"The Kovenant"
versus
MWF Tag Team Champions: "Kronik" Sozzey and Mak
Non-Title Tag Team Match
Referee: Grant August
Writer: Ed Walker
JP: This match is going to be stunning, I can't wait to
see who this team are..."The Kovenant".
Sully: They attacked Insane Wayne's car last week and certainly annoyed the
former President of the MWF, but now they've picked two more targets.
JP: "Kronik" are the MWF Tag Team Champions and this non-title match is very
important to their future.
Sully: "The Kovenant" have a great chance to make an impression, straight
away, and scare the opposition.
JP: If they win you can expect to see them quickly working their way up the
MWF tag team division.
Sully: It's about time that division had a kick up the ass, and "The
Kovenant" could do just that.
[Peter Santos is in the ring and the crowd applaud the announcer as he's
about to introduce the proceedings. Santos smiles at the response from the
Japanese fans and he bows in respect for them, before rising and bellowing into
the mic.]
Peter Santos: Ladies and gentlemen, the next match is a non-title tag team
contest. Introducing first, weighing in at a combined weight of 555 lbs., from
Brooklyn, New York, they are the Maximum Wrestling Federation Tag Team
Champions, "Kronik" Sozzey and Mak!
[The crowd roar as the MaxiTron flickers into life and fireworks crash down
onto the entrance way, through an explosion of blue pyro come the MWF Tag Team
Champions. They have their belts around their waist and they pause to taunt the
fans, who respond with cheers...although a minority jeer the MWF Tag Team
Champions. Sozzey and Mak high five each other and walk down the entrance ramp,
looking around slightly apprehensively due to the fact they don't know who their
opponents are this evening.]
JP: These guys have been a staple part of the MWF tag
team diet for a long time and they will want to keep these belts for as long as
possible.
Sully: No doubting the intentions of "Kronik", but they might not be able to
stand up to this new team.
JP: Who do you think this team is?
Sully: I'm not sure.
JP: I get the feeling you're holding back some information Sullivan.
Sully: Honestly, I don't know!
["Kronik" reach the ring and they slide under the ropes and leap to their
feet, Sozzey and Mak take separate corners and climb up the turnbuckle and raise
their arms to the fans. The crowd grab their cameras and take picture of the MWF
Tag Team Champions as they take off their tag team belts and pass them to the
match referee, Grant August, who takes them and passes them to a member of ring
crew who puts them behind the timekeepers table.]
JP: Here we go then...time to find out exactly who this
mysterious tag team are.
Sully: They've been very vocal of their criticism of just about, well,
everything in the MWF right now!
JP: Very true, you really do have to watch your step with them around.
Sully: But I get the impression they are two very important people and they
fill change the course of the MWF.
[Peter Santos turns to the entrance way, as do Sozzey and Mak who are talking
to each other...and glancing at the entrance way, perhaps a little nervous about
who they have to face. Peter Santos raises the mic to his lips and his familiar
tones fill the four corners of the arena.]
Peter Santos: And the opponents, weighing in at a combined weight of 510
lbs., "The Kovenant"!
[The fans watch on as the arena lights dim and the MaxiTron just whirls with
the MWF logo, no music comes from the PA system and "Kronik" look a little
concerned....suddenly the MWF Tag Team Champions are made to jump as "A Place
For My Head" by Linkin Park rips through the PA system and the MWF World
Heavyweight Champion walks out.]
JP: It's Thunder Bull!
Sully: We should of know...
JP: ...he's got someone with him, that's, that's...
Sully: ...I can't quite make it out from here.
[The camera get closer to the entrance way and the crowd suddenly explode
with cheers as they realise standing on the entrance way are Thunder Bull and
The Grudge...the two men raise their arms to the crowd and then remove jackets
to reveal t-shirts with "The Kovenant" written on them. They charge down the
entrance ramp, and "Kronik" look stunned by the arrival of their opponents. The
MWF World and Xtreme Champions run down the entrance ramp towards the ring and
the crowd go wild as Thunder Bull and The Grudge hit the ring.]
JP: I really never saw that coming, what a turn up for
the books.
Sully: This day really will go down in history that's for sure.
JP: No doubting that, Thunder Bull and The Grudge are "The Kovenant".
Sully: "Kronik" are going to have one hell of a fight on their hands tonight.
[Grant August is as shocked as "Kronik" and "The Kovenant" climb over the
ropes and the arena crowd roar as they attack the stunned Sozzey and Mak.
Thunder Bull takes Mak down a clothesline, Sozzey is grabbed by The Grudge and
sent running into the turnbuckle. The Grudge runs after him and hits a running
dropkick into the face of Sozzey, who collapses downwards onto the canvas near
the turnbuckle. Mak is down on the mat and the MWF World Heavyweight Champion
grabs him and pulls him to his feet, "The Perfector of Pain" lifts up Mak and
the ring shakes with the impact of a viscous DDT. Thunder Bull rolls over and
looks for a cover, but Grant August refuses the count because the bell hasn't
been rung. Thunder Bull gets up and lectures Grant August, the experienced
referee gives as good as he gets and pushes the MWF World Heavyweight Champion
over to the other side of the ring. Grant August calls for the bell to be rung,
and points to The Grudge as the legal man.]
JP: Haha....go Grant, show the MWF World Heavyweight
Champion who the boss really is in the ring.
Sully: You can't get away with disrespecting the most experienced referee on
the MWF's roster like that.
JP: Grant is a legend amongst referee's, he's refereed more matches than
you've had dinners Sullivan.
Sully: And that's a hell of a lot of matches!
[Thunder Bull takes his place on the ring apron as The Grudge and Sozzey go
at it...or rather The Grudge dominated the MWF Tag Team Champion. The Grudge has
Sozzey back on his feet and the crowd cheer as The Grudge hits an arm drag that
has Sozzey rolled over onto the mat. The Grudge looks for a quick cover and
Grant August counts ...1..! Sozzey escapes quickly and the crowd jeer as Mak
distracts the referee, this temporary distraction allows a low blow from Sozzey
to knock The Grudge completely out of stride. Mak is sent back to his corner by
Grant August, while Sozzey grabs The Grudge and looks for a suplex. The crowd
watch on as The Grudge is thrown up in the air for the suplex, but as Sozzey
looks to bring him down...The Grudge acrobatically escapes from the move and
lands on his feet, while Sozzey comes crashing down onto the mat.]
JP: Great agility from The Grudge, he worked that one
really well.
Sully: Reversing moves is an art form, you can win so many matches with a
good reversal.
JP: Very true, there has been many an important MWF match won through a well
timed reversal of a move.
Sully: "Kronik" are going to find it really tough going tonight, they will
need to use any low down dirty trick in the book to pick up the win.
[The Grudge sends Sozzey into the turnbuckle once more with an irish whip and
the MWF Tag Team Champion thuds against it to the cheers of the crowd, The
Grudge approaches him slowly and gains a cheer from the fans as he climbs up
onto the second rope and starts to bring down right hands to the face of the
trapped Sozzey. "Homicidal Creep" sets the crowd alight as he brings down his
fist and the crowd count as the punches come firing
down...1...2...3...4...5...6. The crowd cheer as the move is stopped short by
Mak, the other half of "Kronik" has seen enough and comes to the aid of his
partner. Mak grabs The Grudge from behind and throws him down off the turnbuckle
and onto the canvas. The MWF World Heavyweight Champion, Thunder Bull, leaps
over the ropes and comes running across. Mak is ready for him and the crowd jeer
as Mak ducks a clothesline and comes firing up with a short arm clothesline that
knocks Thunder Bull onto the ropes. Grant August is attempting to get in-between
the brawl and Mak runs at Thunder Bull, but the "Perfector of Pain" drops a
shoulder and levers Mak clean over the ropes.]
JP: Whoah! Mak's gone airborne!
Sully: Look out below, KronAir!
JP: That's just not funny.
Sully: I thought that was quite good!
[Mak lands with a thud onto the concrete floor outside and the nearby fans
jeer the MWF Tag Team Champion, meanwhile in the ring Grant August has regained
control and he sends Thunder Bull back to the corner. The fans jeer though as
The Grudge is still down on the canvas and Sozzey staggers over and hauls up the
MWF Xtreme Champion to a standing position, he whips The Grudge into the ropes.
The Grudge comes back and a power slam shakes the ring, and Sozzey follows up
with a cover ...1....2! The Grudge rolls a shoulder and Thunder Bull calls for
the tag.]
JP: This is the only thing that can let The Grudge and
Thunder Bull down, a lack of team work and experience.
Sully: "Kronik" have been together for years and know each others game plan
like the back of their hand...they are brothers as well.
JP: It's going to be tough for Thunder Bull and The Grudge to reach that same
level of understanding as the MWF Tag Team Champions have.
Sully: But right now, Sozzey is on his own after Mak landed on the outside.
[The Grudge is pulled across to the opposite side of the ring to his tag team
partner and the crowd watch in frustration as Sozzey props The Grudge up against
the turnbuckle and stamps a foot into the chest of The Grudge. Sozzey backs away
and looks for the tag to Mak, but realises that his tag team partner is on the
outside. He shakes his head and walks back to The Grudge, he picks him up and
the crowd jeer as he places The Grudge on the top rope. "Homicidal Creep" is in
trouble as Sozzey climbs up onto the second rope and grabs The Grudge, the MWF
Xtreme Champion is pulled off the top rope and his head is slammed into the
canvas with a top rope DDT that has the crowd jeering loudly at Sozzey. The
Grudge rolls over and limply moves his arms, Sozzey hooks the leg and looks for
the victory ...1....2..! The Grudge just manages to kick out and Thunder Bull
retreats back to the corner after leaping over the ropes ready to interfere. The
MWF Tag Team Champion hits the floor with frustration at The Grudge kicking out
and he rolls The Grudge over and stamps heavily on his back, causing The Grudge
to roar with pain.]
JP: Ouch! That was a shot from Sozzey right there into
the back of The Grudge.
Sully: That really must of hurt.
JP: The Grudge did well to survive there, Sozzey is really turning the screw
now on "The Kovenant".
Sully: I don't think that The Grudge and Thunder Bull expected this to be
such a hard match.
[Mak is now back on his feet on the outside, he rubs his head and makes his
way back round to the "Kronik" side of the ring. He climbs up onto the ring
apron and calls for the tag, the crowd respond with jeers as Sozzey picks up The
Grudge and locks in a headlock and makes his way across to his tag team partner.
Mak and Sozzey make the tag and Sozzey releases the headlock, and The Grudge
stands up and shakes his head...only to be grabbed by Mak and laid out with a
massive suplex. Mak extends the vertical hang time of the move and The Grudge
hits the canvas. The MWF Xtreme Champion hits the deck and holds his back,
arching it in pain as Mak covers ...1...2..! The Grudge again rolls the shoulder
and Mak looks at Sozzey, with slight disbelief.]
JP: The Grudge is really showing some resilience
here...he's hanging in there.
Sully: If he can just make the tag to Thunder Bull he will set this arena
alight.
JP: He has a match later as well, this abuse he's taking can't be helping
him.
Sully: ViperJ will be pretty happy to see it is The Grudge who is part of
"The Kovenant".
[The Grudge is pulled to his feet by a disbelieving Mak, and the MWF Tag Team
Champion looks to boot The Grudge in the mid section but the MWF Xtreme Champion
grabs the leg of Mak....and the crowd explode as a dragon screw has the MWF Tag
Team Champion down. The fans roar as The Grudge leaves Mak on the mat and flees
to the other side of the ring and makes the tag to Thunder Bull. The MWF World
Heavyweight Champion is on a hot tag, he's pumped, he snarls and climbs into the
ring and stamps his foot and faces himself towards Mak. One half of "Kronik" is
slowly getting to his feet and the crowd explode as Thunder Bull runs at Mak and
takes him down with a massive spear like move. Mak is slammed into the ropes by
the force of the move, and Thunder Bull lets go and Mak comes back off the ropes
and flips head over heels onto the mat. Thunder Bull gets to his feet, roars in
the face of Sozzey, before turning back to the grounded Mak.]
JP: The MWF World Heavyweight Champion is really fired
up here, he isn't going to hang around and wait for the competition.
Sully: He is the MWF World Heavyweight Champion, he waits for no man and
"Kronik" are really finding that out now.
JP: Mak looks have been hurt by that move, he came back off those ropes like
a shot.
Sully: It would of hurt like hell, the "Perfector of Pain" isn't exactly
small!
[Mak is struggling to his knees and a roar goes up from the crowd as Thunder
Bull walks over to him and helps him up, only to chop right across the chest of
Mak and bring a scream of pain from his lungs, another chop follows and Mak is
forced back across the ring towards where The Grudge stands recovering in the
corner. Thunder Bull roars and grapples Mak, and the crowd cheer as Mak is
whipped into the ropes...as he hits the ropes on the opposite side of the ring
he crashes into his tag team partner Sozzey and sends him falling off the side
of the ring. Sozzey cracks his head on the concrete floor and is out like a
light. Thunder Bull senses an opportunity and as Mak comes back off the ropes he
grabs him and executes a double knee face buster that cracks his knees into the
face of Mak. "Perfector of Pain" crawls over Mak and hooks the leg, Grant August
counts ...1...2..! Mak manages to kick out to the jeers of the crowd.]
JP: Oh! I thought it was all over then.
Sully: Thunder Bull looked set to pick a debut win for "The Kovenant", well
debut win as a tag team because these two between them have quite a lot of
victories under their belts.
JP: It's the first time I've really seen Thunder Bull in a team situation,
apart from the short-lived "Team Elite" and he seems to be able to handle it.
Sully: "Kronik" are a man down once more, one thing "The Kovenant" have
tried to do is eliminate the second man.
[Thunder Bull acts quickly after Mak's kick out, he grabs Mak and hoists him
up onto his shoulders. Grant August leaps out of the way as Thunder Bull
powerbombs Mak onto the mat and the ring shakes with impact, The Grudge cheers
on his tag team partner and Thunder Bull smiles and points to the turnbuckle.
The fans explode as the MWF World Heavyweight Champion walks over to the
turnbuckle and climbs up, glancing back at the downed Mak. Sozzey is still down
on the outside, and The Grudge drops down from the ring apron and sneaks around
the side of the ring to where Sozzey is still sprawled on the floor. Thunder
Bull is on the top rope and he signals to the crowd what is about to happen,
while The Grudge stands over Sozzey and makes sure he's down and out. Grant
August is totally focused on the ring that he doesn't notice The Grudge sneaking
a steel chair and standing over Sozzey's fallen body. Thunder Bull roars and
leaps off the top rope, spinning his body and hitting The Impulse onto the body
of Mak! The ring is shaken with the impact of the move and the body of Mak
spasms with pain as Thunder Bull lands. The MWF World Heavyweight Champion
bounces off Mak, and then rolls over to make the cover as Grant August counts
...1...Sozzey is coming around, he rubs his head and turns round only to be
knocked out by The Grudge smashing a steel chair into his face ...2....3! The
bell sounds and the crowd cheer, although some jeer at the actions of The
Grudge.]
JP: "The Kovenant" make their mark on the MWF and
create history with such a fantastic team with so much potential.
Sully: They cheated to win though, Sozzey was held back from helping his tag
team partner.
JP: That chair shot was viscous, absolutely viscous.
Sully: The fans are still cheering though...
Peter Santos: And your winners, through pin fall, "The Kovenant", Thunder
Bull and The Grudge!
[The fans cheer as Thunder Bull stands and smiles wickedly at the victory,
his arm is grabbed by Grant August who waits for The Grudge to slide into the
ring and the two men have their arms raised to show the victory. Sozzey is
bleeding on the outside of the ring and both The Grudge and Thunder Bull look
down at the fallen Mak. The two men lean down and grab one half of the MWF Tag
Team Champions and pull him to his feet, Mak is dragged from the ring and "The
Kovenant" lead him up the entrance ramp...the fans looking a little confused at
what this newly formed tag team are doing.]
JP: Where are they taking Mak?
Sully: I don't know...do I look like a psychic?
JP: Well, no.
Sully: Why you asking me then!? This Japanese crowd are as confused as we
are.
[Mak is lead, stumbling and pleading up the entrance ramp, as "The Kovenant"
smile evilly and Thunder Bull points to the top of the entrance ramp and to the
side where a large stash of technical equipment is kept. The fans look on as
Thunder Bull throws Mak down onto the entrance way, near the edge where there is
a drop to the technical equipment.]
JP: I think I can see what they are doing, why do the
need to do this? They won the match...just leave "Kronik" alone.
Sully: It's not as simple as that.
JP: It's not?
Sully: They said they want to make their mark and make everyone in the MWF
fear them, well this is as good a chance as any.
[Thunder Bull laughs and the crowd start to turn against him, as he picks up
Mak and there are screams as he body slams Mak off the side of the entrance way
and onto the technical equipment below. The arena goes crazy as there is a small
explosion and sparks fly, as Thunder Bull raises his arms to the crowd and The
Grudge stands next to him. The camera cuts back to the ring where a bloodied
Sozzey staggers into the ring and holding the ropes looks on to where his
brother has just been thrown off the side of the stage.]
JP: Good Lord! They just threw him off the side of the
stage...are they mad?
Sully: "The Kovenant" have made their statement and these fans don't agree
but they will have to live with it.
JP: They will have to, but their MWF World and Xtreme Champions have made
their mark.
Sully: It depends whether The Grudge has enough strength left to defeat
ViperJ in what should be a heroic struggle.
JP: This should be ViperJ's final chance at being the MWF Xtreme Champion,
apart from next week when we have a special match, but one on one with The
Grudge he should finally beat him.
Sully: I don't think so, and Thunder Bull will be in The Grudge's corner and
it's intimidating to say the least to have the MWF World Heavyweight Champion up
against you.
JP: We're going to take a break and we'll be right back with you.
