Jamie Marley
versus
Steven Douglas
Singles Match
Referee: Chad Pattison
Writter: Scott Worthingtton
JP: Ok, this is it Sully. Two rookies of the
MWF going at it right now. Who you picking?
Sully: Simple JP. I am going with Steven
Douglas.
JP: What?! You know who I am going
with?
Sully: Jamie Marley?
JP: Hell no! I hope both men rip each other
up and never appear again.
Sully: Thats a bit harsh, you've changed
your tune since earlier...
JP: Just testing!
[The scene cuts from JP and Sully and heads over to Peter Santos
who is ready to kick things off in the ring.]
Peter Santos: This match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing
first...
["I Know" by Bob Marley blasts out on the PA system as out walks
Jamie Marley, the smaller of the two guys but might just be the
quicker.]
Peter Santos: Weighing in at 215lbs from Kingston, Jamaica,
Jamie Marley!
[Marley gets a little pop from the crowd but nothing outstanding.
He walks down the entrance ramp and walks towards the ring getting
himself pumped up about this important match in his career with the
MWF. He slides into the ring and pumps himself up a little more
before his opponent is introduced.]
Peter Santos: And his opponent! Weighing in at 224lbs, hailing
from Tampa, Florida...Steven Douglas!
["Freak of The World" by Puddle Of Mudd blasts out as the crowd
raise to their feet to see this impressive rookie enter the arena for
his first match in the MWF. Douglas walks down the ramp, clapping the
hands of a few of the fans before sliding into the ring and climbing
a turnbuckle to salute the MWF fans one more time. Marley stands
behind him and as he gets down from the turnbuckle the two men lock
eyes. The bell sounds as the two stand nose to nose.]
JP: Oh here we go, these two going to get
this match on or what?
Sully: This is a big night for both of them
JP, they got to get themself pumped.
JP: It's a big night for me to but I dont
just stand there.
[The two men exchange a few words before both backing off from
each other and then circling around the ring to warm up. After a full
lap of the ring the two come into the centre of the ring and lock up,
jocking for position. After a while Douglas shoves down Marley.
Marley gets right back up and one again they both circle the ring.
Just as before they lock back up, but this time, as Douglas goes to
shove down Marley, Marley ducks under the legs of Douglas and drop
kicks him to the back, knocking down the bigger man. Marley has
Douglas down on all fours. He runs towards the ropes that Douglas is
facing and comes back hitting a front dropkick to the face of
Douglas! Marley then goes for the cover. One...Two..a kick out by
Douglas leads to him getting back to his feet and locking eyes with
his opponent.]
Sully: A quick move and Marley was in
control there.
JP: Did something happen? Oh wow, first time
for everything I suppose
[Douglas doesnt waste anymore time and dives right on his opponent
knocking him down to the floor with a spear. He holds on to the body
of Marley and begins to pummel away with right hands to the side of
the face. Time and time again he pummels away before the referee,
Chad Pattison, uses his five count and breaks the hold. Douglas
doesnt wait around for Marley to get up. He shoves him into the
turnbuckle and starts to kick him in the stomach. He then whips his
opponent across the ring and into the opposite turnbuckle. Douglas
runs after Marley and attempts to connect with a running clothesline,
but the quicker Marley ducks the attempt and hits a series of right
hands of his own. He then grabs the arm of Douglas and begins to
crank away on it. He twists the arm and starts to climb the ropes. As
he jumps off the ropes he wraps his legs around the head of Douglas,
obviously looking for a hurricanrana. Douglas, somehow, blocks the
attempt and hits a powerbomb on Marley. The crowd give the reversal a
little pop as Douglas now goes for the cover. One...two..and a kick
out by Marley this time. Douglas grabs the leg of Marley and begins
to stamp away at the knee joint. Marley screams out in pain as the
kicks meet their mark.]
JP: Suppose that is a good tactic by Douglas
there. Grounding Marley is the best thing he can do here.
Sully: Yes, good move by Douglas.
[As Douglas attempts to wrap Marley's leg around his own, looking
for a leg lock, Marley kicks him in the head and again, and again!
Douglas cant keep the hold on and Marley escapes before anymore
damage can be done. Marley gets right back up to his feet and
launches himself at Douglas. He connects with a big front jumping
calf kick right to the jaw of Douglas. Marley runs towards the ropes
and bounces back off the middle rope looking for a lionsault. Douglas
rolls out of the way but Marley has it telegraphed and lands on his
feet! Douglas doesnt see it coming and Marley kicks out his leg and
connects with a huge shot to the jaw again! Douglas rolls out of the
ring under the bottom rope as Marley stands in the ring and throws
his arms up to the crowd.]
Sully: This Jamie Marley is showing Douglas
that he isnt some little fish in a big pond.
JP: But he is! Both of them are.
Sully: ....
[Douglas is on the outside of the ring nursing his jaw as Marley
grabs the ropes and throws his body over them. He lands on top of
Douglas with an over the rope body press! The two men fall down to
the floor in a heap but it isn't too long before Jamie Marley jumps
right back up and slides into the ring. Chad Pattison has a few words
with him about his "leap of faith" as Douglas recovers and slides
into the ring himself. Marley runs against the ropes behind him and
runs towards Douglas who is just getting to his feet. As he does so,
Marley is chopped down with a big time right handed clothesline!
Douglas almost takes off his head! Douglas picks up his opponent and
then hits a back breaker and another one! He then slams him down with
authority! Douglas then locks on a rear chin lock to the face of
Marley. Marley isnt going to be in this move long as he motions over
towards the ropes and wraps his legs around the bottom one. Douglas
is forced to release the hold, which he does. Marley goes out to the
apron. Douglas tries to go after him but is hit with a shoulder to
the gut through the ropes. Douglas bends over in pain but then gets
right back up and suplexs Jamie over the top rope and down, hard to
the mat!]
Sully: Big move, could be the end!
[However, Marley rolls through the suplex and lands on top of
Douglas, pinning his shoulders down. One...two...NO! Kick out again
by Douglas. Marley wastes little time and runs to the turnbuckle. He
climbs it and then waits for Douglas to regain his senses. Marley
jumps off the turnbuckle as Douglas turns around and lands a big kick
to the chest of Douglas knocking him down to the canvas yet again.
The speed of the match is changing now with Marley in full control.
Marley takes a few seconds to take the praise from the crowd for the
move but doesnt realise that Steven Douglas is back to his feet.
Douglas motions towards Marley and tries to connect with The Lick
Kick but Marley ducks the kick and sweeps the other leg of Douglas
from under his feet. Douglas falls to the canvas again. Marley goes
to the apron for a second time and hits a springboard leg drop!
Douglas is in a world of hurt!]
JP: Surely Marley has this match wrapped up
right now!
Sully: He has changed the tempo of this
match and everything is going right for him right!
[Marley runs towards the ropes again, does a backflip of the ropes
and lands with a leg drop across the throat of Steve Douglas! Douglas
holds his neck in pain as the crowd clap the aerial ability of Jamie
Marley.]
Sully: There it is! The Starlight
Shot!
JP: That guy moves damn fast!
Sully: Its got to be over right now.
[The referee drops to his knees as Marley goes for the cover.
One...Two...Three. He got it! Marley picks up his first win of his
MWF career.]
Peter Santos: And your winner, through pinfall, Jamie
Marley!
JP: And there we go. Jamie Marley picking
his first win up in the MWF. A big time move ended it right here but
Marley looked in control of this match from the get go.
Sully: He didnt look as if he was going to
let this match go without scoring a pinfall thats for sure.
JP: I will give the kid some credit. He is
fast!
Sully: That is something which he can use to
his favour every week and if he moves as fast as that each week we
could see him moving up the ranks very quickly.
JP: I suppose Douglas deserves some credit
too, he didn't lay down without a fight and hit some big impact
moves.
Sully: It wasn't enough for Douglas
tonight.
JP: I think this brings us to the end of the
show...
Sully: ...but we've got another hour of
airtime left!
JP: You're joking...
