"The Hardcore Icon" NomaD
versus
"Troy Boy" Troy Knight w/Lawrence Knight
MWF World Championship No.1 Contender Match
Referee: Charles Galliant
Writer: Dom Stoate
The main event was, this week, about as important as they come.
And both men in the ring facing each other knew that. They had spent
weeks preparing for this opportunity, and it was clear from the
expression in their faces alone that they were going to give it their
all, and then some. For the prize of the MWF Championship was in
their sights. If they could beat their opponent, then they would well
be on their way to winning the title. Troy, tonight, looked nothing
but all business. Eyes narrowed as he looks towards his opponent who
leans against the ropes, preparing himself both physically and
mentally for the match.
JP: You can really feel the heat and
concentration of the situation.
Sully: You know what? Troy seems different.
I don't think that, tonight, he is going to be messing around. I
think it's gonna be all business.
JP: Well, if you are judging by the look of
deep concentration on his face, then I have to agree. He does look
primed and ready for this bout.
Troy glares at his opponent who glares back. The bell rings and
the two men launch everything they have at each other immediately. It
is the pace and charisma of Troy that gets him on top in the early
stages. Landing a huge elbow to the face of his opponent and knocking
NomaD back onto the canvas. NomaD is up quickly, though, pulling
himself up to his feet and lunging for Troy, knocking them both into
the turnbuckle. NomaD takes off a bit too much as he lunges and leans
against Troy's upper body and shoulders to stop himself from going
over the turnbuckle. He finds his fight again and opens up on Troy
with some heavy fists that rattles Knight, who writhes in the corner.
JP: A hard fight back after a shaky initial
start from NomaD, and he is getting &endash;all- fired up
here!
Sully: You know what's amazing? The fans are
just as much behind NomaD as they are Troy!
NomaD takes a skipping step backwards, allowing his opponent to
stumble forwards straight into a huge back drop. NomaD looks over his
shoulder before dropping backwards, landing a huge elbow drop to the
throat of Troy. He goes for the cover. 12- Troy kicks out with time
to spare. Holding onto his neck, Troy pulls himself up. NomaD is
quick to capitalise, and he grabs onto the competitor and delivers a
perfect scoop slam. Troy sits up again and shakes his head in
disbelief and also frustration. Again, he picks himself up and goes
for a flying clothesline, but is brought down easily by an arm drag.
JP: NomaD, who seems in complete control of
this match, is not giving Troy any chance! He is keeping him
controlled well, and not letting Troy get settled.
Troy stands again and runs at NomaD, who ducks down and lays on
the mat. Troy jumps over him, rebounds off the opposite ropes and,
with NomaD standing, jumps in an attempt to land some sort of
axe-kick. He is caught out yet again by NomaD, who hits him with a
drop kick that lands him hard on his back and shoulders. Troy rolls
onto his front, grimacing, and NomaD skitters over for the count.
12.Troy gets the shoulder up with a bit more bother than previously.
NomaD stands, looking fresh and in control of the match, breathing
heavily, and looking pumped. He certainly looks more able to win the
match than Troy who staggers to his feet and, with the assistance of
the ropes, stands. There is a moment where the two just glare at each
other, and this time, Troy does nothing. He waits until NomaD lunges
at him before diving down and dragging the rope down with him, this
sending NomaD over the top rope and onto the floor surrounding the
ring. This gets a mighty pop from the audience, especially as the
wrestlers leave the ring so soon after the match has begun.
JP: And NomaD just went soaring over the top
rope, with a little help from Troy of course.
Sully: God. He's like a broken
record.
JP: What do you mean?
Sully: Well, he used the same damn technique
against Heart last week.
JP: What does that matter?
Troy stands up again, brushing some of his golden locks from his
hair before hitting the canvas and sliding out of the ring. He stands
up on the outside and leans down, grabbing onto the head of NomaD
before dragging him up. He stands him up before throwing him
violently into the audience barrier to his side. The fans 'woot!'
loudly as he does, and Troy, who looks frustrated and angry, lays a
heavy beat down on NomaD, striking him with sharp kicks. NomaD cries
out as he is struck repeatedly, and it takes the referee to break it
up. The referee orders that they go back to the ring, and Troy grabs
NomaD by the dyed red hair, pulling him from the floor and moving him
towards the ring.
JP: Troy Knight not looking himself. He
looksmanic.
Sully: That's what the MWF World
Championship does to people.
JP: Well, he certainly looks all business
here tonight. And I don't think people are gonna be betting against
him after that explosive little period of violence.
Troy slides under the bottom rope after his opponent is rolled in
before going for the cover. 12..NomaD gets the shoulder up.
JP: There is still a long, long way to go in
this match, as both men struggle to keep the other down and
out.
Sully: NomaD is certainly not going to be
taken down by something that, in his normal element, is bread and
butter for him. Troy is gonna have to think harder about how to take
this tough man down.
JP: You are certainly right. NomaD is a
tough son of a gun. He spends most of his time wrestling hardcore
matches, and he didn't win the World Title easily. He is never one to
slack.
NomaD pulls himself into a sitting position, holding onto his
stomach as he does. Troy bounces off the ropes behind him before
running forwards and landing a huge drop kick to the face of NomaD.
There is a cracking contact and NomaD rolls back onto his back,
holding onto his face and Troy moves over towards the turnbuckle.
JP: And Troy looks like he's going to end it
all here! Going for the Rump Thump!
Sully: I don't know if this is such a good
idea.
JP: The fans here in the arena certainly
do!
Troy reaches the top of the turnbuckle and looks down upon the
fallen NomaD. He'd give a little war cry before leaping off in an
attempt to land the Rump-Thump! The fans holler as he goes, but he
gets nothing but canvas. He'd sit up, crying out in pain before going
to peel himself off the canvas.
JP: That had to hurt!
Sully: I'd imagine he was quite used to pain
in that department, though..
Troy grimaces as NomaD capitalises and takes a step back, waiting
for Troy to stand. As Troy eventually finds his feet again, he is
knocked down by a hard clothesline from NomaD. The impact causes the
fans to make a noise of appreciation. NomaD goes for another cover.
12..Troy gets the shoulder up.
JP: Both men trying to get the cover every
chance they get. They really want to face Anarkist. They really want
to win it!
Troy rolls to the edge of the ring and NomaD is very quick to
chase him. He grabs him by the shoulders and slaps him on the chest,
trying to get him to lay in one fixed position as he heads for the
turnbuckle. The fans stand up in excitement as he moves for the
turnbuckle.
JP: And NomaD looking to end it now- going
towards the turnbuckle.
Sully: I don't know how wise this is,
JP.
NomaD watches Troy before leaping off the top and going to land an
elbow drop. He hits it with great aplomb! He hooks the leg. 12Troy
gets the shoulder up yet again.
JP: That was a close call! A close call for
Troy!
Sully: Oh man! NomaD almost had it
then!
JP: But we knew from the beginning that it
was always gonna take a lot to keep either man down. They are both
desperate to win it and get themselves to the title match against
Anarkist.
NomaD holds his head in frustration before standing up and moving
towards the turnbuckle again.
JP: And he looks like he's gonna try to land
the same thing again. I don't know how wise this is.
He leaps off the turnbuckle and goes, again, to land another elbow
drop. Troy is wise to it this time, and moves out of the way. NomaD
hits the canvas hard and Troy moves to his feet. As NomaD pulls
himself up, Troy jumps forwards and hits a huge drop kick that knocks
NomaD into the turnbuckle. Troy stands back up and darts straight at
NomaD. NomaD is equal to it, however, and ducks before standing up
and lifting him over the ropes. Troy tumbles out of the ring and
lands ungracefully right on top of his son. The fans sound shocked as
Troy kneels up and takes his son's head in his hands. Little Bobby
seems out cold.
JP: Oh my God! NomaD justsprang Troy over
the rope and out of the ring, and he went and hit Bobby!
Sully: He did it on purpose! He wanted it to
happen!
JP: Nobody wanted it to happen. It was a
freak accident, but the question is whether or not Troy will continue
this match.
Medics make their way quickly down the ramp to attend to Bobby.
Troy tears his eyes away from his son only long enough to glare at
NomaD with what looks like pure hatred in his eyes. NomaD looks a
little shocked by what has happened and backs off a bit as Troy
slides into the ring. It is not enough however, as Troy swings and
catches his opponent square in the jaw. As they both tumble onto the
ring mat, Troy opens up with a flurry of left and rights. NomaD pulls
away, standing up in a dizzy haze and walking straight into a lift up
onto Troy's shoulders. The fans make a huge sound as Troy runs
forwards and lands a huge drop, landing NomaD on his back hard. NomaD
sits up and holds his back, giving Troy enough time to head to the
turnbuckle.
JP: Troy is so heated up! He's gone
absolutely mental!
Sully: Get the security! He's gonna do
serious damage to NomaD!
NomaD lays flat on the ground and Troy, after glancing quickly in
the direction of Bobby, leaps off the turnbuckle. Hitting the Rump
Thump perfectly! The fans cheer as he goes for the cover. 12NomaD
gets the shoulder up. But only just. Troy kneels up before slamming
his palms onto the canvas in pure frustration. He'd stand up again,
moving for the corner again. There he waits, allowing NomaD to stand
before darting forwards. We never see what he has in mind however, as
NomaD, who looks groggy and uncertain, drops Troy for a drop-toe
hold, hitting his face straight into the lower rung of the buckle.
The fans sound appalled, but NomaD doesn't bother himself with this
and pulls him away for the cover. 12Troy manages just to get the
shoulder up.
JP: What's it gonna take? What's it gonna
take for one of these to win this match?
Troy holds his face as he rolls to the side. Both men take their
time getting up, and it is hard to tell who is going to be the one to
stand up first. As the count is about a third of the way through,
they both seem to find their feet at about the same time. They both
turn to face each other. Groggy and beaten. It is Troy that swings
first. The punch is blocked, and NomaD swings a fist of his own that
catches Troy himself. Troy staggers backwards and falls against the
turnbuckle. NomaD leans against the ropes behind him for support
before slouching forwards and going to capitalise on Troy's fatigue
and hurt, but it is Troy that capitalises, on NomaD's grogginess,
moving out of the way as NomaD lunges, letting him hit himself into
the turnbuckle. He turns around as NomaD stumbles backwards and gets
him in a roll-up. The fans, brimming with excitement as they have
been through out the entire match, cheer. 123!
JP: What the-?!
Sully: Troy won again!
JP: Troy pulling a victoryout of no where
it seems!
Sully: How ironic! In a match that looked
like it could end at any time after the numerous hard-hitting moves,
ends with a simple roll-up!
Peter Santos: And your winner, through pinfall, Troy
Knight!
NomaD sits up, holding his head. Troy cuts short the celebrations
to skip up the ramp, asking officials about Bobby, barely taking the
victory into account Caring more about his kid NomaD looks
distraught, holding his head and leaning down, teeth gritted in a
grimace that really says it all
