MWF World Heavyweight Champion: "The Deadly One" Doomsday

versus

Father John Ramsey

Non - Title Last Man Standing Match

Referee: Grant August

Writer: Ed Walker

JP: This match is going be fantastic, people don't realise how popular these two guys are.

Sully: Doomsday is the MWF World Heavyweight Champion and a legend in the MWF history books, he's won everything there is to win...including the MWF World Heavyweight Championship twice!

JP: Father John Ramsey is still a rookie compared to Doomsday.

Sully: A talented one though, that priest is quite a fighter for a man of the cloth.

JP: He's been calling for a change in the match, he feels it is not right to be in a last man standing match against man he has no problem with.

Sully: I call that cowardice.

JP: Why would he be scared of Doomsday? Ramsey fears nothing...except the devil.

Sully: Ramsey is a nutcase in truth, a talented nutcase with a bible.

[Peter Santos is in the centre of the ring and MWF's announcer, with a veteran one hundred shows under his belt, bellows around the arena.]

Peter Santos: This match is a non-title last man standing match, introducing first, from New York City, weighing in at 310 lbs., he is the Maximum Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Champion, "The Deadly One" Doomsday!

["You Know You're Right" by Nirvana hits the PA system as Doomsday walks out onto the entrance way as red fireworks shoot upwards and connect with other fireworks in the arena rafters that shower down red and black confetti onto the MWF World Heavyweight Champion. Doomsday smiles and takes his MWF World Heavyweight Championship belt from his shoulder and swings it in the air for the crowd to see.]

JP: This is the man keeping Thunder Bull away from what he feels is his.

Sully: What a match last week, Pure Hell it was as these two battled it out.

JP: I was worried for their safety, Thunder Bull leaping off the top of the cage right onto Doomsday.

Sully: That was just scary! But brilliant at the same time!

[Doomsday has reached the ring, he climbs up and ducks through the middle rope. He is greeted by Grant August who takes the belt from him and the crowd roar as Grant August raises the MWF World Heavyweight Championship into the air, cameras flash as it is passed to the time keeper.]

Peter Santos: And the opponent, weighing in at 163 lbs., from Orlando, Florida, Father John Ramsey!

[A huge cheer goes up from the fans as the sound of a church hymn fills the arena, the MaxiTron displays the words 'All Rise' and the crowd in unison jump to their feet as the music increases in tempo and volume. Gold light shines from the entrance way and from behind the bright lights walks Father John Ramsey, the Bible in one hand and the other hand makes the sign of the cross.]

JP: He's a momentous figure, I know he isn't the biggest guy in the locker room but he scares the life out of most.

Sully: He knows how to talk the talk.

JP: It depends whether he can walk the walk against the MWF World Heavyweight Champion.

Sully: We're going to find out in the best way possible and as Ramsey said, if he wins tonight he could be a step nearer to being the number one contender.

[Ramsey walks down the entrance ramp and the fans extend their hands...Ramsey offers his blessing to a small child in the front row of the entrance ramp seats and she smiles as he shakes her hand. Doomsday has a half-smile on his face at this gesture as the Chicago crowd cheer Ramsey to the ring. Father John Ramsey climbs up the ring steps and steps into the ring, he places his copy of the Bible down under one of the turnbuckles and then removes his priestly robes to reveal a wrestling attire of plain black trunks. Doomsday walks over and extends his hand, the crowd roar as Doomsday and Father John Ramsey shakes hands.]

JP: That's a kodak moment right there.

Sully: Two of the most popular wrestlers in the MWF shaking hands here on the hundreth show of the MWF.

JP: It's a momentous occasion, I didn't think I'd see it happen.

Sully: It doesn't surprise me that much, Doomsday always has respect for his opponents and Ramsey respects the impact Doomsday has had in the Maximum Wrestling Federation.

[Father John Ramsey calls for a mic and is thrown one from the timekeepers table. He raises it to his lips as the sound of hymns fades away and he speaks above the noise of the crowd.]

Ramsey: Good evening my children, or should if I say the Good Lord's children! As we are all but one and the same, even my opponent and I are alike in some way.

[Doomsday nods in a sign of respect to the priest.]

Ramsey: Even I, and that terrible creature, Gutter Rat, are alike in some weird and twisted way!

[This is met with indifferent response as Gutter Rat's popularity shows through and Ramsey looks a little worried about this response. He ignores it and continues.]

Ramsey: Tonight, Doomsday and I face off in a barbaric match. A match that is not suitable to be placed on this show....we have seen many a special match tonight but none of them have really seen any wrestling...

[The crowd sound a little confused, Doomsday is nodding in agreement.]

Ramsey: The MWF World Heavyweight Champion here, he took part in a Pure Hell match last week and he's still here inside the ring preparing to face me in a last man standing match. He still has the cuts and bruises from that battle last week, which he unfortunatly lost, but he is still here and prepared to wrestle me. Yet the MWF CEO and President, they think we should be hitting each other with chairs...

[The crowd pop at the mention of steel chairs, Doomsday touches a sore spot on his neck where some stitches can be seen.]

Ramsey: No! My good people, my good good people...tonight, I am asking for your support. I want you to help me make a change, tonight is full of special matches, but who here wants to see a good old fashioned match, a real slobberknocker, just two men going all out to out-wrestle each other inside the squared circle?

[A huge roar goes up in support of the priest as he paces towards the side of the ring that faces the entrance way, he looks up the entrance ramp with Doomsday standing slightly behind him and roars into the mic.]

Ramsey: So let's see one of the suits down here right now to explain themselves and listen to the people that really count! Those people are God's childr...

[Father John Ramsey is cut off as "Zero" by The Smashing Pumpkins rages through the PA system and images of the MWF CEO and Gutter Rat appear on the MaxiTron. The crowd go wild as the MWF CEO walks out onto the entrance way, he looks to have a spring in his step as he looks out across the Chicago crowd.]

JP: Ramsey and Doomsday are risking Walker's wrath, they want to see this match changed.

Sully: I want to see a last man standing match.

JP: These fans are behind Ramsey and his idea, and rightly so.

Sully: I'm not!

[The MWF CEO raises his mic, Doomsday and Ramsey watch on as Walker speaks.]

Walker: We came here to the Windy City, for a special show. The reason we came here to the Windy City, was because it is these fans that make the MWF tick, it is these people that really keep the company going.

[Ramsey and Doomsday are both nodding in agreement at Walker's words, the fans cheering for the owner of the company.]

Ramsey: I don't dispute that...but we'd just like to see the MWF CEO show a little moderation.

Walker: Moderation?

Ramsey: Yes.

Walker: Father, this is, is it not, the Maximum Wrestling Federation?

Ramsey: Why, yes it is.

Walker: It is not the Moderate Wrestling Federation!

[The fans explode with roars at this comment from the MWF CEO that seems to leave Father John Ramsey speechless for a moment, Doomsday raises an eyebrow at Walker's comment.]

Ramsey: What I'm trying to say is...

Walker: ...Ramsey, you are acting too big for your boots. I respect your position as a man of the people and of the cloth, but the real man of the people is standing right behind you. Doomsday, right there, he is a man of the people because they've watched him through thick and thin. Therefore, the decision rests with the MWF World Heavyweight Champion, not you, priest.

[Doomsday steps up beside Ramsey and plucks the microhpone from his grasp, the fans roar "Doomsday! Doomsday! Doomsday!" as he raises the mic to speak.]

JP: The fans really do love this man.

Sully: And with good reason.

[Father John Ramsey watches carefully as the MWF World Heavyweight Champion speaks.]

Doomsday: I'll do whatever this crowd want me to do tonight.

[Doomsday raises the mic and leans over the ropes...the fans roar "Last Man Standing! Last Man Standing! Last Man Standing!". Doomsday turns to Ramsey who seems stunned that the crowd would follow Doomsday over him.]

Walker: There you have it Father, the MWF fans have spoken and you will battle in a Last Man Standing match!

[The ring bell sounds and Doomsday drops the mic and the two men lock up straight away...Doomsday is clearly the heavier opponent and he forces Ramsey back into the turnbuckle and headbutts him full in the face. Ramsey holds his head and shakes it to stop the blurring in his eyes as Doomsday steps back and hits a right hand to the face of Father John Ramsey.]

JP: Doomsday has got the bit between his teeth, he knows he has to win this one.

Sully: He needs to build momentum ahead of the Thunderdome match that is fast approaching.

JP: It will be Doomsday's next match as the MWF CEO and President have agreed that the MWF will have a two week break over Christmas.

Sully: Yes!

JP: It means Dynamite 101 will now be on Monday 10th January.

Sully: You heard what will be happening on that show apart from the Thunderdome?

JP: Nope...

Sully: ...Walker's question time! Every member of the roster and staff are allowed to ask the CEO one question and he'll answer it honestly.

[Doomsday pulls Ramsey away from the turnbuckle, the crowd cheer as the MWF World Heavyweight Champion hooks his arm around Ramsey's neck and jumps back, executing a DDT onto the canvas. Ramsey holds his head but gets straight back to his feet..]

JP: Ramsey won't go down that easily, he knows he doesn't want to lose such an important match.

Sully: The eyes of the wrestling world are upon the MWF tonight in Chicago.

JP: Especially those of the PWI and PX management, rumours have it that a bidding war could break out to see which company will sign up the MWF to it's scheme.

Sully: I heard Walker turned down a deal with Projekt Xero....

[The MWF World Heavyweight Champion grabs Father John Ramsey and the crowd cheer as the priest is sent running into the ropes, he comes back and uses his agility to dodge a forearm from "The Deadly One" and he ducks round behind Doomsday. Doomsday attempts to turn round but his arm is grabbed and a fireman's carry sends Doomsday over Ramsey's shoulders and onto the mat. The move stuns Doomsday for a moment and Ramsey takes advantage.]

JP: Father John Ramsey really starting to get some momentum back against the MWF World Heavyweight Champion now.

Sully: He's going to mess Doomsday up, this guy can really play with people's heads.

JP: He sure can, but Doomsday has been there and seen it all in the MWF.

Sully: Ramsey is simple, yet effective.

[Ramsey leans down and grabs the right arm of Doomsday, he places it between his legs and the crowd roar as Ramsey rolls down and keeping the arm of Doomsday between his legs, in a scissor-like motion, wrenches it round. Grant August leans down to check the move as Doomsday's eyes bulge wide with pain...Ramsey keeps the move locked in and Doomsday's veins are bulging out of his arms under the strain as Ramsey looks to make Doomsday submit. Doomsday with a great roar manages to push Ramsey away and rolls away holding his right arm.]

JP: That must of been painful for Doomsday, the poor guy has been through pure hell to get through.

Sully: Indeed he has, he must be regretting the chance of putting Thunder Bull away once and for all. I have a feeling that he will come to regret that.

JP: He may well do, but Thunder Bull put in a hell of a performance against the MWF World Heavyweight Champion and did one of the most amazing moves we will see all year when he leapt off the top of that cage.

Sully: I don't think that is the last we'll see of Thunder Bull's risk taking...he and Doomsday are going into the Thunderdome and anything can happen.

[Doomsday is back to his feet, Ramsey circles and the MWF World Heavyweight Champion is knocked down to one knee by a swift kick to the knee from Ramsey. A leg drag sends Doomsday crashing head over heels down onto the mat and Ramsey struts around the fallen Doomsday. Doomsday holds his leg but gets back up to his feet quickly, Ramsey circles around the MWF World Heavyweight Champion and gets behind him. The crowd leap to their feet in excitement as Father John Ramsey locks in a sleeper hold on Doomsday, who attempts to break free straight away but despite being the smaller man the priest manages to keep the hold locked down.]

JP: Ramsey's got the sleeper in!

Sully: It's going to be a one to ten lights out for Doomsday tonight, he's going to lose two straight matches.

JP: That sleeper is just devestating, his arm is locked tight in around Doomsday and the MWF World Heavyweight Champion seems to be fading fast!

Sully: Father John Ramsey, the man of the cloth is really going for it here.

[Ramsey keeps the sleeper locked in and Doomsday is starting to fade and he collapses down to his knees as Ramsey follows him down with the hold locked in. Ramsey cries out to Doomsday to give in but the MWF World Heavyweight Champion is still holding on, his eyes though are slowly closing as his head drops to one side and Ramsey tightens the hold further. The face of Doomsday is becoming blue as he slithers further down and Ramsey releases the hold and Doomsday hits the mat with his face down.]

JP: Ouch!

Sully: That was absolutly locked tight around the neck of Doomsday then, he had no chance.

[Grant August stands over Doomsday and raises his arms, he starts the count and the crowd watch on as .....1....2....3.....4.....the MWF World Heavyweight Champion isn't moving an inch as Ramsey leans down to check on him ....5......6......7.....Ramsey looks rather pleased with himself as Doomsday doesn't move, he puts a hand down to roll over Doomsday, he rolls over "The Deadly One" and the crowd explode as Doomsday is rolled over and his arm shoots up and grabs Ramsey by the neck!]

JP: Doomsday! Doomsday! He was playing possum!

Sully: I thought he faded a bit too fast there....haha!

JP: Father John Ramsey has been rumbled now, he's running for his life.

Sully: He'll need a bit of divine intervention now.

[Doomsday lifts himself up, his hand still locked around the neck of Ramsey....the priest looks to be begging for forgiveness as Doomsday forces Ramsey around the ring, he roars into the face of Ramsey who stops jibbering. The crowd explode as Doomsday locks, and loads, he hoists up Ramsey and brings him down with the massive Lock-N-Load! The ring shakes as the priest hits the mat and stays down, Doomsday signals for August to count. The MWF World Heavyweight Champion, in a show of arrogance, climbs from the ring as August counts ....1.....2.....3......4.....Doomsday makes his way to the timekeepers table and grabs his MWF World Heavyweight Championship ....5.....6......7.....Doomsday walks around the side of the ring, with August still counting ....8.....9.....Ramsey still isn't moving .....10! The bell sounds as August makes the signal and Doomsday raises the belt to the crowd as he walks up the entrance ramp.]

JP: The MWF World Heavyweight Champion just knew he'd won that one didn't he?

Sully: A show of real arrogance there from "The Deadly One".

JP: I didn't think Doomsday could be like that.

Sully: Why shouldn't he?

JP: I suppose...but it just wasn't like him at all.

[Doomsday continues up the entrance ramp as "You Know You're Right" by Nirvana hits the PA system, Ramsey is slowly coming around in the ring after the impact of the move.]

Peter Santos: And your winner, of this last man standing contest, Doomsday!

[The crowd suddenly roar louder as Doomsday turns round, half way up the entrance ramp and standing at the top of the ramp is "The Perfector of Pain" Thunder Bull. The two men lock gazes and Doomsday gives a nod of acknowledgement to Thunder Bull.]

JP: Thunder Bull is out here!

Sully: These two men will clash, January 10th for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.

JP: They sure will, and it will be inside the Thunderdome.

Sully: I think only one man will be able to walk after these two have finished.

[Thunder Bull points down to the MWF World Heavyweight Championship and shouts something at Doomsdsy and then points to himself, Doomsday starts walking up the entrance ramp and Thunder Bull walks down the entrance ramp. The crowd begins to make a hell of a noise as they expect a clash between the two men. The two biggest stars in the MWF reach each other, they stand face to face with the MWF World Heavyweight Championship between them as the MWF fades out to commercials.]
