[Opening up to a brand new scene, we see the
promising star Steven Douglas at his Tampa, Florida home. Behind him are, as
expected, Tampa Bay Buccaneer memorabilia. A neon Buccaneer sign is
radiating a red colour, and his Buccaneer clock ticks continually.
Traditional cigarette in hand, he sits with a relative calm look on his face
as he takes a deep drag, blows '"o"'s in the air, and looks at the camera
with a grin, letting his glowing white teeth shine. The camera focuses on
"The Enervator", and after a short stare, Douglas begins to speak.]
Steven Douglas: Well, alright, so I missed the bulk of
Japan's tour. I'll deal with that. I missed out on the amazing match between
Tempest and Ramsey. I'll deal with that. However, I also missed out on the
reasoning which allows Insane Wayne and Gunman Stinger to get two chances at
the tag team titles. If I am not mistaken, I defeated them not too long ago,
so shouldn't I get a chance at the belts? Can you imagine it, one man with
both tag team titles! It could happen, better chance of that than Wayne and
GMS winning the belts either week. My best guess is that Walker feels bad
that Gunman is going to lose the title, so he is going to give him not one,
but two chances at another title. You all should know that I am coming home
with that Television title next week, it's becoming more and more of a
blatant fact.
[Douglas clears his throat and continues.]
Steven Douglas: It's not that I am being cocky or
arrogant, but in this case, it seems as if I am only speaking the truth.
What does Gunman Stinger have on me? Beating him one week, then beating him
again the next when he has a partner shows that, even with help, he does not
have what is required to defeat me. The plain and simple fact of the
situation is that I am the one to take this federation from rags to riches,
whilst Gunman Stinger is no more than a kid in a supporting role. I am sure
that, when he first arrived, it was his intention to become the greatest
wrestler we have ever seen. However, everyone has that thought, but only one
can fulfil that dream to its fullest, and I am confident that I am the man
to do it. The method in which Gunman Stinger won the title was cheap; it was
against a mentally weakened Gutter Rat.
[Douglas takes another hit of his cigarette, letting the menthol soak
into the wallpaper. Smoke fills the room, leaving the light coming from a
window in the room to leave an eerie glow as it pierces the smoke. Douglas
lets the cigarette burn, letting the ashes fall below his hand into an
ashtray.]
Steven Douglas: It has been a while coming when I
get my shot at a prestigious title in this federation. I had a chance to win
the tag team belts, but because my partner was the incompetent Lee Watson, I
added one of eight losses to my record. Check the facts, I was the last man
standing in that match with Insane Wayne, before he unfortunately eliminated
me. If only my partner could have helped me with some of the bulk, I could
have saved my energy for the end of the contest. I was stuck with the
sinking feeling of a devastating loss...and a title was on the line. Then
there were the times when I was in contendership bouts with men like
Wildfire and Doomsday, but I constantly let the opportunity slip out of my
grasp. No longer will I be held from my true destiny; I will win this title,
no doubt about it.
[Douglas inhales the smoke that is still slowly drifting around the
room.]
Steven Douglas: I have the odds on my side, not
just because of the two victories I hold over Gunman Stinger, not just
because of my winning streak, it's because I deserve it in every sense of
the word. After the disappointments I endured during my attempts to win the
title, I now deserve happiness, and the Television title. I can guarantee
you that after I do win, I won't let the belt go easily. My opponents will
have to pry the belt out of my cold, dead hands if they want it. When I
reach the plateau that I have been waiting to arrive at for so long, there
is no doubt in my mind that the emotions will run rampant and I will let the
entire world get a taste of what it feels like to achieve something you have
always wanted and desire. It's that sort of desire that drives me to be such
a perfectionist in whatever I do. It's in my blood; victory runs with me
where ever I go. Gunman Stinger, take that belt and do whatever it is you do
to it that makes it so shiny, because when I win it next week I want the
gold to be shining bright.
[Douglas again brings the cigarette to his mouth and lets the smoke fill
his lungs, before letting it out in the already smoky room.]
Steven Douglas: Final words for you Stinger,
beware. Simple as that, all you need to know is beware. I'm not one for
warnings anymore, but I am allowing you this to be completely prepared for
your immense loss. I see you walking with the belt backstage, how much you
enjoy the title. I love knowing that I will be the man to take all of that
love and compassion for that title and bring it into my lap. I felt great
when the people at Project Xero named me the number two ranked wrestler in
the entire organization, and I am sure that the feeling of being recognized
in such a way and having the Television title around my waist will be a
terrific feeling. Goodbye for now, but come next Monday, the only goodbye
you will be saying is to your belt.
[The camera cuts back to JP and Sully who are in the arena at ringside.]
JP: And we're back to the
Xtreme title bout![The scene now
opens to ViperJ and a completely, utterly, totally blood covered Grudge
fighting, with The Grudge locking in a scoop slam, then throwing ViperJ to
the concrete. ViperJ holds his back in utter agony as The Grudge attempts to
lift a garbage can to hit ViperJ with, but as he goes to lift it, the can
seems too heavy, catching The Grudge off guard and knocking him off balance
to the floor. The Hobo pops out of the can with a beer bottle in his hand
and screams "Wadda Wadda!" before smashing the bottle over The Grudge's
head. The Hobo climbs out of the can and turns it upside down. He attempts
to climb it, but slips. No matter to him, he gets back to his feet and
successfully onto the top of the can. With ViperJ laying on the cement, The
Hobo goes to the air with a modified-to-fit-the-height Spare Change Splash.
Chris Forrest goes to the cement to count the pin, 1...2...3!]
Peter Santos: Here is your new Xtreme
champion, The Hobo!
[The Hobo steals the belt from Chris Forrest
and gets to his feet, doing an off balance jig before seeing that The Grudge
was getting to his feet. The Hobo rushes off, figuring if he managed to stay
away from the opponents for the remainder of the show, he could remain
champion. The Grudge gets to his feet, searching for The Hobo before
grabbing Chris Forrest by the collar, asking him where The Hobo went.
Forrest points left, and The Grudge runs off furiously screaming, "Give me
back my belt!". Once The Grudge leaves, a few officials are seen rolling the
cart that Seraph is in to where the fighting was. ViperJ gets back to his
feet after the entire ordeal and walks to the crate, scratching his head in
confusion to where everyone went. After constant kicking and punching, the
lock breaks off the crate and Seraph pops out quickly. He sees that ViperJ
is in front of him, so he goes to grab him, however as he does the crate is
shut, slamming Seraph back in. The man who shut it is dressed in a military
uniform, buzz cut hair and an emotionless face. Forrest asks who he is and
what he is doing, with his only response being, "This is a classified
matter, and you can refer to me as Serge". The man quickly rushes off with
the crate to the outside of the arena.]
Sully: What just
happened?
JP: I believe Seraph was abducted...
Sully: Well, can't say I'll miss him, gave
me the creeps.
[A completely confused ViperJ screams for
everyone to stop as they were having an argument about what to do with the
Seraph situation. ViperJ screams, "What the hell is going on and where is
the champion?" An official points left, and ViperJ takes off in the
direction as the dispute begins again. The scene cuts now to The Hobo, who
is running for his life. Completely exhausted and at a dead end, he decides
to find a covered table to hide under while he recuperates. Not long after,
The Grudge gets to the dead end and stops completely. He has a smile on his
face now, saying things such as, "Come on out Hobo, fight like a man!" These
taunts do nothing to the Hobo, and the failures indeed get The Grudge
frustrated. He takes his frustration and turns it into creativity, beginning
to look for something around the area.]
JP: What is he looking
for?
Sully: If he's giving it to Hobo, it had
better be a bar of soap.
[Eventually The Grudge ends his search with
what he wanted, ending back up in the place he was before. He begins to
shake his hand, letting the sound of metal clashing ring out, like music to
The Hobo's ears. "You hear that, spare chaaange!" says The Grudge,
continually shaking his hand. The Hobo does all he can to resist, grabbing
his hair and beard, slapping his face around, but the temptation of change
is too great. He pops out from his hiding spot behind the table with the
belt in hand saying, "Trade?" The Grudge seems surprised, but goes through
with the switch. The Hobo puts the belt in his right hand, while The Grudge
puts the change in his right also. The Grudge drops the change in The Hobo's
hands, but as soon as that happens, The Hobo dashes backwards in an attempt
to get away with the belt and the change. Unfortunately, he does not get
far, forgetting that it is a dead end immediately behind him. Not taking
more than three steps, he slams into the wall and then falls to the floor.
The Grudge rolls his eyes, then goes for the pin fall after referee Chris
Forrest catches up with them. 1...2...3!]
Peter Santos: Here is your new Xtreme
champion, The Grudge!
[The scene again cuts out.]
