MWF Television Champion: "GMS" Gunman Stinger and "Hardcore Legend" Insane
Wayne
versus
"The Enervator" Steven Douglas
Handicap Match
Referee: Charles Galliant
Writer: Dom Stoate
[After the tag team make their entrance, they jeer the audience for a short
time before finally making their way into the ring in which they have to fight
their first match together. They talk to each other as they stand in one corner
of the ring, apparently discussing match tactics.]
JP: I find it amazing that Insane Wayne could easily
switch from being a President to being a member of the fighting roster.
Sully: Well, it s not like he wasn't fighting when he was the President.
JP: He was not even allowed to, but he did.
Sully: Stop taking out your frustrations on Wayne, JP. He's a great wrestler and
one hell of a classy guy.
JP: I never said he wasn't a talented wrestler, I just doubt his personality
traits. He was aware that if he was to be the President, then, whilst in that
position, he was never to wrestle, and he did. It was that lack of commitment to
his word that put me off him.
Sully: But he s not the President now. He s not the President, he's here to
fight and he s here to win, and I think with Gunman Stinger at his side, he
could well be able to do that tonight.
JP: Against Steven Douglas- an individual very much on fire as of late-, who-
[And speak of the devil, Steven Douglas makes his appearance at the top of the
ramp. That, of course, is after his music hits, coursing through the arena,
causing the audience to cynically jeer. Steven Douglas steps out onto the ramp,
hands outstretched as he observes the masses that have gathered for Dynamite.
Insane Wayne, eyes on the person at the top of the ramp, would say something
aside to his partner who nods in agreement and turns around, ducking under the
rope that separates the legal competitors from those waiting to get in on the
action.]
JP: And here he is. Here he is, ready and waiting to get
in on the action. He's not my most favourite wrestler of all time. He s very
unfair to the audience that have, often, stood by him. He doesn't t care for
anyone other than himself. If only he took on the approach that The Master Plan
are using. I didn't t think they, of all people, would be turning to favour the
audience. If they could do it and improve their game with the help of the
audience like they have, then surely Steven Douglas could as well!
Sully: Maybe he doesn't t want to. Maybe he doesn't t need the help of the fans.
He seems to be doing just fine on his own. Let him play the way he does. It's
getting him results, after all.
[Steven Douglas eventually makes it down to the ring and waits outside of it for
the time being, pointing and gesturing to Insane Wayne who stands on his own in
the ring, waiting for him. Douglas slides beneath the bottom rope, adjusting his
attire slightly as he stands up in the ring, observing Wayne as if weighing up
options. He would smile casually, turning around to drop a towel that he had
brought to the ring into the corner before, biting his lower lip, turning around
to observe Wayne and his partner who, once again, are having an altercation in
the corner.]
JP: No matter their reputations, this match is going to be
a cracker, I'm sure.
Sully: I just think that Wayne and Stinger are going to be too much for Douglas.
These are two of the greatest competitors in the MWF today. They are huge
talent, both old and relatively new. They will certainly be causing Douglas
problems and will not spare anything for him.
JP: You could be right. They certainly have the experience and the numbers.
Let's not forget that it s a handicap tag match. Douglas has no one in his
corner and he is going to really feel that when Wayne displays his luxury of
being able to make the tag.
[At long last, the bell rings and Douglas, adjusting the strap of his singlet
would smile confidently as Insane Wayne steps up, getting a few last words of
encouragement from Gunman Stinger as he does. The two would step into the middle
of the ring, both with confident smiles on their faces as the referee steps
back. The two would commence the match, all four hands shared between them
meeting in between the two bodies as the two men grapple. It is Wayne that gets
the upper hand, using his height to his advantage and powering over Douglas who
is forced onto his knees on the canvas, teeth bared, smile gone from his face as
Wayne gets the upper hand. The hand grapple is turned into a tight arm bar that
forces Steven Douglas to sink even lower onto his knees, crouched there,
helpless as Wayne slams a hand onto the back of his shoulder, sending him
face-first into the canvas.]
JP: A good shot there from Wayne who looks to be trying to
take out Douglas arms early on.
[Wayne outstretches his arms, a big grin on his face as he barks some
celebratory roar out to the audience. The audience react with a roar of their
own, but not in celebration for Wayne grounding the other big man to the mat.
They roar with their own hate of Wayne who has been upsetting the audience more
and more recently. He would shake his head before turning back to Douglas.
Gunman turns around to observe the group of fans behind him, clapping his hands
and yelling at them to start appreciating Wayne's work in the ring. Wayne leans
down, grabbing onto the short crop of hair on the top of Douglas s head,
dragging him to his feet. Douglas is slugging to react and takes a shot across
the face from Wayne, sending him onto the ring mat, body heaving in and out with
breath, eyes wide as he winces in the aftermath of the blow. Wayne tries the
audience for a good reaction again, leaning his head back and crying out, hoping
to hear a roar of appreciation as a reply. All he gets is a loud jeer and,
pretty soon, chants of Wayne sucks! start to circulate around the arena. Wayne
turns his attention away from Douglas
for the time being, raising a finger to his pursed lips in an attempt to quiet
the fans. This only heats them up and they even seem to cheer for Douglas, who
is very much the underdog here as he slides over and grabs Wayne, rolling him up
for a sneaky pin attempt. The referee hits the deck and starts the count.1
2..-Wayne kicks out shortly before 3, much to the discontent of the fans.]
JP: A close and sudden call there for Wayne who just about
manages to kick out of a smart pin attempt from Douglas.
Sully: It'll take more than that to take Wayne out. But what is up with these
fans? What is their problem?
JP: They don't like the man, and I don t much either.
Sully: You want to know what you and the fans have in common, JP?
JP: Do I? Know, not really.
Sully: You re both so damned fickle. You change your opinions about wrestlers so
frequently and at the drop of a hat. It s a really sickening attitude to have,
you know.
[Wayne picks himself up and leisurely walks over to make the tag. He slaps the
outstretched hand of Gunman Stinger who ducks beneath the top rope and moves
quickly towards Douglas who is yet to stand up fully. Gunman would grab him by
the shoulder, pushing him backwards. Douglas stumbles, finding his feet on the
way and is backed into a corner by the advancing Stinger who raises a forearm
and slams it across the chest of his opponent. The fans woop! as it makes a
thunderous impact and do so again as Gunman hits him with another and then
another. Stinger takes the time to turn around and jeer the opponents, arms
raised as he yells. And it is then that Douglas makes his move, straightening up
in the corner and slamming his own forearm across the chest of Gunman. Gunman
cries out and stumbles backwards, allowing Douglas to move forwards, hitting him
with another chop as they approach the centre of the ring.]
JP: Steven Douglas finally finding it in himself to fight
back here.
[The fans seem to be getting behind him as well. He was the underdog and they
begin to chant his name slightly, a chant that is quickly hushed as Douglas
turns around and gestures rudely at them. They commence booing Douglas who turns
around, receiving a shot to the face from Stinger.]
JP: Douglas not taking advantage of the rapport he is
slowly building with the fans. Brushing them aside.
[Douglas replies with a punch of his own and this shot knocks Gunman towards his
own corner, clutching to his face. Douglas turns around, arms
outstretched as he yells: I DON'T NEED ANYBODY. Gunman, laying on his front,
reaches out a hand and Wayne helps himself to a tag, ducking beneath the bottom
rope and surging towards Douglas. Douglas proves too quick, though, and ducks
beneath the onrushing arm and then stands back up, lifting Wayne up with him and
tossing him off so that he lands a foot or two behind him on his back. Gunman is
in next, rushing forwards, attempting to strike Steven down. He is as
unsuccessful as Wayne and ends up on his back after Douglas ducks and whips out
a fist, knocking him back.]
JP: Douglas proving what a speedy and dangerous character
he is, stalking Wayne. He's gesturing for him to stand and I think he wants to
put this one
away early!
[He would wait behind Wayne, urging him to stand as he leans forwards, hands
raised in a c'mon! gesture. Eventually Wayne stands up and is met by Douglas who
ducks down low, managing, somehow, to scoop the bigger and heavier man up onto
his shoulders. The fans begin to hum with anticipation as Douglas roars, ready
to land The Killing Spree, but is interrupted as Gunman runs forwards and spears
him, knocking Wayne on top of Douglas. Gunman rolls out of the ring and the
referee makes the count.1 .2 Steven Douglas just manages to get the shoulder
up!]
JP: That was a close call there!
Sully: People accuse Gunman Stinger of lacking intelligence. I just don't see
how they could do that after seeing such a display of wrestling prowess and ring
awareness.
JP: Well, he certainly did well there to turn what could have been the end for
this tag team into a potential win, and this match is still on.
[Wayne rolls off Douglas, sitting up and cradling his head. Douglas just remains
laying on the canvas for a little bit, breathing in heavily. Gunman is back on
the outside, hand and arm outstretched as he waits for the tag, bouncing up and
down on the spot. Wayne gradually makes it towards the corner and makes the tag
and Stinger rushes in.]
JP: This is what I was saying. Steven Douglas does not
have a tag team partner and, after seeing Wayne tag Gunman in, he must really be
feeling it.
[Stinger shows remarkable resilience to the blows he took earlier and rushes in,
grabbing Douglas by the hair before delivering a massive kick to the head that
knocks him down onto the ring mat. Gunman does not waste any time this time and
leans down, latching his hands onto Douglas shoulder and dragging him to his
feet. Once again he would move him towards the turnbuckle. He would turn the
weary Douglas around before latching his arms around him. He would bellow
something to the fans before sending his body backwards, Douglas s head
connecting with the ring mat hard as Gunman executes a perfect German suplex. He
does not let go though and begins to stand, pulling Douglas with him as he does
before hauling him backwards and sending him head first into the mat with a
second German suplex. The ring shakes with every movement and they begin to
stand again, Gunman landing a third and final German suplex that seems to be the
most effective of all, Steven Douglas hitting the mat hard and staying there,
laying on his front as Gunman, body heaving in and out with breath, stands up,
only to drop down to his knees, roll over his opponent and make the cover with
the leg hooked....1... 2 -Douglas kicks out for the third time in the match! The
fans cheer him on again, despite his earlier disagreement with them earlier, as
Douglas tries to make it to his feet. It is Stinger that gets up first, though,
picking himself up and shaking his head in disbelief. He launches a kick,
slamming his foot across the back of Douglas who has since sat up. He lays back
down again after this, though, rolling onto his side as he screams in pain.
Gunman moves towards the turnbuckle and tags the awaiting Wayne in who climbs
above the top rope and quickly moves towards
Douglas who is slowly dragging himself to his feet. He would help him up,
pulling up his head before slamming a fist across it, knocking Douglas back into
the ropes where he leans. If anything, this seems to wake him up and he
demonstrates his superior speed soon after, ducking beneath the arm of Wayne and
getting behind him. Wayne turns around and is, as before, hoisted up onto the
shoulders of Douglas. The fans get behind him again as he roars in effort to
keep the big man held there. Gunman runs into the ring again, but Douglas sees
him this time, raising a foot and hitting a big boot on Gunman that sees him hit
the deck and roll out of the ring. He would cry out in effort again, lifting
Wayne that little bit more that is necessary when hitting the Killing Spree! He
hits it hard and Wayne hits the canvas beneath Douglas who just lays there,
going for the cover....1... 2 Wayne gets the shoulder up, though. Douglas rolls
onto his back, moving away from the larger man, hands covering his face in
despair.]
JP: SO CLOSE. So close to a pin fall there for Douglas,
who almost came out an unlikely winner in this handicap match.
[Still completely stunned, Gunman is out of the equation on the outside of the
ring, leaving Douglas and Wayne the only two that seem capable of conscious
movement for the time being. Douglas seems as bad as Wayne in terms of fatigue,
Insane Wayne managing to recover well from the move, demonstrating his
endurance. They both pretty much stand at the same time, but it is Wayne that
makes the first move, nailing Douglas with a shot to the midsection before going
to hit him with The 666. Douglas manages to pull out of the way in time, leaving
Wayne to hit the ground on his own in a sitting position, looking stunned and
slightly confused. Douglas acts quickly, bouncing off the ropes behind him
before hitting a drop kick to the face, leaving Wayne sprawled out on the mat.]
JP: What a shot, and Douglas has him right where he wants
him!
Sully: Don t be so sure, JP!
[Gunman, by now, is starting to stir on the outside, but that doesn't t seem to
matter as Douglas waits for Wayne to find a standing position. Wayne, clutching
to his face, would wince, hand gripping onto the ropes for support, unaware of
what lurks behind him. Douglas seizes the opportunity, thrusting a hand onto the
throat of Wayne who is now stood up and turned around, ready to land the To Hell
And Back! But it doesn't t all go to plan as Stinger clambers into the ring and
strikes Douglas across the back of the head. The shot seems suspiciously
effective as Douglas collapses onto the ring mat, dropping Wayne who hits the
deck as well. Gunman rolls out of the ring and crouches behind the apron,
fiddling with something. Caught clearly on camera are a set of brass knucks that
he takes from his fist and tosses under the ring apron. The fans see it and
start to make a fuss, especially as Gunman stands up and rolls into the ring.
The count is continued by the referee as the two legal men lay in the
middle of the ring.]
JP: He used brass knucks! I can't believe that cheat!
Sully: Hah-hah! Great move. I told you he was smart.
JP: He's a damn cheat.
[Gunman leans down, dragging Wayne towards their corner before climbing out of
the ring, leaning down and slapping the back of his partner, making the
tag. He immediately moves over to Douglas, making the cover....1... 2 Douglas,
again, gets the shoulder up, much to the disbelief of Stinger who kneels up,
shaking his head.]
JP: And he's still in it! Steven Douglas is still in with
a shout!
[Gunman, shaking his head, would stand up, moving towards the turnbuckle before
climbing up onto it, waiting for Douglas to stand. He turns around, getting some
abuse from the audience, not really thinking that Douglas would have the energy
or spirit to stand as quickly and suddenly as he does. He turns around just in
time to be met by a flying fist of Douglas, upsetting his balance on the
turnbuckle. Blood is running freely down the back of Douglas' head but it
doesn't t faze him as he grabs onto Stinger from the turnbuckle and carries him
(notably, with greater ease than when he carried Wayne) on his shoulders towards
the centre of the ring. With his last energy, he lifts him up, hauling him
upwards and hitting The Killing Spree. He drops down with Gunman who, limbs
splayed, lays on the canvas. Douglas has not the energy to hook the leg but just
remains laying on his opponent as the referee makes the count. 1... 2... 3!!
Wayne is helpless on the outside, laid on the ground, finding it hard to recover
from the match, perhaps showing his lack of ring fitness after his run as
President.]
JP: He's done it! He beat the odds and came out on top!
Sully: I can't believe it!
[Douglas' arm is raised as he lays on the canvas, but he doesn't t seem to have
the energy to stand.]
Peter Santos: And your winner, through pin fall, Steven Douglas!
JP: Well, like him or not, folks, Steven Douglas has
beaten the odds and come out the winner, and what better way to win a match,
then to hit your dirty, cheating opponent with a Killing Spree?
Sully: Insane Wayne is going to be furious, first he
gets his car smashed up and now he's been beaten by Steven Douglas.
JP: In a handicap match as well, it's almost impressive
that Wayne lost this one.
Sully: I think it was more Gunman Stinger than Wayne.
JP: You can't blame "GMS", it's a team effort...just
because it was Gunman who got pinned.
Sully: It's the way it goes, if you get pinned you are
the weaker man.
JP: Wayne's going to be furious next week and he might
find out who this "Kovenant" are that smashed up his car.
Sully: Well, he might do...but then again he might not,
it depends if they decide to make an appearance.
JP: I'd put good money that they will appear...
Sully: ...if they do then Insane Wayne will be ready
for them.
JP: We'll see you next week for more Japanese action,
it's going to be a night to remember that's for sure.
Sully: Insane Wayne will be on the lookout for this
"Kovenant" and ViperJ will have another chance at the MWF Xtreme Championship
after overcoming Stud an Seraph in a brutal match.
JP: See you next week! And don't forget, Father John
Ramsey versus Tempest for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship number one
contender spot....the winner will go onto March Madness to face, Thunder Bull.
