"Razor" Lee Watson
versus
"The Deadly One" Doomsday
King of Kings Tournament Qualifying Match
Referee: Charles Galliant
Writer: Dom Stoate
[After Razor makes his grand entrance, leaving Doomsday waiting it
out, making final preparations from inside the ring, the fans chant
his name.]
Sully: I can't believe what an ego Razor
has in fact, I don't like either of these guys one bit!
JP: Well, neither have had the greatest run
of results as of late, Razor has only won one match in his career!
Doomsday was once the World Champion, but he hasn't been showing the
same form that he was once renowned for.
[Doomsday glares at Razor as he slides in before darting forwards
and going to strike the man with a few shots to the back of the head.
Razor rolls away from the shots and pulls himself to his feet.
Doomsday turns and thunders forwards, going to nail his smaller
opponent with an early big boot. Razor is much too fresh to fall for
it, and hits the canvas before the boot can make contact. Doomsday
rushes on by, narrowly avoiding hanging himself up on the ropes. He
turns around and takes an elbow shot to the side of the face that
knocks him off balance, followed by another, and then another. The
fourth is not landed, however, as Doomsday manages to get an arm up
to block the elbow and lock his opponent up in the collar-elbow
tie-up.]
JP: Doomsday managing to turn the tide,
managing just about to stop anymore big blows being landed.
[Doomsday, being the bigger of the men by quite a way, locks Razor
into a head lock and tightens the hold. He'd reduce Razor to
screaming as he keeps the headlock locked in. The referee eventually
steps in and interrupts the hold. Razor takes a little bit too long
to recover, hands reached up to his collar and neck area to hold, and
this gives Doomsday a chance to counter attack. Grabbing onto the
back of his head and moving him towards the turnbuckle. He is not
gentle when he throws his opponent into the turnbuckle and begins to
throw lefts and rights into the face of Razor. Razor writhes in the
corner before being allowed to stumble forwards, straight into a huge
clothesline that knocks him backwards onto his shoulders. Doomsday
drops down and goes for the cover, not bothering to hook the legs.
12..-Razor gets the shoulder up. Razor struggles to his feet, and
Doomsday is not too hurried to take initiative. He'd allow Razor to
pick himself to his feet before rushing forwards and cracking the man
hard in the stomach with an outstretched knee. Razor rolls over his
knee and lands on his back. Razor hits the canvas hard and stumbles
onto his knees, going to get to the ropes.]
JP: And Razor, the self-proclaimed 'King of
the World' is getting a real beat down at the hands of
Doomsday.
Sully: Well, this is what you get when you
can't back up what your mouth says.
[Doomsday moves quickly to his opponent and grabs him by the hair
and pulls him up. Razor cries out as he is dragged to his feet and
shoved into the corner once more. Doomsday opens up with a flurry of
blows that send his head each way. At this point, the audience begin
to chant the name of Razor, trying to will him into fighting back,
but, at the hands of Doomsday, he seems weak and ineffective.
Doomsday takes his time landing hits and nails his opponent in the
gut before backing him towards the ropes and thrusting him forwards.
Razor comes forwards off the ropes. Doomsday, as he did before, runs
forwards for the big boot, but Razor finally shakes out of the
succession of blows that he was receiving. Ducking beneath the boot,
he'd stop the other side of his opponent before grabbing his had and
hitting the neck breaker. This draws a big applause from the
Razor-supporters. Doomsday would stagger back to his feet, hands
holding his head. Razor would regain his lost composure, snapping out
a foot to nail his opponent in the stomach before hitting him with a
stunner-like move. Doomsday drops onto his knees before rolling onto
his back again on the canvas. Razor drops to his knees before going
for the quick cover. 12.Doomsday gets the shoulder up with ease.]
JP: Well, what a table turner! A neck
breaker followed by a stunner-like move has turned this match around,
and now it is Razor laying the beat down on the ex-MWF World
Champion.
[Razor grabs onto the ropes before nailing the past Champion with
a few solid stomps to his head. Doomsday writhes in the corner as he
is stomped upon, the majority of the fans cry out Razor's name. Razor
turns around, clapping his hands to get more support from the
audience before stepping aside and waiting for his opponent to stand.
Doomsday holds onto the bottom rope, doing his best to pick himself
up as quickly as possible. He manages to haul himself up, but not in
time to avoid a running drop kick from Razor. Doomsday is powered out
of the ring by the move, and this is greeted by a huge roar from the
entertained audience.]
JP: Razor has taken him straight out of the
ring with that one, and he looks to follow him.
[Razor climbs out of the ring after his opponent, and lands his
feet on the outside. He moves towards Doomsday, moving quicker than
Doomsday was, knowing that he can not afford to under estimate the
strength and power of the once MWF World Champion. He slams Doomsday's
ribs with a sharp kick, knocking him into the fan barrier before
nailing him with a second kick..and then a third. The fans continue
to get behind the one that is apparently the underdog of the match,
and chant his name as he grabs onto the head of Doomsday, and moves
him towards the ring. He, apparently, underestimates Doomsday's
recooperation ability, however, and as he goes to throw him into the
ring, Doomsday grabs onto the back of his head and throws him
straight into the steel steps. A number of the fans roar in
appreciation of this, but it is Razor who cries out the loudest, arms
wrapping around himself as he hits the steps shoulder-first.
Doomsday, who is not 100% after the treatment he had received
previously, staggers a little bit as he leans down to grab Razor,
once again, by the hair and pull him towards the ring. He is more
successful than his opponent at getting the other into the ring.]
JP: Razor is trying his damn hardest, but he
doesn't seem able to get a firm grip hold in this match, and the size
and strength of his opponent, I think, is really starting to
show.
Sully: Doomsday is being much too rough,
though. The referee should really do something about that
hair-pulling.
JP: I don't think the referee is going to
want to critisize Doomsday. He isn't exactly small.
Sully: The referees should show more
bravery, y'know? They should really step in.
[Doomsday slides beneath the bottom rope after his opponent and
quickly goes for the cover. 1...2-Razor gets the shoulder up.]
JP: Let's not forget that although this is
not for any immediate title win, the winner of this will advance in
the King of Kings tournament for the World Title.
Sully: And imagine Doomsday's upset when he
loses this one. One-time World Championm losing to a rookie!
JP: I don't know what you have against
Doomsday. He's a quality athlete with a lot of ability, and I think
he is going to come out of this one with the win. Let's not forget
his experience which is irreplacable in the wrestling
business.
[Doomsday kneels up and pulls Razor to his feet. He'd walk him
towards the ropes and leans him into them before pushing him
forwards. Razor comes off the ropes, and runs straight into a huge
clothesline that takes him well off his feet. The fans sound
appalled, but also at the same time pleased with the display. They
are on their feet as Doomsday lays over for the cover.1...2...Razor
manages, just about, to get the shoulder up again. Doomsday lowers
his head and pounds his hands onto the canvas in frustration before
pulling himself up to his feet again, shaking his head.]
Sully: You think the lack of Wayne in
Twisted Vizion is having an effect on Doomsday?
JP: I don't doubt that for a second. I think
that the whole of Twisted Vizion is effected, and I can't help but
think that his firing was the beginning of the end for this famous
tag team.
Sully: That would be great!
JP: It would certainly blow the Tag Team
division wide open.
[Doomsday leans down again to pull his opponent up into a standing
position again. He is not slow or gentle in doing this. He is
forceful particularly as he shoots out a foot into the gut of the
dizzy and dazed Razor. Razor is doubled up and Doomsday raises his
arm in an unmistakable gesture to the audience.]
JP: It's the-
[As he goes for the Shotgun Blast, Razor shakes himself out of
what looks like a trance, leans back and hits a huge clothesline that
throws Doomsday backwards onto his shoulders and the back of his
head. This standing clothesline of such awesome power draws a real
applaud from the audience. Both men lay flat out on the canvas,
Doomsday reaches up to his neck, struggling to get himself together.]
JP: What a reversal, and what a move from
the young man from Scotland!
Sully: What a shot! He really put Doomsday
in his place there!
[Both men struggle to their feet. It is Razor that begins to find
his feet first. He pulls himself up and struggles to lean against the
ropes. Doomsday struggles and eventually finds his feet as well as
Razor. The two stumble and find themselves meeting in the middle of
the ring. Razor, perhaps the fresher of the two, slams his foot into
the gut of his opponent, doubling him up. He'd hook his head in for
his finisher, but no! It is reversed. Doomsday straightens himself up
quickly and snaps out of the hold. Razor turns around, straight into
a choke hold.]
JP: Oh my!
[The fans are on their feet as Doomsday grips Razor by the throat.
His eyes widened, Razor is hauled up The cameras flash as he is
lifted and then slammed down hard onto his back with a great impact.]
JP: Lock 'n' Load! Lock 'n' Load! Lock 'n'
Load!
Sully: I think it's over, JP!
[Razor lays out in the middle of the ring. Doomsday drops onto his
knees and goes for the cover. 123! Doomsday hauls himself to his
feet and stands, arms raised. He seems relatively flustered, but for
the most part, he is okay.]
JP: What a win! And Doomsday has advanced to
the next round!
Sully: Yeah, but come on!
JP: What?
Sully: He beat someone that has only won one
match since his arrival! Doomsday is gonna have a lot more of a
challenge soon
Peter Santos: And your winner through pinfall, "The Deadly One"
Doomsday!
