"Greenfire" Steven Douglas w/Adam The Ritcheous

versus

Colin Dzur

Singles Match

Referee: Chad Pattison

Writer: Ed Walker

[The crowd are growing restless, JP and Sully converse as the fans behind them wave pointless banners display such great slogans as "YOUR MUM!" and "HELLO MUM!" next to each other. Sully gives the fans a cursory glance....]

Sully: It's pretty noisy tonight, can't believe that six thousand people could make so much noise, especially British people.

JP: It's great to be over here, the tour is drawing to a close but it's been fantastic to see just how far the MWF's influence has gone.

Sully: You don't say, I picked up a newspaper the other day and there was Insane Wayne doing an interview.....nothing can stop "Twisted Vizion" from trying to take over the world.

JP: They are the most dominant force we've ever seen, Commissioner Wayne have anything interesting to say in that interview?

Sully: Yeah, he said that Steven Douglas will never win an MWF match!

JP: Douglas' losing streak is incredible, I can barely believe he hasn't won anything yet.

Sully: He's such a talent and yet he seems to have this magnetic attraction to losing...someone put a magnet in his shoe when he joined the MWF or something.

JP: Colin Dzur stands in his way tonight, many feel he was unlucky not to beat Wildfire last week....

Sully: ....who Dzur?

JP: No, "Greenfire"....he should have won the match, Wildfire was really struggling towards the end but he came through.

Sully: Shows what can happen when you leave "Twisted Vizion"!

[Peter Santos makes his way into the centre of the ring, the crowd are mostly talking amongst themselves but they begin to settle as Santos' familiar tones echo around the arena walls.]

Peter Santos: This match is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, from Detroit, Michigan, weighing in at 224 lbs., "Greenfire" Steven Douglas!

[A new sounds hits the PA system as "Woke Up This Morning" by Nickelback plays....the crowd leap to their feet and give a mixed reaction as Steven Douglas comes out through a blaze of green lights. He pushes back his long brown hair from his eyes, he smiles and gives the fans the middle finger...he storms down the entrance ramp, high fiving a few fans who have put their hands out.]

JP: Douglas seems confident, you have to respect a man who has had five defeats in a row and yet can still come out looking like he's just won the MWF World Championship.

Sully: Bit of a change for Douglas, new music...and possibly a new attitude.

JP: He had to try something! It was getting pretty desperate.

Sully: Five defeats in a row is tough for anyone, I would expect a lesser man to buckle but it seems that this son of a bitch is as tough as nails.

[Steven Douglas reaches the ring, he rolls in and leaps to his feet....he slashes his arm through the air and shouts abuse at referee Chad Pattison, warning him to count properly and watch out for any funny busy. Douglas turns, putting a foot on the ropes and leaning over them slightly, to wait for Colin Dzur.]

Peter Santos: And the opponent, making his debut, from Long Island, New York, weighing in at 230 lbs., Colin Dzur!

["Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park explodes from the PA system and the crowd jeer as Colin Dzur comes flying out of the backstage area on a skateboard...he leaps up performing a trip of some kind and pyro explodes behind him. He zooms down the entrance ramp, Steven Douglas laughing at "skater boy" as Colin Dzur skates around the ring, ignoring the fans who are laughing at him.]

JP: Well that must be one of the most original entrances I've ever seen, Colin Dzur has really made an entrance here on Monday Night Dynamite.

Sully: Fair play to the kid for having the guts to ride a skateboard down to the ring.

JP: I guess he's pretty good at skating to be able to do that, he seems to be cutting his time in half...MWF and skating.

Sully: Not to mention he's a future rock star, this kid has his fingers in many pies.

JP: Just twenty-four, this is a massive chance for Colin Dzur to take advantage of Steven Douglas' poor record and inflict yet another defeat.

Sully: We'll see if Douglas' new character is going to working.

[Dzur parks his skateboard and leaps up onto the side of the ring, he takes a moment to look around the ring before stepping into the ring. He smiles to himself and bounces up and down, prepraring himself as referee Chad Pattison checks Steven Douglas for weapons. Douglas draws away from Pattison and shouts at him, Pattison cowers away and calls for the bell. The bell sounds and six thousand fans take their seats, a few cheer for Steven Douglas as he and Colin Dzur lock up. Douglas sends Dzur running straight into the ropes, Colin Dzur comes back and ducks a clothesline...as he bounces back off the ropes again he looks for a bulldog. He manages to get his hands around the neck of Steven Douglas but the crowd cheer as Steven Douglas brings down Colin Dzur in a sidewalk slam. A frustrated Douglas goes for a quick cover, hooking the leg....1......2! Dzur kicks out.]

JP: You can see how desperate Douglas is for this victory, he really wanted it all to be over in that one pinfall.

Sully: That would be far too simple, Colin Dzur might be a rookie but he's not going to go down without a fight.

JP: All that skating must give him pretty good balance and speed.

Sully: Douglas might struggle to keep up...

[Colin Dzur rolls over and gets back to his feet, Douglas grabs him and doesn't let up as he sends Dzur running to the turnbuckle. Dzur slams into the turnbuckle and slumps against it, Douglas comes charging at him and spears him into the turnbuckle. Colin Dzur sinks down to a sitting position, groaning in agony. Steven Douglas turns away and then quickly turns back and slams his boot down into the chest of Dzur, he begins to stomp on Dzur as the crowd roar...counting the stamps of Douglas. Referee Chad Pattison grabs Douglas and pulls him off Dzur, Douglas grabs Pattison by the shirt and screams at him. Pattison pushes Douglas away but Douglas comes straight back and eyeballs Pattison, the match referee orders Steven Douglas to back down.]

JP: Douglas is close to losing this match via disqualification if he carries on like this, it's good to see he wants the win though.

Sully: It must be driving him insane, he's waking up everyday and knowing he doesn't have an MWF victory....and he must walk into the locker room and hear everyone talking about his losing streak.

JP: It's one of the worst we've ever seen in the MWF, you don't see many guys lose five in a row but you have to be impressed by his response to it. He's doing the right thing, not running away...just sticking to his task.

Sully: Colin Dzur is a clever guy, look he's used his ring awareness to slip out and catch a breath.

[Steven Douglas turns back and stares at the empty turnbuckle, Colin Dzur is leaning against the guardrail and Douglas eventually spots him after frantically looking around. He slides from the ring and strides over to where Colin Dzur is leaning against the guardrail with security holding back the fans. Chad Pattison roars at Steven Douglas to get back into the ring but the fans respond with a massive cheer as Douglas ignores Pattison and walks straight on over to Dzur. Colin Dzur opens his eyes and the hands of Steven Douglas grab him and sending him running, Dzur goes flying into the ringpost, his head bouncing savagely off the steel. Chad Pattison starts a count........1.......Steven Douglas walks over muttering and cursing.]

JP: He almost took his head off! Steven Douglas has lost all respect for MWF authority, we're seeing all his bottled up anger and aggression coming out in one match.

Sully: There isn't much Dzur can do right now, he's just got to take the pain and try to limit the damage Steven Douglas can do.

JP: The damage from a figure four leglock can be very very bad, and that's what Douglas is about to do...

[Colin Dzur finds his legs grabbed from behind and Steven Douglas locks in a figure four leglock, prompting huge cheers from the crowd..........2........Dzur is dragged away from the ring apron and is on the bare concrete as he taps out madly, but there is nothing Chad Pattison can do except for to keep counting as Douglas looks to break Colin Dzur in half...........3..............4..........the hold is still locked in, Dzur is unable to do anything as Douglas roars and screams for Dzur to just disappear, Douglas' face is a picture of rage as he rears back and the hold increases in strength........5.........the legs of Dzur are moving as he attempts to turn the move over but there is nothing he can do............6..........Douglas releases the hold and Dzur rolls away clutching his legs.]

Sully: That is a lucky break for Colin Dzur, he can really get back to business now.

JP: If he can make it back inside the ring in time, which I wouldn't bet on, he's in pretty bad shape after Steven Douglas' incredible start.

Sully: He's come out of the blocks quickly, but there is something about Steven Douglas in a match....

JP: ....something always goes wrong?

Sully: Yeah that might just be it!

[............7...........Steven Douglas rolls back into the ring and begins to watch nervously as Colin Dzur is left on the outside, holding his leg in agony as Chad Pattison booms out the count, with the crowd joining in. The smile on Steven Douglas' face is growing larger and larger as ...........8.............is called and Colin Dzur is still only just beginning to stir, the whites of Steven Douglas' teeth are clear to be seen as Dzur struggles onto his knees...........9............the crowd are beginning to roar as Steven Douglas closes his eyes, raises his arms in the air and whoops with delight at his first victory, everyone waits for the count of ........10........but Chad Pattison doesn't call it. Colin Dzur slides under the bottom rope just in the nick of time and the crowd explode with anger, Steven Douglas just stares at Dzur in disbelief.]

JP: Steven Douglas will take a victory by whatever means necessary and if that means winning by count out he'll glad take it.

Sully: It'd be a cheap way to win, especially as he's been in such control of the match.

JP: He's just lost that control, Douglas is stunned, absolutly stunned at what just happened.

Sully: Can you blame him? He thought he'd just won his first MWF match but the cruel hand of fate once again turned against him.

[Colin Dzur lands a kick into the mid section of a still stunned Douglas and the crowd jeer as locks in a grapple, slides behind Douglas and from behind executes a half nelson facebuster that leaves Douglas down and holding his face on the mat. Dzur clambers to his feet, his leg dragging slightly as he limps towards the turnbuckle...Chad Pattison watches as Colin Dzur begins to climb the ropes. He reaches the second rope, breathes deeply and climbs up onto the top rope, he shouts down at the grounded Steven Douglas.]

JP: Dzur is going all out, funny how these matches can turn around in a moments notice.

Sully: Sign of a newly confident Colin Dzur, he's quite a high flyer when he gets into his stride....unfortunatly it seems as if that figure four leg lock from Steven Douglas has disrupted his stride greatly.

[Colin Dzur is about to leap off the turnbuckle when his leg collapses, he screams with pain as he is straddled atop the turnbuckle. Chad Pattison looks worriedly over, as Steven Douglas begins to get to his feet. Colin Dzur shakes his head and attempts to get down from the turnbuckle but his right leg has gone to sleep....he is stranded as Steven Douglas gets to his feet, turning with a wild look in his eyes. Douglas spits in the direction of Douglas and the crowd are cheering as he runs over to the turnbuckle and leaps up onto the second rope. Dzur lands a fist on the head of Douglas but Steven Douglas ignores it and climbs up onto the top rope with Colin Dzur. The crowd roar as Colin Dzur is pummelled by the aggressive Steven Douglas who grabs Colin Dzur by the head and leaps backwards.....the cameras flash as a spectacular hurricanrana takes Colin Dzur crashing down onto the mat! Steven Douglas lands slightly away from Colin Dzur but manages to get his arm across the chest of Colin Dzur...Chad Pattison counts.....1......2.....! At the last possible second the crowd scream as Colin Dzur gets the shoulder up!]

JP: Oh no! Oh no! Colin Dzur has got out, he's managed to get out of the pin.

Sully: This man is beginning to show resiliance and Steven Douglas must be close to breaking point....every attack he hits Colin Dzur with it just isn't doing enough.

JP: That hurricanrana was something special but yet again it is not good enough to dislodge Colin Dzur from the ring, he's not going to go down on his MWF debut without a fight.

Sully: This is turning into one hell of a fight now, an epic struggle between two men who crave a win.

[Steven Douglas sinks to his knees, holding his head in his hands, he shakes his head in disbelief as Colin Dzur rolls over and grabs the ropes. Dzur attempts to pull himself up but his leg gives way again and he drops screaming to the mat...Chad Pattison looks worriedly at Colin Dzur as he drops down and asks if he is alright to continue. The crowd cheer as Steven Douglas raises his head and walks over, Chad Pattison is hauled out of the way as Douglas grabs the legs of Colin Dzur and the crowd explode as Douglas looks to lock in the Texas Two Step! His new finishing move pulls Colin Dzur away from the ropes and Douglas pulls Dzur's leg up and slams it down into the mat, not once, but twice, before locking in a texas cloverleaf and Colin Dzur screams in agony.]

JP: This is it! This is the moment where Steven Douglas can just about grab that first MWF win...

Sully: ....not if Colin Dzur can grab those ropes to save himself, he's going to need all his awareness and strength to make it out of the Texas Two Step.

JP: This is the first time we've seen this move executed on MWF television and it's devestating Colin Dzur, look at the agony on his face.

Sully: It might just propel him to greatness, Dzur isn't going down yet...he's still got some fight left in him.

[The Texas Two Step is sucking the life out of Colin Dzur, the crowd are on their feet cheering Steven Douglas on as he increases the pressure even more. Dzur reaches for the ropes but he's in the centre of the ring, Chad Pattison is watching the hand of Dzur as it begins to fade...Pattison advises Dzur and the crowd explode as the bell sounds and Dzur's hand taps madly on the canvas. Steven Douglas wrenches the move one last time before pulling himself off the body of Colin Dzur and rising to have his hand taken by Chad Pattison and raised into the air.]

JP: He's done it! Steven Douglas has picked up his first MWF win....

Sully: ....what a match, that was a fascinating contest between two men who needed the win and in the end it is the reformed Steven Douglas that manages it.

JP: I can't believe it, six matches and he's finally got it.

Sully: What a lucky guy, Colin Dzur put up a great fight and can take a lot of heart from this match.

[Steven Douglas looks up at the arena roof as the voice of Peter Santos rings through his ears...]

Peter Santos: And your winner, through submission, Steven Douglas!

[A huge roar goes up from the fans and a look of sheer relief comes across the face of Steven Douglas he drops to his knees. He holds his head in his hands and appears to be crying with relief at having won his first match.]

JP: This is an emotional match for Steven Douglas, he's been through so much to get to this point and now he's here in the MWF ring, with six days left until MAYhem and he's damn well done it.

Sully: Credit to him for coming back, but what about the performance of Colin Dzur, he was right in this match and was not outclassed towards the end.

JP: Douglas took it by the scruff of the neck at the start, Dzur took a beating tonight but he keeps some dignity in a strong performance, the way he came back was stunning.

Sully: It was that leg lock that crippled Dzur, he is a wrestler who needs speed and Douglas took that away from him.

JP: Douglas can move on now, he's off the mark and I don't think he'll be able to describe how relieved he is after that win.

Sully: It's been a long time coming that's for sure, I can't remember a wrestler who has waited so long for a win since joining the MWF.

JP: It's some kind of record that's for sure, I think we all need a break after that scintilating match.
