MWF Television Champion: "Wildfire" Wesley Croft
versus
MWF Tag Team Champion: "Hardcore Living Legend" Insane
Wayne
MWF Television Championship Match
Referee: Charles Galliant
Writer: Paddy Stoate
JP: Well, folks, here we are! Wesley Croft,
as 'Wildfire' is calling himself nowadays, defending his Television
Title for the first time against Insane Wayne!
Sully: Wayne has never held the TV Title,
and my bet is, JP, that this is just gonna be another one of those
disappointments for Wayne.
JP: Sully, you shouldn't count against
Wayne, he is tough, fierce and one hell of a competitor!
Peter Santos: Ladies and gentlemen, the following matchup is
scheduled for one fall, and it is for the Maximum Wrestling
Federation Television Championship! Introducing first, the
challenger, from The Miseries, Florida, weighing in at two hundred
and seventy five pounds, InsaaaaaaneWayne!
[The crowd go absolutely ballistic as 'My Sacrifice' by Creed hits
the PA, then even more ballistic as 'The HardCore Living Legend'
steps out onto the ramp, wearing black trousers with 'WaYnE' written
down the side. He wears also a black vest, á la Stone Cold. He
raises his arms, looking solemnly ready, and makes his way quickly
down the ramp. After sliding into the ring, he jumps to his feet and
heads for a turnbuckle, and his arms are raised whenBOOOM! An
enormous pyro blasts from the entrance way, zooming over the heads of
the audience, who, for the most part, boo, as 'The Beautiful People'
by Marilyn Manson interrupts Wayne's music, and Wesley "'Wildfire'"
Croft steps out, holding his Television Title. He is dressed in his
usual black shorts and boots.]
Peter Santos: And his opponent, from Detroit, Michigan,
weighing in at two hundred and eleven pounds, 'Wildfire',
WesleyCroft!
[Croft walks down the ramp slowly, taking his time, eyes locked
with those of Wayne, the challenger. Croft finally reaches the ring,
and walks up the steps, very slowly putting one leg on the second
rope and swinging his body underneath the top, followed by his other
leg, effectively climbing into the ring. During this process, the
eyes never break contact. Referee Charles Galliant raises the TV
Title high into the air, and the camera focuses on it.]
JP: That, my friends, is the prize that
these two former friends are fighting for tonight. Any mutual
respect, liking or emotion is put aside for this match. This is
business.
Sully: Yeah, Wesley Croft's business! It's
none of Wayne's business! It's Croft's title, and Wayne does not
deserve it!
JP: doesn't deserve it? Wayne is one of the
most deserving people there is! But anyway, the match has started,
and Croft is offering Wayne his chin? He wants him to hit him with
his best- Oh! What a right hand by Wayne, and we're off!
[The right had sends Wesley into the corner, where he clutches the
turnbuckle. He composes himself quickly though, and makes his way
back toward Insane Wayne. They circle each other, before locking up,
Wayne shoving Croft back to the corner and pushing on his chin, but
they are broken up by the referee. Once again, they lock up in the
centre of the ring, and Wayne puts Croft in a headlock. However,
Croft pushes Wayne off the ropes, and hits the ground as Wayne comes
back, jumping over him. Wayne now bounces off the other ropes,
walking straight into a lovely Dropkick from Croft.]
JP: Nice dropkick from Croft, but it's not
enough to keep Wayne down; he's up already!
[Indeed he is, and they falter, glaring at each other, much to the
cheers of the intrigued crowd. Circling once again, Croft goes for a
left hand of his own, but Wayne scouts it, dodging and landing a
powerful back elbow to the back of Wes's head. This sends him into
the ropes, off which he tumbles, running smack into a clothesline.
Wayne goes for the early cover, 1, 2 and Wes kicks out.]
JP: Smart move by Wayne there, Sully, making
Croft kick out. The more pressure he applies with pin attempts, the
more Croft has to expend energy kicking out!
[Wayne picks 'Wildfire' up and smacks him upside the head with his
forearm, sending him reeling into the rope again. This time, however,
he clings onto it, only letting go when Wayne grabs him by his short
hair. When this happens, Wesley's eyes light up, and he finally
begins to look truly focused. Wayne whips him across the ring, but he
reverses, ducking a clothesline and hitting another Dropkick, which
knocks Wayne backwards. Mr Croft now begins to go to work, running at
"The HardCore Living Legend" and hitting him with punches, raining
down blow after blow, but, to the cheers of the fans, Wayne shoves
him off. This does not buy much time though, as 'Wildfire' comes
right back, hailing down on the larger man with his left hand, then
switching to stomping on the back of the now fallen Wayne. Taking a
look at the opposite side of the ring, he grins, and runs. Bouncing
off the opposite ropes, he lands a nice running kick to the ribs,
which sends Wayne rolling onto the apron underneath the ropes.
'Wildfire' raises his arms in a taunt to the crowd, but receives a
boo for his troubles. Scowling, he rolls out of the ring and turns to
Wayne, who is on his back, half in the ring, half out. Wesley Croft
now backs up, and, with a runup, swings his leg at the head of Insane
Wayne. However, at the last possible second, the latter moves, and
Croft's knee connects with the ring post!]
Sully: No!
JP: That's gotta hurt! Insane Wayne using
great ring presence there!
[Croft is on the floor, crying out and holding his knee, and Wayne
has rolled back into the ring. The count reaches three, and Wayne is
on his knees, hands on hips, regaining his breath. On five, he climbs
out of the ring and grabs Wesley, dragging him over to the Spanish
announcers' table.]
Sully: Not over here, Wayne, you
idiot!
JP: The tables have turned now!
[Wayne drags Croft by the hair, pulling his head up and slamming
it viciously upon the surface of the table. He then proceeds to
remove all monitors and microphones from the table, clearing it
completely, and picks up 'Wildfire' again. Hitting his head on the
table again, he rolls him onto it, and climbs up too. Signalling the
Piledriver, he sets up Mr Croft, much to the delight of the screaming
fans. However, as he is about to lift 'Wildfire', the smaller man
reverses, standing straight and throwing Wayne off the table and onto
the concrete floor below! "'Wildfire'" collapses on the table, trying
to get his breath back. The count has reached eight, and Wayne knows
that a draw would lose him the Title. So, he pulls himself to his
feet and rolls into the ring, then rolls out again, moving over to
Wesley Croft. He pulls him off the able and rolls him into the ring,
going for the cover. 1..2..Croft kicks out. Slowly picking himself up
and composing himself, Wayne regards the stirring Champion, and waits
for him to stand. Croft does so, and turns, walking straight into a
massive Vertical Suplex from Insane Wayne, a suplex that shakes the
ring, and the arena itself.]
JP: Oh wow! That was a mighty suplex from
Insane Wayne, I wouldn't be surprised if that was all!
Sully: No way! Croft's got it
covered.
[The cover is made, 1..2..Croft just gets the shoulder up. Wayne
doesn't look happy. He glares up at Galliant, who signals the two
count. Angered, Wayne stands and rags 'Wildfire' to the corner, where
he sets him up on the turnbuckle. He hits a powerful right hand that
almost knocks 'Wildfire' off the top rope. Wayne then stands too,
holding 'Wildfire' in the Suplex position, and is about to land it
when 'Wildfire' hits him in the stomach, once, twice, three times,
knocking him down. Wayne lies on his back as the crowd jeer; Wesley
Croft taunts them, and leaps, seeming to hang in the air before
landing the Crisis!]
Sully: Crisis! Crisis! Croft's got
it!
JP: There's the cover, 12WAYNE KICKS OUT!
WAYNE KICKS OUT OF THE CRISIS!
Sully: No!
[Wayne does indeed kick out of the Crisis; the fans go absolutely
nuts, and Wesley tumbles off him, almost crying with frustration. He
pounds the canvas, screaming at the referee, who shows him the two
fingers.]
JP: Let's take a look at that replay folks,
here's the Crisis, and here's when Insane Wayne had the intestinal
fortitude to kick out!
Sully: He got lucky. It was a spasm, not a
kick out!
[Wesley Croft now goes up to the top rope, climbing very slowly
now: he is in bad shape. Wayne very gradually gets up, to be hit with
a nice Dropkick from the top rope, which sends him tumbling out of
the ring. Croft follows, rolling him onto the table which has already
been cleared.]
Sully: Yes, Wes, that's the way!
JP: Oh crap, this doesn't look good for
Wayne!
[Wesley leaves Wayne on the table and gets back into the ring,
climbing the turnbuckle nearest the table. The fans are going wild as
Croft pauses, breathing heavily, and contemplating the consequences
of the risk he is about to take: Possible win versus definite pain.
Possible win is the victor, and Croft leaps again, flying through the
air and landing the Crisis through the table!]
JP: MY GOD! MY GOD! Crisis! Crisis through
that damn table!
Sully: It's over, JP! It's over!
[Both men are practically out cold, 'Wildfire' just awake enough
to clutch his bruised ribs, Wayne on his back with his eyes open,
staring at the lights in the ceiling of the arena.]
Sully: Remember, folks at home, you can't be
disqualified for using the Announce tables, thankfully!
JP: Croft should be disqualified for that
despicable move!
Sully: It's exactly what Wayne was going to
do earlier, remember?
[Medics are all over the two combatants, who are stirring. Very,
very slowly, 'Wildfire' gets up, rolling into the ring just as
Galliant counts the nine, then out again to restart the count, then
back in again. He rolls into the centre of the ring and lays there,
facing the ceiling, but gets a shock as Wayne appears on the inner
side of the apron. He lays there, eyes locked with those of Wesley.
One pair of eyes full of anger, the other of hate, both of pain.
Croft now drags himself to his feet, watching Wayne. He spits on the
fallen man on his way to the turnbuckle, which he climbs, reaching
the top rope on will power alone. Wayne is almost on his feet, now
actually on his feet, and turns. He turns right into a Huracanrana
from 'Wildfire'! But no! He reverses with the CIW!]
JP: CIW! CIW! CIW!
Sully: NO! NO! NO!
[Charles Galliant counts, 12Kick out! Wesley Croft just kicked
out of the CIW! Both men, Wayne and Wesley, challenger and champion,
lay out flat on the canvas, Wayne making a weak protest, climbing to
his feet, before making a much stronger protest, screaming at the
referee, who backs away. Suddenly, though, his knee gives out, and he
cries out, falling and landing on Galliant, who collapses. Wayne lies
on his back, holding his knee and yelling in pain, in agony. Finally,
it seems to get better, and he is able to stand, putting his weight
on his other leg. On the other side of the ring, 'Wildfire' has
stirred, reaching under the ring and grabbing a chair!]
JP: Oh, what's this?
Sully: It's a chair, JP.
JP: It's cheating, that's what it is!
[Wayne seems to have the same idea, however, and also grabs a
chair. Unbeknownst to each other, they back up towards one another,
turning at the same time and swinging. They both hit each others'
chairs. This stings their hands, and they drop the chairs. Wayne
kicks Wesley Croft in the midsection, and looks like he is going for
a Powerbomb, but Croft reverses, landing a Low Blow! Wayne collapses,
holding his family jewels, and Croft goes for the chair. Ginning
evilly, he raises it, and smashes it down on Wayne's knee! Wayne
screams in agony as Croft drops the chair and raises his arms, much
to the chagrin of the viciously booing crowd. He picks up Wayne, and
swings his leg for the Chin Up, but Wayne ducks, spinning Croft
around. 'Wildfire' goes 360 degrees, and spins right into the CIW!]
JP: CIW! IT'S OVER!
Sully: It can't be!
[Charles Galliant crawls over. 123!! We have a new Television
Champion!!]
Peter Santos: And your winner, through pinfall, and new Maximum
Wrestling Federation Television Champion, Insane Wayne!
JP: WAYNE WINS! WAYNE WINS! WAYNE
WINS!
Sully: Wesley! No!
[Wayne is handed the Title and slowly gets to his feet, holding
his badly injured knee. He carefully puts his weight on his good leg,
and makes his way to a turnbuckle, raises the Title to the strains of
Creed's 'My Sacrifice'.]
