"Phoenix" Sean Harley
versus
Wildfire
Singles Match
Referee: Grant August
Writer: Paddy Stoate
JP: Well then folks, it looks like up next
is the singles matchup between 'The Phoenix', Sean Harley, and
Wildfire, who in my view Sully has the potential to win this
match.
Sully: No way, JP! Wildfire had a chance,
and he failed! Let's not forget it was Harley who took Wildfire out
of the Madness Rumble!
JP: Well, that is true, but what a match
that was! However, let's not dwell on that, as I believe the match is
about to start.
[This is true, as Biohazard's 'Last Man Standing' hits the PA, and
onto the ramp comes Sean Harley, boos cascading from the crowd at the
man in the black trunks, 'P' on the back in fiery colours.]
Peter Santos: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contestis
scheduled for one fall, making his way to the ring, from Chelmsford,
England; weighing in at two hundred and twenty pounds, 'Phoenix',
Sean Harley!
[He walks down the aisle, soaking up the jeers, and rolls into the
ring, quickly ascending the nearest turnbuckle. However, as he raises
his arms, the fans cheer as his music is cut, and Marilyn Manson's
'The Beautiful People' interrupts it. His head whirls round to the
top of the ramp, where, sure enough, the trademark yellow spotlight
reveals Wildfire, much to the screaming fans' delight.
Peter Santos: And his opponent, weighing in at two hundred and
thirty pounds, Wildfire!
[Wildfire is wearing shorts, blue, with a small 'W' at the bottom
of each leg. Wildfire and Sean Harley lock eyes for a second.]
JP: Just look at these guys, Sully; they are
focused! Wildfire is obviously seeing the man who eliminated him from
the Madness Rumble with a cheap pin-
Sully: Hey, it was perfectly legitimate, JP,
the ref didn't see it!
JP: While Sean Harley is seeing an obstacle
in his somewhat faltering rise back into the MwF spotlight.
[Wildfire jogs down to the ring and slides in, but before he gets
anywhere, Harley pounces, stomping viciously on him, but he is forced
back by elderly referee Grant August, who tells the timekeeper to
ring the bell for the start of the match, once Wildfire is up. The
bell is indeed rung, and Wildfire and Harley lock up, going through
the old routine of collar-elbow tieup, rope whip, shoulder block.
However, when Wildfire bounces off the ropes, Harley does not roll
over, instead opting to jump upwards. This surprises Wildfire, who
runs directly into a clothesline that sends him rolling into the
corner, holding his head. Harley does not miss a beat, and quickly
follows up with a series of stomps to the head, Wildfire crying out
in pain, Harley grinning with glee. He steps back, arms raised, to
the boos of the fans, while Wildfire pulls himself to his feet in the
corner. Harley turns back and runs, crushing him with a Body Splash.
Wildfire steps forward as Harley moves, falling flat on his face
before rolling over onto his back. Harley climbs up onto the
turnbuckle, and looks like he is going for some kind of Elbow Drop,
when Wildfire, showing great resilience, quickly gets up and darts
over, grabbing Harley and shoving him off the top rope to the outside
of the ring.]
JP: Splendid ring presence by Wildfire
there!
Sully: Look how Harley fell! He coulda been
hurt!
[Harley is in the centre of the camera's view, but, suddenly, as
he is standing, Wildfire dives out of the ring, landing a Suicide
Plancha! However, he mis-times it, and lands directly on the top of
his head, while still hitting Harley. Both men are knocked flat,
seconds passing before either is up. The ring out count is now up to
seven. At eight, Harley climbs to his feet and rolls a limp Wildfire
into the ring, covering him, but only achieving a two count.]
JP: Look at the resilience of Wildfire, even
after landing on his head in the sickening way he did, he is still
able to kick out!
[Harley drags Wildfire to his feet, Snapmaring him and holding on,
thus locking in a Rear Chin Hold, which causes Wildfire to cry out in
pain again. Wildfire reaches desperately for the ropes, but cannot
get to them. Harley puts a lot of pressure into the hold, before
standing Wildfire up and lifting him, stalling him in the air for a
moment in a perfect Suplex position, then dropping him hard on his
back. All this time, he keeps the hold on the neck of Wildfire, who
seems to be fading fast. Now, Harley modifies the Chinlock into a
Sleeper Hold, and Wildfire, after a bit of initial struggling, starts
to fade very rapidly. His arms slowly lower, as do his eyelids, and
he slumps against Harley, who grins with delight. The referee grabs
Wildfire's arm and drops it, then again, both times the arm falling
limply to Wildfire's side. He finally lifts it one more time, but,
Justa s it is about to hit the mat, Wildfire's eyes shoot open, and
his arm rockets skywards, one finger pointing in the same direction.
This prompts a massive cheer from the crowd, which in turn seems to
fuel 'Fire, who slowly stands, lifting Sean Harley and dropping him
in a Backdrop! Both men are down, panting heavily, the fans willing
on Wildfire with all their vocal might. Suddenly, Wildfire performs a
nip-up, much to the delight of the fans. He grabs Sean Harley,
pulling him to his feet and whipping him into the turnbuckle. Harley
hits hard, and stumbles backwards, holding his chest, right into a
rollup from Wildfire. 1..2..Harley kicks out, both men getting up
quickly, and runs at Wildfire, going for a clothesline. Wildfire
ducks, and bounces off the ropes himself, and as Harley comes back,
lands a huge Huracanrana! Sean is sent across the ring, and pulls
himself up by grabbing onto the shirt of Grant August, who tries to
back away. Harley turns, and Wildfire throws a Spinning Wheel Kick at
him, but Sean moves, causing Wildfire to hit August, who slumps to
the canvas in a daze! Wildfire stares at him, before turning round.
Harley, who has climbed to his feet, goes to land a Clothesline, but
Wildfire ducks and lands a Spinning Kick! Harley crumples to the mat.
Wildfire looks at referee Grant August, before climbing out of the
ring and grabbing a chair from ringside. He rolls back in, and is
about to hit Harley when he is grabbed from behind by The Hobo!]
JP: What the hell? What's he doing
here?
Sully: He's stopping Wildfire from cheating
with that chair, that's what he's doing!
[Hobo spins Wildfire and lands the Hobo Cutter! He then puts
Harley on top of Wildfire and wakes August, who counts. 12Wildfire
kicks out! Wildfire kicks out of the Hobo Cutter! Harley sits up,
holing his head and staring at Hobo, who looks horrified. Sean Harley
now picks up Wildfire, and kicks him in the stomach, looking to be
setting him up for the Fiery Grave! Wildfire is now on Harley's
back]
Sully: Fiery Grave! Fiery Grave! Harley's
got it!
JP: Surely not!
[Harley is about to drop Wildfire for the Fiery Grave, when
Wildfire rolls forwards off Harley's back, putting him in a tight
rollup, and placing his feet on the ropes for leverage. August
counts, 123!! Wildfire wins with a rollup!]
JP: Wildfire did it!
Sully: He cheated!
JP: He did exactly the same as Harley did in
the Madness Rumble!
Peter Santos: And your winner by Pinfall, Wildfire!
