[The camera cuts in to show the General Manager, Dom Stoate along
with Wildfire. They are both looking at a television as a match draws
to a close. Stoate, who is sitting at his desk. He would point
towards the television screen, turning to face Wildfire.]
Stoate: You see that? That was a
high-quality match. The type of match that I=think you can be capable
of. Which is why, after all, I'm deciding not to give you the match
you wanted for next week.
Wildfire: What? Well, if you don't give me
that match, then I'm not sure that I can confirm the survival of our
successful business relationship, Stoate.
[Stoate ushers away the anger (or at least tries to) with open
hands as he stands up from his desk, speaking calmly.]
Stoate: Calm down, just calm down. What I
mean is, I don't think that you're quite ready for the title shot
yet. I'm going to give you your shot, but it's not going to be for a
little while.
Wildfire: What? Why the hell not?
Stoate: Because I want to see if you're
ready yet, okay? I want to see if you're ready for the title. I know,
I want to be your friend, and I think that in the future, we will be
a force to be reckoned with, but I also have a job to do. I have a
job to do, and I need to see if you're made of the right
stuff.
Wildfire: What do you mean 'made of the
right' stuff?!
[Wildfire leans forwards threateningly, and Stoate backs off.]
Stoate: If I just give you a title shot,
then people will start complaining! I have to have you prove yourself
first! It's the way things go!
[Stoate looks about ready to soil himself at this point as he
backs off behind his desk.]
Wildfire: Okay. Fine. I'm a great wrestler.
I can get through the matches you give me, and will pulverise my
opposition. I will show you that I have what it takes, and then I'm
coming for Troy, and that Title..
[Wildfire leaves the room, slamming the door closed loudly as
Stoate recomposes himself, watching the door warily.]
JP: Wildfire is pushing it too far, he
thinks he can just call the shots.
Sully: He's got every right to, he's a top
class wrestler.
JP: But he's trying to force a shot at the
MWF Television Championship without proving himself...
Sully: ...Without proving himself! He's a
former MWF Television and Tag Team Champion!
JP: Talking of proving themselves, Ace Spade
has a lot to prove tonight when he takes on Doomsday.
Sully: You have to worry about Doomsday, he
seems to think he has a chance and has spent most of the week
wondering why Insane Wayne hadn't got the shot.
JP: We'll see who is talking after tonight's
crucial match.
