MWF World Champion: "Troy Boy" Troy Knight w/Lawrence Knight

versus

"Paddy Punch" The Hobo

Non - Title Match

Referee: Charles Galliant

Writer: Ed Walker

[The crowd are on their feet cheering as the temperature inside the arena is rising, banners are waved with pictures of Troy Knight adorning them. We join our commentary team of John Pilkington and Tim Sullivan at ringside.]

JP: It's main event time and tonight you're going to see a man that has taken professional wrestling by storm...I cannot describe to you what these fans feel for Troy Knight.

Sully: They have been completely sucked in to the so called "charm" of Troy Knight and he's now taking them for the biggest ride of their lives...but one man determined to stop him is The Hobo, and he is an unlikely hurdle for Troy Knight.

JP: The MWF World Heavyweight Champion has beaten ten opponents in a row, he's worked his way through match after match and ended up right here on Dynamite.

Sully: The Hobo is staring down the barrel of defeat, he's been out of action for three weeks and finds himself flung back into the limelight facing one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling...

JP: ...history. Troy Knight is fast approaching legendary status.

Sully: He has one man to thank for the turnaround, his own father who has helped to take Troy Knight to a pinnacle that many predicated and I for one never thought he'd reach.

JP: Everything that is good about Troy Knight and his unusual style has been focused and condensed and he's now a fighting machine.

Sully: It scares me to see how good he is, the way he moves around the ring...the style and composure, but we must not forget about The Hobo here.

JP: The Hobo has been the MWF Xtreme Champion, and now that Dom Stoate has been...relieved of his position in the MWF then Hobo can cast away those chains that haunted him.

Sully: He is, his own man now and no matter what anyone thinks about his appearance he probably has the biggest heart in the MWF. This is a man who has come up through the streets and has now reached the glitz and glamour of the MWF main event stage.

JP: These two men come from completely different worlds, Troy is used to walking on the red carpet...Hobo is used to sleeping on any old piece of carpet!

Sully: Expect The Hobo to boil over tonight, and give Troy Knight a shock.

[The camera switches to the ring where Peter Santos stands, mic in hand and the crowd roar with delight as he begins to below.]

Peter Santos: This match is scheduled for one fall and is a non-title match. Introducing first, from Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 220 lbs., accompanied by Lawrence Knight, the Maximum Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Champion, Troy Knight!

[The entrance way glows a deep orange and purple colour.....as "Larger Than Life" by The Backstreet Boys hits the PA system and the crowd explode with cheers as the MWF World Heavyweight Champion appears from behind the curtain. The MaxiTron is showing stills of Troy's last ten victories, the lights flicker a bright white...dazzling the crowd as Troy Knight stands with the MWF World Heavyweight Championship belt held high above everyone. Behind him stands his manager and father, Lawrence Knight.]

JP: Troy Knight is every bit the MWF World Heavyweight Champion, the glitz and glamour he was designed for.

Sully: It's scary how well it fits him, worrying that he was almost born to become the MWF World Heavyweight Champion.

JP: He's deserved it though, Troy Knight is a great wrestler and tonight will move onto an eleventh straight victory.

Sully: Have to see if he can cope with The Hobo's strange tactics, no one knows what kind of a match The Hobo is going to fight tonight.

[Troy Knight walks down the entrance ramp, he shakes the hands of a few fans as he nears the ring...Lawrence Knight watches his son from a few paces behind and the two men climb the steps to the ring. Troy Knight stops for a moment, takes the belt from his waist and climbs into the ring between the ropes. The crowd are cheering as Troy Knight raises the belt with both hands and smiles as the camera flashes bathe him in an almost holy light. Peter Santos takes centre stage again while referee Charles Galliant shakes hands with Troy Knight and takes the MWF World Heavyweight Championship belt from him.]

Peter Santos: And the opponent, weighing in at 213 lbs., from Detroit, Michigan, "Paddy Punch" The Hobo!

["One Of A Can" a modified version of the Breaking Point track hits the PA system and the crowd give a mixed reaction as The Hobo comes out to a flash of green lights. The Hobo stops for a second at the top of the entrance ramp, looking around almost in disbelief at the crowd. In the front row on one side of the ring is a pocket of similar looking men and women to The Hobo and they cheer loudly as The Hobo quickly paces down towards the ring...looking a little nervous.]

JP: The look on Hobo's face says it all, his shoulders are tense and he's sweating already.

Sully: I'm not surprised he's nervous, he's a little wrestler in the big scheme of things...he was once the MWF Xtreme Champion but that is nothing compared to being the MWF World Heavyweight Champion.

JP: Troy Knight looks calm and composed, The Hobo is a ball of nervous energy.

Sully: But you know what that could mean, a scared man can often prove dangerous...like a snake coiled in a corner.

[The Hobo reaches the ring and slides straight under the bottom rope, Troy Knight turns and smiles at his opponent while Lawrence Knight pep talks Troy...who doesn't seem to be paying much attention to his father. The Hobo goes to the turnbuckle near his pocket of look-alikes and they make a tremendous racket as The Hobo climbs the turnbuckle and raises his arms to them. Troy Knight can't help but chuckle as he watches this show of support for The Hobo.]

JP: It seems as if The Hobo brought his whole family along for this match...

Sully: Looks like it, they all look remarkably similar...I can't tell the men from the women, or the women from the men in that bunch!

JP: Nice for The Hobo to have some support, this crowd will mainly be rooting for Troy Knight that's for sure....eight and a half thousand have turned out in Ardmore to see this contest and they won't be disappointed as these are two of the best wrestlers around at the moment.

Sully: The Hobo's been out of action for a while, so I hope that doesn't affect him tonight.

[Referee Charles Galliant checks over The Hobo for any suspicious objects, and he fines him clean...Galliant gives a signal to the time keepers table and the crowd roar as the bell sounds as Lawrence Knight clambers from the ring leaving his son alone to face The Hobo. Troy Knight rolls his head and clicks his neck slightly, still with a slight bemused smile on his face...The Hobo isn't smiling, the smaller man is wearing a face of complete concentration and as the bell sounds he launches himself forward. Troy Knight ducks a flying clothesline from The Hobo who rolls all the way over to the turnbuckle. Troy Knight turns round and The Hobo is straight back on his feet and Knight gives The Hobo an ear ringer that has him clutching his head in pain. Troy Knight grabs The Hobo and the crowd cheer as he executes a perfect suplex, The Hobo holds his back and arches it in agony.]

JP: Been a while since The Hobo will have felt impact like that...

Sully: ....he's got to work through the pain and agony of these first few moves, there is no way it will be easy but he has to try.

JP: You almost feel sorry for The Hobo when you look at him.

Sully: He doesn't want any sympathy though, he simply wants the chance to earn respect...not have it handed to him on a plate and this match tonight is his chance to gain some true respect.

[Troy Knight grabs The Hobo by his hair and pulls him to his feet....The Hobo attempts to squirm free but an irish whip by Troy sends The Hobo to the ropes. Troy Knight lowers himself, ready to attempt a back body drop but as The Hobo comes back he rolls over the back of Troy Knight, landing the other side and he kicks Troy Knight in the groin area and spins him round and plants him with a DDT! Hobo's little army of fans explode with cheers as The Hobo flashes them a smile as he drops to the mat and begins to savagely rip at Troy Knight's hair! The MWF World Heavyweight Champion screams in pain as The Hobo wrenches at Troy Knight's hair and comes up holding a clump of golden blonde hair. Troy Knight covers his face and stays down on the mat in agony, The Hobo takes the hair of Troy Knight and blows it across the ring and into the crowd.]

JP: What the hell!? The Hobo just pulled some of Troy Knight's hair.

Sully: That's going to hurt Troy Knight more than anything in the world, he's one of the most vain wrestlers on the roster and losing his hair like that will really hurt him.

JP: It's disgraceful, The Hobo can't get away with that.

Sully: There is nothing in the rules against it, he can't be disqualified for that action.

[The Hobo stands with his back to Troy Knight who is down on the mat, the crowd gasp as The Hobo simply flips up head over heels and lands a standing moonsault onto the fallen Troy Knight. This has the MWF World Heavyweight Champion covered and Charles Galliant covers ....1.....2....! At the last second Troy Knight seems to remember he's actually in a wrestling match and pushes The Hobo off him, Lawrence Knight is furious at ringside, he climbs up onto the ring apron and Charles Galliant turns to deal with the older Knight.]

JP: What is Lawrence unhappy about?

Sully: I think he's unhappy about what The Hobo did, but it's perfectly within the rules of the MWF....

JP: .....time to dig out the "rules of the ring", I'm sure that Tim Sullivan's rules are slightly different to everyone elses.

Sully: Perhaps.

[Troy Knight is brought to his feet by The Hobo and the ring shakes as The Hobo executes a german suplex, the smaller wrestler keeps the grapple around the middle of Troy Knight and pulls him back up and hits a second german suplex straight after the other one! The crowd cheer and applaud this move as Troy Knight is left down and out on the canvas, The Hobo walks towards the turnbuckle where his little army are camped and begins to climb the turnbuckle.]

JP: You know what this will be?

Sully: The end for Troy Knight's winning streak...the Spare Change Splash, tell me JP, can you spare any change?

JP: Haha! Not right now, I don't think Troy Knight will ever walk past a tramp on the street in the same way.

Sully: The Hobo's going up and he sure as hell is coming down!

[Charles Galliant is still explaining to Lawrence Knight while The Hobo balances himself on the top rope...Troy Knight is flat out on the canvas as The Hobo takes his grey trousers and pulls the two pockets out. From his pockets a single cent coin falls onto his hand...he takes it and throws it into the crowd where his small army are, with a yell he launches himself off the top rope and both Charles Galliant and Lawrence Knight turn to watch The Hobo connect with the Spare Change Splash! The crowd explodes on impact of the move, Troy Knight's body spasms as The Hobo again goes for the cover, hooking the leg of Troy Knight. Charles Galliant turns away from Lawrence Knight who is fuming, whether at his son or The Hobo we can't be sure, and slides to the mat with his arm ready to count.....1......2.....! Troy Knight kicks out of the move and the crowd roar, beginning to get to their feet as they sense a hell of a match coming on.]

JP: Troy Knight kicked out of the Spare Change Splash!

Sully: NO! The Hobo must be heartbroken, that's one of his favourite moves and Troy Knight just dismissed it as nothing.

JP: This crowd are really coming alive now, like me they sense this could become a really special match.

Sully: It's not often you see Troy Knight on the back foot like this and The Hobo really needs to press home the advantage while he still can.

[Troy Knight's hair is visibly destroyed, a large clump has been taken out of the crown area and The Hobo now gets to his feet and looks down at the MWF World Heavyweight Champion who is breathing heavily. The Hobo takes Troy Knight back up to a standing position and jams a right hook into the jaw of the MWF World Heavyweight Champion, "Troy Boy" rocks back on his heels and a jab with the left hand takes Troy Knight by surprise and he's staggering back towards the ropes. The Hobo jabs again into the jaw of Troy Knight and this knocks Troy Knight off balance, The Hobo grabs the arm of Troy Knight and looks to irish whip him into the turnbuckle. The crowd roar as the boot of Troy Knight slams the canvas and he refuses to move, The Hobo attempts to irish whip again but the MWF World Heavyweight Champion won't move and the crowd go wild as Troy Knight instead pulls The Hobo towards him and a short arm clothesline has the former MWF Xtreme Champion writhing on the mat.]

JP: That's the thing about Troy Knight, whatever position he is in he can always recover!

Sully: I'll have to ask Johnathon that when I next see him, "can Troy Knight recover from any position?"

JP: Sully that's foul!

Sully: Just a thought...

[The Hobo is down on the canvas as Troy Knight spots the opportunity and the crowd cheer as Troy Knight begins to climb to the top rope. Lawrence Knight shakes his head and calls for his son to get down off the turnbuckle, Troy Knight ignores his father and continues to climb.]

JP: Now it's Troy Knight's turn to do a bit of up-top work...the Rump Thump is heading your way ladies and gentlemen!

Sully: I hate this move...

[Troy Knight is on the top rope, he turns his back on the ring and the crowd are on their feet cheering as Troy comes down...looking for that well known butt drop onto his opponent's face. A masked man comes sprinting down the entrance ramp, Lawrence Knight turns around realising from the noise of the crowd that something is about to happen. He's pushed aside as the masked man from round the outside of the ring is able to grab The Hobo and roll him out of the way as Troy comes crashing down. The Rump Thump connects, with the canvas as The Hobo rolls free from the move and Troy Knight roars with agony as his backside slaps against the canvas. The Hobo's pocket of fans go wild at his evasive tactics.]

JP: Oh no!

Sully: There, that's what I was talking about...The Hobo and his evaside tactics.

JP: That certainly worked, damn cheating that was!

Sully: He'll do his best, he's got a massive match next week against Shiv and he needs to be in the ring as much as possible.

JP: Both these men have massive matches next week, Troy Knight will be defending the MWF World Heavyweight Championship in a three stages of hell match against Thunder Bull...the hottest rising star in the MWF right now.

Sully: It's going to be one hell of a match, I don't know who it put my money on.

JP: And of course The Hobo will be attempting to take the MWF Xtreme Championship away from Shiv...

Sully: ....it will be Shiv's first defence of the belt, and yet he's had it for what feels like an age already!

[The Hobo is getting to his feet as Troy Knight is sitting holding the ropes for support as he attempts to lever himself off the canvas. He gets to his feet and The Hobo comes running across the ring and hits a dropkick into the right knee of Troy Knight that has "Troy Boy" crippled and down on the mat clutching his knee. The Hobo rains down punches onto the fallen Troy Knight, and the crowd actually let out a jeer (save for Hobo's travelling support) as his knee connects with the face of Troy Knight. Knight slumps back against the turnbuckle and The Hobo helps Troy Knight back up to a standing position. No sooner has he done this then The Hobo executes a snapmare on Troy Knight and as Knight hits the deck then The Hobo swings a dropkick into the back of Troy Knight that sends the MWF World Heavyweight Champion sprawling forward.]

JP: What a combination of moves..look at Lawrence Knight he can't believe what he's seeing.

Sully: Everyone dismissed The Hobo but they are now finding out that this little guy has the biggest heart in the MWF and when it matters that really counts.

JP: It's not over yet, not by a long shot because The Hobo does not have the fitness and stamina that Troy Knight does.

Sully: You'd be surprised, inside The Hobo there is something that keeps him going and it's doing exactly that right now...keeping him going.

[The crowd are beginning to swing behind The Hobo as his supporters in a small section of the crowd start a "HOBO! HOBO! HOBO!" chant. Lawrence Knight looks around in disbelief as the whole crowd come alive for the small, ragbag wrestler who stands over the fallen Troy Knight. The Hobo pulls Troy Knight up to his feet and the arena explodes as The Hobo executes the Hobo Cutter! Troy Knight's face is driven into the canvas, his neck twisted and he roars with pain as The Hobo hooks the leg and Charles Galliant frantically counts as The Hobo holds on for dear life......1.......2........3! The bell sounds and the crowd are stunned except for The Hobo's little army of fans who break out in joy at the result. The Hobo is helped to his feet by Charles Galliant and he looks around with eyes wide and a massive smile on his face.]

JP: Good Lord....

Sully: ....I never thought I'd see the day when someone like The Hobo was able to beat Troy Knight! It's happened, did you see that swing in momentum....that feeling when The Hobo had the crowd behind him and for once Troy Knight was not the most popular wrestler in the MWF, for once it was taken away from him by a performance from The Hobo that showed everything that a champion should have, determination and guts, true guts!

JP: The Hobo has just beaten the MWF World Heavyweight Champion, a ten match unbeaten run has come to a crushing end as The Hobo of all people ends Troy's glorious run.

Sully: He moves on to face Shiv for the MWF Xtreme Championship and what are the odds on him beating Shiv and reclaiming the belt we all associate him with?

[The Hobo slowly walks towards the ropes, Lawrence Knight climbs into the ring and is scratching his head...the other hand holding his face as he is in shock at his son's defeat. The Hobo climbs onto the ring apron and the crowd roar as he leaps off the ring apron into his small army of fans where he is mobbed. There is a famliar face in the crowd, The Hobo hugs this man tightly and the crowd suddenly roar as they recognise former MWF wrestler Tempest!]

JP: There he is...that's Tempest, he was resigned this past week following the resignation of Dom Stoate from the position of General Manager.

Sully: Tempest looks very happy with The Hobo's victory over Troy Knight!

JP: Well that masked man helped a lot didn't he, putting The Hobo's foot on the ropes...Lawrence Knight was fuming!

Sully: He's still fuming, he can't believe that The Hobo won the match....I don't think anyone can.

[Peter Santos stands in the ring and his voice echo's around the arena, Tempest raises the arm of The Hobo.]

Peter Santos: And your winner, through pinfall, The Hobo!

JP: This sure is a turn up for the books, I don't think anyone could have expected The Hobo to come out on top tonight.

Sully: I thought he had a shot but the way he managed to control Troy Knight, well it will give real hope and adrenaline for Thunder Bull when next week he takes on Troy Knight for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.

JP: Yes, next week we will see Troy Knight and Thunder Bull go through hell, and yes I mean hell, they will compete in a three stages of hell match for the most heavenly prize in the company....

Sully: ....the MWF World Heavyweight Championship, I can't begin to imagine the carnage that will be left after that match is done.

[The Hobo has disappeared into the heaving little mass of his fans as he is mobbed by his Hobo-like fans...the crowd suddenly explode as "A Place For My Head" by Linkin Park hits the PA system and the number one contender for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship, Thunder Bull walks out onto the entrance way with a microphone in his hand.]

JP: Thunder Bull's out here! I didn't think that we could go the whole evening without seeing Troy Knight and Thunder Bull clashing once again.

Sully: It wouldn't be a Monday Night Dynamite without it, I can't wait to see them go toe to toe again....after that epic Hell on Earth match at Vacation you get the feeling that Thunder Bull can't wait to rip Troy Knight apart and claim the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.

JP: Thunder Bull's been handed a massive boost by The Hobo tonight, beating Troy Knight will knock his confidence and his focus.

Sully: We all know and realise that Troy Knight is very much a confidence wrestler and without that winning streak still burning bright he won't quite be the same.

[Thunder Bull paces the entrance way, seemingly waiting for the noise from the crowd to stop before he speaks...Lawrence Knight stands over his fallen son, his eyes blazing as he watches the young protender to his son's throne pace the entrance way. Thunder Bull stops pacing, his shoulder's to the side and he slowly swings round to face the ring and the crowd quickly hush as he raises the mic to his lips.]

Thunder Bull: What the hell happened out here tonight? It seems as if we've just witnessed a cosmic shift of power....The Hobo, that little urchin ratbag from the street has just beaten the man who holds this place together, the jewel in the MWF's crowd has been beaten by a rough diamond. Troy Knight, the MWF World Heavyweight Champion.....you can beat me, you can beat every other wrestler under the son and yet you couldn't take care of The Hobo?

[Thunder Bull stops on this question, he breathes heavily and looks down at the ring where Lawrence Knight slowly takes the microphone from Peter Santos and the crowd explode as they realise that the older Knight is going to speak. The wisdom in Lawrence Knight's voice is all too evident.]

Lawrence Knight: Good evening Thunder Bull...welcome to the main event of Monday Night Dynamite. What you have seen here tonight is nothing but a minor blip before Troy Knight recovers and starts another winning streak by beating you through two stages of hell next Monday.

Thunder Bull: I'm sorry old man....but did you say two stages? I'm sure we all agree, it's a three stages of hell of match, that's what the stipulation has been set at.

[Lawrence Knight gives a rye smile as he looks at Thunder Bull standing on the entrance way, the crowd are watching the intense confrontation.]

Lawrence Knight: My son, will not take three stages to beat you Thunder Bull....

[The crowd explode at this comment and Thunder Bull looks shocked at the older Knight's cunning comment and Thunder Bull stutters out a response.]

Thunder Bull: Well...I'll beat him, it doesn't matter what, I will beat....your son....

Lawrence Knight: SILENCE!

[The power in Lawrence Knight's voice makes the ropes around the ring tremble and Lawrence Knight steps across the fallen body of his son and stands between Thunder Bull on the entrance way and Troy Knight laying flat in the ring.]

Lawrence Knight: Stop your muttering and threats Thunder Bull because I do not hear them. I am Troy's father, I am a professional wrestler...my exterior may look old but inside I am still as fighting fit as I ever was. Thunder Bull you have risen too quickly, you have come to boil faster than any other wrestler in the MWF and you will pay for that, you will pay for your lack of thinking things through. You think you can come charging out here like some gallant warrior, but let me tell you, Thunder Bull, you are not the KNIGHT you wish to be!

[Lawrence Knight throws the microphone down and climbs from the ring, he rips his shirt off and the crowd explode in support of Lawrence Knight as he walks up the entrance ramp towards Thunder Bull. "The Perfector of Pain" drops the microphone and looks down at the menacing figure of Troy's father as he walks purposefully up the entrance ramp towards his son's opponent.]

JP: What the hell!?

Sully: Lawrence Knight is going to defend his son's honour, this just isn't right...Lawrence Knight must be some forty or fifty years old!

JP: Thunder Bull needs to be careful, Lawrence Knight may seem old but he's got a mind like a snake and he will pounce.

Sully: Thunder Bull's one of the most athletic young men in the MWF today, he can handle any old timer...come on Lawrence Knight isn't exactly a spring chicken.

[Thunder Bull stands at the top of the entrance ramp and he glares at Lawrence Knight as he approaches, The Hobo and his little army of fans are watching on with everyone else while Troy Knight is still down inside the ring with Charles Galliant and Peter Santos checking on him. Lawrence Knight takes on last step and stops some three feet away from Thunder Bull, he looks up into the eyes of his son's future opponent while Thunder Bull has a cocky smile on his face.]

JP: I think Thunder Bull is going to make a big mistake, a very big mistake...

Sully: OH!

[The crowd give off a massive reaction as Thunder Bull lunges forward and throws a right hand at Lawrence Knight, "The Last Knight" smiles and blocks the punch with ease....Thunder Bull throws a left hand and Lawrence Knight is still smiling as he catches the left hand. He has both hands of Thunder Bull and Lawrence Knight performs the classic mercy operation, twisting the hands of Thunder Bull down in the ultimate show of strength. "The Perfector of Pain" is screaming in his own pain as Lawrence Knight forces Thunder Bull down to his knees and the crowd explode as Lawrence Knight lets go of the move and brings an elbow down onto the crown of Thunder Bulls' head.]

JP: He's just too good, Lawrence Knight is just too experienced to mess with.

Sully: Thunder Bull's been cut down to size by a forty year old man, what the hell is going on around here?

[At the moment Thunder Bull collapses onto the entrance ramp then security explode from the back, four security officers rush towards Lawrence Knight and Troy Knight who has just come around in the ring watches as his own father is pushed to the ground and the security men restrain him. The crowd begin to jeer as "My Sacrifice" by Creed blares over the PA system and the MWF's General Manager Insane Wayne strolls out onto the entrance way.]

JP: It's Insane Wayne, what is the General Manager doing out here?

Sully: He's restoring some order of course, he's got a microphone so I guess he's going to try and talk this one through.

JP: I don't like the look in his eyes, he's up to something....

Sully: ....Insane Wayne's a smart man, he's always up to something!

[The crowd gasp as behind Insane Wayne walk two police officers, Insane Wayne gives a nod to them and security pull Lawrence Knight to his feet and drag him towards the police officers. Lawrence Knight glares at Insane Wayne as he goes past. Insane Wayne reaches down and helps Thunder Bull to his feet....the credits of Dynamite are beginning to roll.]

JP: Troy Knight has just seen his father arrested, the man who has always been a model professional has been arrested...

Sully: ....all thanks to General Manager Insane Wayne, what a great man he is.

JP: What's Troy Knight going to do? He has the most important match of his life so far around the corner and the man behind his major success is being led away in handcuffs!

Sully: It's the Maximum Wrestling Federation for a reason!

JP: We're running out of time, but make sure you join us next week to find out exactly what will happen and to see if Troy Knight can defend the MWF World Heavyweight Championship against Thunder Bull.

Sully: Goodnight!

[The camera fades out as Troy Knight stands, leaning on the ropes as he stares at the MWF General Manager in general disbelief...Thunder Bull just smiles smugly as he walks off backstage.]
