MWF Tag Team Champions: "Kronik" Sozzey and Mak
versus
MWF World Heavyweight Champion and MWF Xtreme Champions: "The Kovenant"
Thunder Bull and The Grudge
MWF Tag Team Championship Match
Referee: Charles Galliant
Writer: Ed Walker
JP: This is going to be a great match Sully, we've got
two great tag teams raring to go.
Sully: "Kronik" are looking to defend their MWF Tag Team Championships,
they've done well so far...holding off the challenge of Insane Wayne and Gunman
Stinger last week.
JP: That ended up being far easier than expected, Wayne and Stinger were
hardly a challenge to such an experienced team like Sozzey and Mak.
Sully: "Kronik" are very experienced, but "The Kovenant" have gelled quickly
and I think we could see them making a real challenge here tonight.
JP: Maybe so, I'm not sure if they've got enough to fire themselves to the
top of the MWF tag team ladder.
Sully: Why not?
JP: Thunder Bull may well be the MWF World Heavyweight Champion and The
Grudge may well be the MWF Xtreme Champion but I still can't help but feel they
haven't got that team work yet.
Sully: Maybe not, but I think you'll find it will come naturally.
JP: Thunder Bull is the best wrestler in the MWF right now, but he will find
it tough going tonight.
Sully: I just get this chill going up my spine every time that "The Kovenant"
appear, like we are watching one of the best tag teams in MWF history.
JP: It is great to see the MWF tag team division getting right back on its
feet after so long being second rate, we've got four great tag teams at the
moment.
Sully: "Kronik" will always be the best tag team because of the bond between
Sozzey and Mak, but "The Kovenant", Insane Wayne and Gunman Stinger, and the
newly formed ViperJ and Doomsday will provide stiff competition.
JP: That match between Insane Wayne and Gunman Stinger, taking on Doomsday
and ViperJ will be interesting...I'm wondering how much ViperJ can improve under
Doomsday's guidance.
Sully: He'll go a long way, you were saying that even before Doomsday took
him under his wing.
JP: I think Peter Santos is ready to get this party started...
[The Glasgow crowd cheer as Peter Santos climbs the ring steps, ducks through
the middle rope and walks to the centre of the ring. With microphone in hand, he
raises it to his lips and bellows to the capacity crowd.]
Peter Santos: Ladies and gentlemen, this next match is scheduled for one
fall and is for the Maximum Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championships!
[A roar goes from the crowd as Peter Santos makes this announcement and he
smiles at the response from the crowd, Santos raises his voice further over the
crowd.]
Peter Santos: Introducing first, weighing in
at a combined weight of 555 lbs., they are the Maximum Wrestling Federation Tag
Team Champions, "Kronik" Sozzey and Mak!
["Numb" by Linkin Park hits the PA system and
the fans roar as the MWF Tag Team Champions appear on the MaxiTron...a picture
shown of them destroying various opponents. Pyro explodes all over the entrance
way and the fans roar as blinding yellow lights signal the arrival of "Kronik".
Sozzey and Mak walk out through the lights and pyrotechnics to the cheers of the
crowd, Sozzey looks pleased at the reaction and walks a few paces ahead of his
brother and raises his arms to salute the crowd.]
JP: "Kronik", one of the
most feared tag teams in wrestling history.
Sully: I'd agree with that, the Glasgow fans are
pleased to see them that's for sure.
JP: Great guys, real work horses, they live and
breathe for the MWF.
Sully: Certainly do, but once they are in the
ring they will do anything to win.
["Kronik" have their belts strapped around their
waists, they high five some eager fans on their way down the entrance ramp and
smile as a "Kronik" chant echo's from the rafters. They climb up onto the ring
apron and enter inside the squared circle, they shake hands with the referee
Charles Galliant who gestures for them to take off the belts. They reluctantly part
with their belts and Charles Galliant takes the two belts and raises them to the
cheering crowd. Peter Santos gets back on the mic again and "Numb" starts to
fade from the PA system.]
Peter Santos: Introducing the challengers, weighing in at a combined
weight of 510 lbs., the Maximum Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight and
Xtreme Champions, "The Kovenant", Thunder Bull and The Grudge!
[A huge jeer goes up from the crowd as "A Place For My Head" by Linkin Park
hits the PA system and "The Kovenant" appear through a cloud of smoke...Thunder
Bull blows some smoke away and takes the MWF World Heavyweight Championship off
his shoulder and raises it to the crowd. They jeer loudly at him and some of the
fans start up a "Tempest! Tempest! Tempest!" chant, which causes The Grudge and
Thunder Bull to laugh and smile. The Grudge leads as the two men walk down the
entrance ramp, avoiding any contact with the fans.]
JP: Thunder Bull used to be such a popular guy, but
this new dark character is not proving popular.
Sully: The Grudge is right on Thunder Bull's shoulder, two of the best
wrestlers in the MWF joining forces.
JP: It's worrying for the rest of the MWF...considering the size of the
roster, even if three or four wrestlers get together it can have a major impact.
Sully: "Twisted Vizion" and "The Master Plan" spring to mind...although "The
Master Plan" never quite dominated in the same way that "Twisted Vizion" once
did.
["The Kovenant" reach the ring and they slide under the ropes, and
immediately the two teams get in each others faces. Charles Galliant quickly
steps in to keep the peace, and has to push Mak away from Thunder Bull as one
half of "Kronik" becomes overly animated. The Grudge and Thunder Bull hand over
their MWF championship belts to Galliant and he passes them to Peter Santos who
takes them to the time keepers table. Thunder Bull and The Grudge turn away from
their opponents and have a brief discussion about their tactics for the match,
Thunder Bull slaps The Grudge on the back and the MWF Xtreme Champion turns to
face his opponents while Thunder Bull steps onto the ring apron. Sozzey makes it
clear he will be the starting man for "Kronik", as Mak growls and shouts insults
at the MWF World Heavyweight Champion from his place at the ring apron.]
JP: There's quite a lot of bad feeling between these
two teams after "The Kovenant" managed to sneak a victory over "Kronik" two
weeks ago during the Japanese tour.
Sully: It was a well deserved victory I thought..."The Kovenant" were easily
the best team on the night and deserved the victory.
JP: It's going to be a very close match, "Kronik" seemed really fired up for
the match.
Sully: That can work in one of two ways, either they'll storm to victory or
they will get so over excited and "The Kovenant" will work their way to a solid
victory.
[The bell sounds and the crowd cheer as The Grudge and Sozzey don't waste any
time...the two men lock up and Sozzey gains the early advantage. He grapples
with The Grudge and turns him over towards the "Kronik" side of the ring and
leans into The Grudge and gets underneath him, he lifts up and The Grudge is
sent over for a suplex. The MWF Xtreme Champion thuds down onto the canvas and
holds his back in pain at the move, Sozzey turns round and runs to the ropes. He
comes back and the crowd cheer as he hits a leg drop onto the stranded
"Homicidal Creep". Sozzey peels The Grudge up off the canvas and sends him into
the turnbuckle. Sozzey makes the early tag to Mak and the other half of "Kronik"
steps into the ring.]
JP: "Kronik" keeping the pressure on early, it's the
key to tag team wrestling...quick, sharp and early tags can make all the
difference.
Sully: You have to keep yourselves fresh, otherwise one of you becomes bogged
down.
JP: Very true, that is what happened to Insane Wayne and Gunman Stinger last
week...."GMS" got isolated and it was too little too late.
Sully: I don't think Insane Wayne and Gunman Stinger will stay together for
much longer, Insane Wayne is too good for "GMS" and after Stinger lost the MWF
Television Championship earlier to Steven Douglas then Wayne will ditch him.
[Mak has The Grudge in the corner and the fans applaud as Mak raises his knee
and rams it into the mid-section of The Grudge, the MWF Xtreme Champion winces
as the knee is driven into his mid-section and he continues to drive his knee
into The Grudge. The fans jeer as Charles Galliant comes over and calls for Mak
to stop the assault, Mak grabs The Grudge and the crowd boo as The Grudge
punches Mak in the face attempting to escape from the clutches of the MWF Tag
Team Champion. Mak shakes off the punch and the fans roar as he executes a
standing clothesline that knocks The Grudge down to the mat. Mak is furious at
being struck in the face and he leans down and slaps The Grudge hard across the
back of his head and drags him to his feet.]
JP: Mak taking command of The Grudge there, despite an
attempt of a fight back from The Grudge.
Sully: "The Kovenant" really aren't firing yet, we haven't seen Thunder Bull
in the ring yet and he's the sort of wrestler than can turn a match complete on
its head.
JP: You got that right, "The Perfector of Pain" is one of those special
wrestlers that when unleashed will destroy everything and everyone in his path.
Sully: It will be interesting to see what happens when The Grudge can make
the tag to him.
[The Grudge doesn't look like making a tag as he is kept in a headlock by Mak
and marched across to where Sozzey is waiting on the ring apron, "Kronik" make
the tag and the crowd cheer as Mak releases the hold on The Grudge and the MWF
Xtreme Champion is caught with a boot to the face by Sozzey. "Homicidal Creep"
staggers backwards and Sozzey attempts to grapple him, but The Grudge evades
Sozzey and the crowd jeer as The Grudge gets behind Sozzey and grapples him. The
Grudge hits a reverse DDT that has the MWF Tag Team Champion knocked down on the
mat, Thunder Bull is calling for the tag and The Grudge responds by dragging
Sozzey across the ring by his arm and tagging in the MWF World Heavyweight
Champion.]
JP: That's a hot tag for sure, Thunder Bull is going to
turn the match on its head as I predicted.
Sully: He certainly will....this is going to be hard to watch if you're a
"Kronik" fan.
JP: Here he comes..."The Perfector of Pain"!
Sully: Like a whirlwind.
[Sozzey is being helped to his feet by The Grudge, who irish whips Sozzey
into the opposite set of ropes. Sozzey comes running back, as Thunder Bull
stoops between the ropes and charges into the ring himself. The Grudge gets out
of the way, as does Charles Galliant, and Thunder Bull throws himself at Sozzey
and executes a spear that has the crowd going wild. Sozzey is brought savagely
down onto the canvas and Thunder Bull looks for the cover, hooking the leg of
Sozzey. Mak goes mental on the ring apron and urges his brother to kick out, the
fans gasp as Charles Galliant counts ...1...2! Sozzey kicks out and pushes
Thunder Bull away as Mak breathes a sigh of relief.]
JP: That was a close early fall, but Sozzey managed to
find the strength to kick out even after such a savage move.
Sully: Thunder Bull almost ripped one half of the MWF Tag Team Champions
apart with that move...I'm surprised Sozzey can still move after that spear!
JP: It's what we were saying about Thunder Bull, he has that potential to
totally change a match.
Sully: He needs to keep the momentum going though and give The Grudge time to
recover.
[Thunder Bull gets to his feet, as does Sozzey..."The Perfector of Pain" is
up first and the crowd cheer as Sozzey pushes away Thunder Bull's attempted
grapple, and the MWF Tag Team Champion takes the MWF World Heavyweight Champion
down with a drop toe hold. Thunder Bull's head slams the canvas and Sozzey grabs
the leg of "The Perfector of Pain". The crowd roar as Sozzey looks to lock in
the Tap The Fuck Out, to which Thunder Bull frantically tries to get himself
across to make the tag to The Grudge. Sozzey hauls Thunder Bull back towards the
centre of the ring and keeps the hold locked in, Mak applauds his brother's
efforts and The Grudge looks slightly concerned as Thunder Bull is in agony. The
crowd chant for Thunder Bull to give in, as Sozzey leans back and exerts even
more pressure onto the body of Thunder Bull.]
JP: Is the MWF World Heavyweight Champion going to tap?
Sully: He could well do....this could be it right here for "The Kovenant" and
their hopes of getting the MWF Tag Team Championships alongside their current
gold.
JP: I don't think Thunder Bull will be able to last that much longer in the
move.
Sully: You never know, it's Thunder Bull, never count him out.
[The Grudge has seen enough, as Charles Galliant leans down to check on
Thunder Bull and watch for the submission..."Homicidal Creep" charges into the
ring. He comes flying over Thunder Bull and kicks Sozzey in the face. The MWF
Tag Team Champion releases the hold and falls back holding his face, as The
Grudge continues running and attempts to clothesline Mak off the side of the
ring. But the MWF Tag Team Champion is wise to the danger, and he ducks the
clothesline and sends The Grudge back over his head and onto the outside! The
Grudge sprawls on the concrete as Mak turns and the fans go wild as Mak jumps
off the ring apron and down onto The Grudge. "Homicidal Creep" moves with agony
as Mak drops an elbow into the chest of the MWF Xtreme Champion and the fans
cheer wildly.]
JP: Mak's just taken The Grudge completely out of play
with a fantastic bit of ring awareness.
Sully: The Grudge must be gutted, he's saved his tag team partner but Mak's
kept the match right in the balance with that move.
JP: He took him down with style and he's set the crowd alight with the move.
Sully: "Kronik" have that element of luck about them sometimes.
[Mak gets to his feet and shouts for his brother to do the same, both Thunder
Bull and Sozzey are slowly getting to their feet and the crowd cheer for Sozzey
as he gets up slightly faster than Thunder Bull. The MWF World Heavyweight
Champion holds his leg and looks angrily at Sozzey. The two men lock up and the
crowd jeer as Thunder Bull brings his knee into the groin area of Sozzey, Sozzey
is doubled over and the crowd jeer as Thunder Bull executes a double knee face
buster that opens up Sozzey's nose and blood drips onto the canvas. The MWF Tag
Team Champion is down on the mat, blood dripping down from his nose and he looks
up to see his brother leaning over the ropes looking for the tag. Thunder Bull
grabs the legs of Sozzey and the fans shout with warning as Thunder Bull locks
in the sharpshooter.]
JP: He's paying him back....Thunder Bull's got the
sharpshooter locked in...
Sully: ...payback really is a bitch for "Kronik".
JP: Sozzey is going to be in serious pain, and he's bleeding heavily from his
nose after that boot to the face and double knee face buster.
Sully: It could be all over here.
[The MWF World Heavyweight Champion roars for Sozzey to give in straight away
as he keeps him locked in the sharpshooter. Charles Galliant gets in position
for the submission, but it doesn't come, Sozzey holds his own and screams with
pain as Thunder Bull increases the suffering for one member of "Kronik". Mak
stands at ringside and shouts for his brother to reach out for the ropes. Sozzey
gets his right arm free and stretches like mad to try and get to the ropes,
Thunder Bull increases the hold and the fans jeer angrily as Sozzey's face turns
red with a mixture of exertion and blood from his nose. Mak looks on desperately
as Sozzey can almost reach his brother's hand, just as he's about to the crowd
jeer angrily as The Grudge comes up from the outside and grabs Mak. He pulls one
half of "Kronik" off the ring apron and opens him up with a right hand, the fans
go wild on the outside as The Grudge sends Mak running into the ring steps.]
JP: They are brawling right near us Sully.
Sully: Bet we get hit with something, it's always the way.
JP: That was quite a nasty sound when Mak hit those ring steps...I hope he's
alright.
Sully: I'm sure he will be, he's a tough bastard.
[Back inside the ring, Sozzey has managed to grab the ropes and the crowd go
wild as Charles Galliant orders Thunder Bull off him. The Grudge leaves Mak's
fallen body and walks round to his side of the ring, and climbs onto the ring
apron and waits for the tag from Thunder Bull. "The Perfector of Pain" pulls
Sozzey to his feet and the crowd jeer as he leads him across the ring and makes
the tag to The Grudge. "Homicidal Creep" picks up where Thunder Bull left off
and sends Sozzey running into the turnbuckle. Sozzey slams into the turnbuckle
and the crowd cheer as The Grudge runs across but Sozzey rolls out of the way
and The Grudge runs head first into the turnbuckle! The ring shakes on impact
and The Grudge slumps onto the turnbuckle. Sozzey spots an opportunity and grabs
The Grudge, he hoists him up onto the top rope and climbs up there with him.
Sozzey looks to grab The Grudge, he puts his arm around his neck and looks for a
superplex. The Grudge refuses to move and Charles Galliant clears out of the way
as the two men grapple on the top rope.]
JP: It's a dangerous game being up there.
Sully: It really is...anything could happen up there, the MWF World
Heavyweight Championship has been both won and lost due to stupidity on the top
rope.
JP: Here comes Thunder Bull, what is he doing?
Sully: "The Kovenant" are turning this into an advantage.
[Thunder Bull runs across to the turnbuckle, and before Charles Galliant can
grab him he comes up from behind Sozzey. Thunder Bull twists his body, standing
on the second rope and the crowd gasp as he grabs Sozzey's thighs and powerbombs
one half of the MWF Tag Team Champions off the turnbuckle and onto the canvas.
The ring shakes, the crowd go mental, as Thunder Bull smiles and climbs up onto
the top rope with his partner. The fans are silent, in anticipation as The
Grudge stands up with Thunder Bull climbing onto his shoulders.]
JP: What the hell, Thunder Bull must be nearly twelve
feet in the air...
Sully: ...genius, he's standing on The Grudge's shoulders for extra leverage.
JP: This is incredible folks.
Sully: Here comes....the Impulse!
[The arena goes wild as Thunder Bull leaps off The Grudge's shoulders, and
comes down onto the body of Sozzey from at least twelve feet in the air with The
Impulse! The ring shakes with the impact of the move and Thunder Bull rolls,
panting, off the body of Sozzey. The Grudge jumps down from the turnbuckle and
hooks the leg of Sozzey ...1...2...the crowd explode with cheers as Sozzey kicks
out of the Impulse. The Grudge rolls off Sozzey, his eyes wide with shock.]
JP: Good Lord! He just kicked out of one of the most
devastating moves in the MWF's history.
Sully: "Kronik" certainly want to keep hold of these MWF Tag Team
Championships.
JP: Sozzey doesn't seem to realise what he's done.
Sully: Thunder Bull can't believe it, he's gutted.
[The Grudge looks at Charles Galliant who waves two fingers at The Grudge to
signal the two count. Thunder Bull is shaking his head with disbelief as on the
outside, Mak gets to his feet. Sozzey is rolling onto his side and he looks to
get to his feet, the fans are going wild and this seems to give Sozzey a lift.
Mak gets back up onto the ring apron and the fans roar as he starts a hand clap
in support of his brother. The Grudge senses the danger and looks to grapple
Sozzey....but one half of the MWF Tag Team Champions doesn't oblige, he pushes
The Grudge back and the fans roar with excitement as Sozzey fires a right hand
into the face of The Grudge. "Homicidal Creep" is reeling backwards as Sozzey
opens up the right hands, crashing through any defence that The Grudge attempts.
The Grudge is forced back to the "Kronik" side of the ring and Mak leans over
the ropes and grabs The Grudge. The fans roar as Sozzey gets in close and irish
whips The Grudge into the ropes.]
JP: Mak's getting in the ring as well...this could be
it.
Sully: I haven't seen this move pulled off for a long time, this is going to
be viscous.
JP: Thunder Bull's going to break it up though, look at him he's just waiting
for the chance.
Sully: Here we go...
[Mak has stepped into the ring and before Charles Galliant can stop it, Mak
runs forward, Sozzey lifts up The Grudge and "Kronik" execute Playtime Ended!
The arena erupts with jeers as The Grudge is slammed hard onto the canvas, he
cries out with pain as Thunder Bull leaps over the ropes. Mak is alive to the
threat and he sprints towards Thunder Bull, the two men both look for a
clothesline and they knock each other out with a double clothesline. Thunder
Bull hits the mat and rolls, his eyes still looking on desperately at where
Sozzey hooks the leg of The Grudge and the cheering fans count with Charles
Galliant ...1...2...3! The bell rings out around the arena and the MWF Tag Team
Champions have retained.]
JP: "Kronik" are still the MWF Tag Team Champions as we
head towards March Madness, and another possible defence.
Sully: I can't believe they won that.
JP: Playtime Ended is a deadly attack, Sozzey and Mak know it like the back
of their hand and The Grudge really suffered there.
Sully: It's all about team work, but I'll never forget that top, top, rope
Impulse from Thunder Bull.
Peter Santos: And your winners, through pin fall, and still the Maximum
Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions, "Kronik" Sozzey and Mak!
[The fans erupt once again at this announcement as Mak is helped to his feet
by his brother and Peter Santos throws the MWF Tag Team Championships to referee
Charles Galliant and he turns to award "Kronik" with their belts.]
JP: What a fantastic achievement, they've faced two
very good teams in two weeks and yet "Kronik" remain in the pole position.
Sully: The MWF tag team division is well and truly back on track with
this high level of competition.
JP: It's impressive to say the least.
Sully: We're running out of time here, thanks for joining us on the first of
the UK dates and Glasgow, UK, has witnessed a fantastic performance from a truly
great tag team.
JP: "Kronik" retain, Steven Douglas is crowned the brand new MWF Television
Champion.
Sully: A great performance from Steven Douglas, but Gunman Stinger was a
little unlucky not to come away with the belt.
JP: I think...
[JP is cut off as he is about to start another sentence, the arena MaxiTron
is flickering into life and the fans watch on as the camera zooms in on the
MaxiTron and we are backstage. The new MWF Television Champion is sat on a chair
in the locker room, the MWF Television Championship on his lap...he lights up a
cigarette and takes a slow drag. The fans cheer at the sight of Steven Douglas
and he has a wry smile on his face as he leans forward slightly and speaks to
the camera.]
Steven Douglas: You know, after being asked to join
with Insane Wayne and Gunman Stinger, I knew immediately that if I were to make
an allegiance with them, those two would hold me back for the rest of my
career. So I did what was necessary, I ended the stable before it
started. However, not long after Thunder Bull and The Grudge approached me with
a proposition that I could not refuse. They invited me to join The Kovenant, to
be a part of the most dominant stable in Maximum Wrestling Federation history.
We are poised to bring down every opponent who dares cross our path, and no one
here can say differently and be honest in speaking it. With the three best
wrestlers in the federation now, we are unstoppable. Get used to The Kovenant
ruling things around here, because that fact will reign supreme for a long
while.
[The fans jeer madly as Steven Douglas smiles evilly and flicks the burnt out
cigarette at the camera, which cuts back to the arena.]
JP: Steven Douglas is joining forces with Thunder Bull
and The Grudge!
Sully: That is all three single title holders under one roof, one almighty
"Kovenant".
JP: That's just scary, thank god that "Kronik" kept hold of the MWF Tag Team
Championships otherwise we would have a complete white wash.
Sully: Tempest is going to find it very hard at March Madness, now that
Thunder Bull will have The Grudge and now Steven Douglas in his corner.
JP: It's worrying to say the least, I really didn't see that happening.
Sully: I can't wait for March Madness now, what a main event that will
be...Tempest and Thunder Bull for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.
JP: I think that Tempest can do it, he's a fantastic wrestler and the mind
games will soon begin and he will tear Thunder Bull to shreds.
Sully: Thunder Bull is the best wrestler the MWF has, and he will keep hold
of the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.
JP: Make sure you tune in next week to find out all the build up to March
Madness and no doubt find out about all the latest matches that have been made.
Sully: Goodnight everyone!
