[JP and Sully are halted from talking any further as "Zero" by The
Smashing Pumpkins hits the PA system and the MWF President walks out
confidently to his new entrance music. A mic in his hand, he waves to
the fans who give a positive reception to the MWF President. He
smiles as a lady reaches out to touch the President and a young fan
calls for an autograph, Walker signs the boys sheet of paper as he
heads for the ring.]
Sully: It's amazing how quickly these fans
forget, give anything a few months and the fans will forget it
all.
JP: Walker's pulled himself around, after
what happened to him at the hands of Anarkist and Laura, his own
daughter I think everyone realised he is human after all...
Sully: Not the monster we all thought he
was, he's actually getting cheered now but a few months ago they'd be
wanting his blood.
JP: He must be thankful they don't, we do
sometimes forget that without this man there would be no MWF.
Sully: One question though, why is he out
here?
[Walker is in the ring, he shakes hands with Peter Santos and
spins on his heels. His face has rapidly aged, his grey hair is
slicked over to one side and his eyes seem faded as he raises the
mike to his mouth.]
Walker: Fans, I'm glad you've come along
tonight. I'd first of all like to welcome you all back to the Maximum
Wrestling Federation and I can't tell you how great it feels to be
back in Illinois!
[This cheap pop has the fans chanting loudly "MWF! MWF! MWF!" as
Walker paces back and forth, looking happy.]
Walker: I've just nipped out here to
announce a little change to tonight's card. You all paid your hard
earned money tonight so I wanted to give you a little something
extra....in return for your continued support while we've been out of
the state. I'd like you to take a second look at the next match
because the MWF Xtreme Championship will be on the line....
[The fans leap to their feet, cheering loudly at the thought of a
title match.]
JP: Wow! The MWF Xtreme Championship will be
defend for a second time in eight days, NomaD can't be too happy
about it.
Sully: I reckon Zach Fredricks will be, this
could well be his last chance to try and wrench the Xtreme
Championship from the grasp of the "Untouchables".
JP: This changes the match greatly, it
brings EyCe into play and Zach Fredricks will find himself
outnumbered if the "Untouchables" decide to play the numbers
game.
[Walker raises his arm for silence, the fans respond and Walker
speaks again.]
Walker: Also...the fun doesn't stop there.
If you look at the piece of paper that was handed out to you as you
entered the arena tonight, it lists in one column the match
types....it says singles match for this coming match, well. It's not
anywhere! It will be an anywhere they god damn choose to fall match!
They can go anywhere in this arena, NomaD could end up pinning Zach
Fredricks right next to your seat...or Zach Fredricks could be
smashing your chair that your sitting on over the head of
NomaD.
[The fans are roaring in approval at the changes made by the MWF
President, he looks pleased as he looks around the arena, Walker
steps from the ring and makes his way backstage.]
JP: The next match has been completely
turned on its head, NomaD must be fuming backstafe...he was preparing
for a match that did not hold much danger but now it holds everything
he owns.
Sully: Zach Fredricks can go out there
tonight and prove himself, he has nothing to lose because this could
be his last shot. Walker's said it there, without actually saying it
that Fredricks has to go out there and impress the fans if he wants
to win the MWF Xtreme Championship.
JP: It'll be interesting to see how NomaD
approaches the match, he might be a bit more cautious than
usual.
Sully: Yeah, I can imagine him doing
that...I wouldn't blame him because he has to think about the
implications of losing the MWF Xtreme Championship.
JP: It'd knock the validty of the
"Untouchables" as an emerging force in the MWF, I mean they have the
MWF World Champion on their books but having the MWF Xtreme
Championship is important to.
Sully: I secretly think NomaD wanted EyCe
and Kidman to win the MWF Tag Team Championships more than anything
else.
JP: What makes you think that?
Sully: If you are the leader of a stable,
you wouldn't exactly want one of your other lower stable members to
suddenly be ranked above you.
JP: NomaD's not like that, he knows that
Kidman has respect for him.
Sully: I wouldn't be so sure.
[The camera suddenly cuts backstage, in the MWF locker room where
the fans go wild as they see a rather forlorn "Jay-Z" packing his
stuff into a bag. He takes a picture from inside a locker, a picture
of himself and Sam King winning the MWF Tag Team Championships, The
Jeopardizer turns to the camera.]
The Jeopardizer: It's been a tough time
lately, I've returned from injuries to try and recapture the form
that once brought me great nights like this. I'm sorry everyone, I'm
really sorry.
["Jay-Z" places the picture inside his bag, sighs and zips it up.
He takes a look around the locker room, a tear in his eye.]
The Jeopardizer: This place holds many a
special memory for me. I've sat here and laughed until the sun's
risen, I've sat here and cried my eyes out after a match that I'd
rather forget. I've had the time of my life, but as they say all good
things have to come to an end.
[The groans can be heard from the arena, large shouts of 'No!'
come from the crowd.]
JP: I can't believe this, what's
happening...Sully?
Sully: I didn't know this was going to
happen, it's not scheduled, I didn't know The Jeopardizer was going
to address us tonight.
[The Jeopardizer takes a step towards the door of the locker
room.]
The Jeopardizer: This is the last time I'll
walk through this building, the last time I stepped into the MWF
ring. You all saw me out there, I was a shadow...a shadow of my
former self. They used to call me 'shadow-boy' do you remember that?
I've never really come out of that shadow, I've always been stuck in
the shadow of that damn King, that fucker Sam King. He's always been
the favourite, the best...me, I'm just lost.
[The door opens and The Jeopardizer steps out into the corridor,
the locker room door slowly closes behind him.]
The Jeopardizer: This is my exit, my final
exit. Goodbye, you've all been great. I couldn't do this out in the
ring, because.....it hurts to do this, I'm saying goodbye, the last
chapter in The Jeopardizer is written and now I am gone.
[The camera stands still, almost reflecting the shock of the fans
in the crowd as they watch the former MWF Xtreme and Tag Team
Champion trudge down the corridor, his bag over his shoulder and he
glances back once, tears streaming down his face before he disappears
for the last time.]
JP: Oh no, no, I can't believe it.
Sully: I never thought I'd live to see the
day, I didn't think he'd ever leave but now he has, well I almost
feel sorry.
JP: You should, The Jeopardizer has been a
son of the MWF, he's been there since the beginning and he's come up
through the ranks and I thought he'd be in there fighting for the MWF
World Championship by now.
Sully: He was never good enough for that,
maybe he's finally realised his place in the MWF and that is out of
it.
JP: I wonder what Sam King thinks about all
this, I know the two men hate each other but they grew up together
and something inside of Sam King must be wondering just why he let it
all happen.
Sully: They were a fantastic tag team, only
the "Canadian Connection" were better.
JP: We've had few great tag teams in the MWF
but The Jeopardizer and Sam King really set the standard for the rest
to follow.
Sully: I'm not sure how the fans are going
to react to the news about The Jeopardizer, it's all gone very quiet
in here.
JP: It's taken the shine off Walker's
announcement, I know these fans would have The Jeopardizer back
rather than an MWF Xtreme Championship Falls Count Anywhere
match.
Sully: They'll have to live with it, I think
I'm already over it...
