for the
table to be set alight he can't even get Sam King onto the
table.
JP: He's got a plan Sully, he's using Rick
Jones to help him...
[Rick Jones grabs Sam King and rolls him onto the flaming
table....the flames lick at the skin of the screaming Sam King. Hart
Evans staggers towards the turnbuckle, keeping his balance and he
looks with maddened eyes at the crowd who are silent, anticipating
something. Sam King is laid on the table which is slowly roasting his
body alive, Hart Evans laughs as he begins to climb the turnbuckle
and the crowd begin to understand what he's doing.]
Sully: Surely he can't...
JP: It would be suicide.
[Amanda and Rick Jones cheer on their fellow countryman as he
reaches the top rope, he turns round and wobbles slgihtly but manages
to keep his balance...he is facing into the ring and the table with
Sam King is within range. Hart Evans roars and the crowd explode as
he leaps off the top rope, he launches his body forward and looks for
a diving headbutt onto the prone body of Sam King...he sails through
the air and the table gives a splintering crack as Hart Evans goes
through it....but only Hart Evans goes through it!]
Sully: JP! JP! Sam King moved, god damnit,
Sam King moved out of the way!
JP: He did it, I can't beleive it....Sam
King could have been killed but he rolled through the flames.
Sully: This is insane, what more can these
men do?
[Sam King lies just inches from the broken table, his arms
singed....Hart Evans is surround by smouldering wood...his body
weight had put out the flames, his face is as black as the night and
his mouth is still outlined with bloody, his eyes are white dots,
streaked with red as he stares across the ring to where Rick Jones is
standing with and open mouth while Amanda sobs into the shoulder of
Rick Jones. The crowd are applauding both men in the ring and Sam
King seems to be stirred by this, the crowd roar as Sam King picks
himself up and with his arms on the ropes he hauls himself up.]
JP: Hang on a minute, why isn't this match
over?
Sully: Because Sam King didn't actually use
an offensive move to put Hart Evans through the table.
JP: Oh.....but surely rolling out of the way
was slightly offensive.
Sully: I didn't see Forrest call for the
match to be finished, so it's still on.
[The handcuffs have some lose and they hang lose from the wrist of
Hart Evans, they've been melted slightly by the inferno that Hart
Evans landed in...."The King" staggers over to Hart Evans and grabs
the hair of "The Headliner" and drags him away from the inferno, he
rolls Hart Evans onto his front and then spits right in the eye of
Hart Evans and shouts something at him, Hart Evans doesn't reply. Sam
King lets go of the hair of Hart Evans and slides from the ring, Rick
Jones and Amanda are on the opposite side of the ring and they watch
as Sam King grabs a table and sets it up outside of the ring.....he
calls referee Forrest over, Forrest grabs the ligher fluid.]
JP: King's taking it to the
outside...
Sully: Makes sense, he was the MWF Xtreme
Champion once, he has a good grounding in the more Xtreme
ways.
[Referee Forrest goes to light the table but King roars at him to
leave it alone.....King grabs another table and begins to set it up
ontop of the other one, the crowd begin to understand and cheer the
second table...King signals for both tables to be set alight. "The
King" slides back into the ring and Hart Evans is still down on the
mat. Sam King grabs Hart Evans and leads him over to the turnbuckle,
he begins to climb towards the top rope, dragging Hart Evans with
him. The two men reach the top rope.]
JP: He's going to do it from there, this is
insane, they could kill each other right here at Vacation.
Sully: I knew this was going to be a good
tournament, but I didn't realise just how good it would be...it's
been amazing night and this is going to finish it off.
JP: I can't watch anymore!
["The King" has Hart Evans in position and he shouts something,
the crowd wait with baited breath and they scream as Hart Evans
breaks the hold...both men wobble precariously on the top rope...Hart
Evans looks to break the hold and twists his body, Sam King takes a
chance, the former MWF Xtreme Champion has Hart Evans by the neck and
he leaps off and spins the body of Hart Evans in the air and Evans
goes crashing through the two flaming tables first with "The King"
ontop of him...Chris Forrest waves his arms like mad and calls for
the bell as the whole arena erupts!]
Sully: My God! They've done it....this match
is over, Sam King has finally done what I thought he could do.
JP: This is a dark day for the MWF, Sam King
is the MWF World Champion.
Sully: Two months ago he had his dreams
shattered and now he has realised that dream and done what he set out
to do.
JP: I can't beleieve it.
[Sam King crawls from the carnage as Rick Jones and Amanda rush to
help Hart Evans who's hair has caught fire, Jones stamps on it to
stop the fire spreading while Amanda places her arm around Evans who
is unable to move. Medics sprint from the back, while Sam King
staggers to his feet, his face signed slightly but tears are in his
eyes as he realises what he's done.]
Peter Santos: And your winner of this match, and new MWF World
Champion, Sam King!
[Chris Forrest grabs the arm of Sam King and leads him back into
the ring, the crowd give a round of applause but most are in shock as
the MWF World Championship is placed in the hand of Sam King...tears
of joy flow from his cheeks as he raises the belt to the crowd. Hart
Evans is being placed on a stretcher.]
Sully: What an incredible night it's been
JP, we've got a new TV and World Champion.
JP: Both of them bastards, Sam King, I can't
believe he was even allowed in the tournament and now the "WMD" has
lost its greatest asset.
Sully: The battlelines have been drawn and
the "WMD" are going to have to re-think after tonight, what a move by
Sam King...a Spinning DDT from the top rope through two flaming
tables.
JP: Poor Hart Evans, you have to feel for
the guy.
Sully: I do, I really do, but he'll be back
you can bet your house on that.
JP: The "Canadian Connection" has proved
tonight it is a force to be reckoned with, now the "WMD" is showing
cracks and everyone is picking them apart.
Sully: It's what they deserve for being so
damn cocky, I can't wait to see what's going to happen tomorrow
night.
JP: That's if Hart Evans is in any fit shape
to wrestle, tomorrow night everyone Sam King has to team up with the
very man he beat to take on the "WMD".
Sully: I hope they can put aside their
differences and crush the "WMD" once and for all...
["Not Enough" by Our Lady Peace plays as yellow lights flash
around the arena and "The King" Sam King is finally wearing the crown
jewel of the Maximum Wrestling Federation, with a huge smile and
tears of joy as he raises the belt once again to the jeering crowd.]
JP: He'll never be liked again, but Sam King
has been impressive tonight and just maybe one day he'll turn back to
the light.
Sully: Not if he keeps winning with the new
darkness, he's a sick man and tonight he showed it.
JP: He put aside his former best friend to
win tonight, that took courage but the final showed that Sam King
really is a good wrestler....but the "WMD" will take revenge tomorrow
night.
Sully: We'll just have to see, goodnight
everyone!
JP: Goodnight!
The MWF is the Maximum

produced with the help of Joe Forrest, Stefan Malis and Jamie
Rogerson, thank you guys I could never do it without you :) Well done
to everyone who roleplayed to make this such a good event, tournament
probably could have been better but they're really hard to write
because you really can't write matches before the deadline,
especially the final! Anyhow, I hope you're all well and that we can
keep this form going.
