MWF Television Title Number One Contender

"The Deadly One" Doomsday

Vs

Odin

Writer: Ed Walker/Scott Worthington

JP: This match is going to be off the scale, these two men are really gunning for the victory tonight.

Sully: A chance to go on and become the MWF Television Champion is enough to inspire anyone, particularly these two.

JP: Doomsday, a former MWF Television Champion, he wants his belt back and he's not going to let Odin stand in his way.

Sully: Odin is climbing the ranks of the MWF, using his cool and calculated approach he's been cutting through the roster and has found his way to this match against "The Deadly One".

JP: Doomsday is one of the top wrestlers in the MWF today and after months of being with "Twisted Vizion" he is back to being a lone ranger.

Sully: I always thought he was better when working alone but maybe I was wrong, he's a tough wrestler to beat...

JP: ...he's fought a hell of a lot of matches in the MWF, many of them were as part of "Twisted Vizion" and his vast experience could prove too much for Odin tonight.

Sully: The young rookie may find this a bit of a different challenge compared to some of his previous matches, Doomsday will never give in, never surrender the fight until he is an actual bloody pulp on the canvas.

JP: You seem to havve more respect for him now that he's left "Twisted Vizion".

Sully: I think everyone does, no longer is he Walker's play thing but rather he is the man who could in my mind challenge Troy for the MWF World Heavyweight Championship.

JP: He's a former MWF World Heavyweight Champion and there is no reason why Doomsday could not go on and reach that pinnacle once more.

Sully: Beating Ace Spade for the biggest prize in the game is no small feat and Doomsday accomplished that and he's a figurehead for the MWF.

JP: He has always acted in a manner that benefits the Maximum Wrestling Federation, he gives credit where it is due and he's not afraid to defend the interests of the MWF.

[Peter Santos is making his way into the centre of the ring and the crowd are hushed as they watch the MWF's main announcer below out the match scenario.]

Peter Santos: This match is scheduled for one fall, and is for the number one contendership of the Maximum Wrestling Federation Television Championship!

[The crowd roar at this announcement and the camera focus' on a fan who has made a lifesize cardboard cutout of Doomsday and is wildly waving it for the camera to see.]

Sully: I hope Sean Harley will be watching this match, he'll be anxious to see how his possible opponents are performing.

JP: Harley came through the match with Jamie Slade tonight, and the look of relief on his face was there for all to see...many were tipping "The" Jamie Slade to win the belt but he just failed to put it all together and unsettle Sean Harley.

Sully: I still believe that Sean Harley can become the MWF Heavyweight Champion, he's got the skills and the experience to be right up there challenging for the belt....in my mind he should have been in the King of Kings tournament.

JP: Nightmare still haunts Sean Harley, he was in the main event at Nightmare in that historic three falls match and yet he couldn't manage a single pinfall against NomaD, Ace Spade and Troy Knight.

Sully: It might haunt him but it's experiences like that which have made him stronger, you saw him when he went out there and wrestled in the MCPW match...he was like a different wrestler altogether.

[Peter Santos raises the mic once again and the crowd look towards the entrance way as Santos bellows.]

Peter Santos: Introducing first, weighing in at 250 lbs., Odin!

[A jeer goes up from the crowd as "Into The Void" by Nine Inch Nails hits the PA system and Odin comes striding out from behind the curtain. The MaxiTron lights up and shows images of Odin's previous victories in the MWF, Odin looks up at the MaxiTron and smiles at his past exploits.]

JP: This young man seems to think he has a big future ahead of him in the MWF, at nineteen years old it's quite frightening the confidence that he has.

Sully: Just beginning to really break into his stride, Doomsday has met Odin at the wrong moment.

JP: I don't know about that, Odin could be a bit brash here tonight...he may try to do moves that shouldn't be done against such a veteran of the MWF.

Sully: Doomsday will be cut down to size and Odin will score a precious victory and march on towards Sean Harley and the MWF Television Championship.

[Odin reaches the ring, he climbs up the ring steps and pauses to look out across the jeering fans, all eight thousand of them are now booing and jeering as Odin steps into the ring and laughs at their jeering. Referee Charles Galliant checks the six foot six figure of Odin for any weapons, as he's doing so there is a massive explosion of red pyro from the entrance way.]

Peter Santos: Introducing the opponent, weighing in at 310 lbs., from New York City, "The Deadly One" Doomsday!

[An eruption of cheers goes up as the pyro explodes again and the first notes of "You Know You're Right" by Nirvana hits the PA system and "The Deadly One" Doomsday strides out through the pyro. He stands tall on the entrance way and looks down at the cheering crowd, a big "Doomsday! Doomsday! Doomsday!" chant goes up around the arena. Odin looks around, rather bemused at the complete support the crowd are showing for Doomsday.]

JP: Just listen to this crowd, they are making it clear that they want Doomsday to come out on top tonight.

Sully: I think they could be disappointed, Doomsday is a powerful force and he does have the weight advantage tonight but it might not be neccessary.

JP: That weight advantage could count for nothing if Odin brings out a top draw performance, but Doomsday has been here and done it so many times.

Sully: The risk there is that he has no desire left to win the MWF Television Championship again, why would a former MWF World Heavyweight, Televeision and Tag Team Champion want to win this belt again?

JP: I've heard a lot of talk that Doomsday is tempted to turn against Shiv, his former "Twisted Vizion" stable mate and go after the MWF Xtreme Championship.

Sully: Making him the most successful MWF wrestler ever having won every single belt that the MWF has on offer.

JP: Insane Wayne came close to this feat, but couldn't capture the MWF World Heavyweight Championship and it's left to Doomsday to try.

[Doomsday has made his way down the entrance ramp and is now inside the ring, he squares up to Odin showing he rules the ring in terms of both height and weight. Odin looks calm and collected as he lowers his stance and prepares to lock up with Doomsday, the crowd roar as Doomsday waves his finger at the younger man and shouts threats and challenges.]

JP: Doomsday knows how to unsettle these younger wrestlers, I think we have to remember that Doomsday is twenty-eight, while Odin is just nineteen.

Sully: It's one of those moments where generations collide, and the result could change the face of the MWF forever.

JP: Many think Doomsday will soon bow out of the MWF, but I don't think he'll ever leave, he's a part of the MWF now....you think Doomsday and straight away you think of the MWF.

Sully: Very true, the MWF has produced some of the greatest wrestlers ever, Ross Allen, Sam King, Anarkist, Ace Spade, The Jeopardizer and I think we'd have to place Doomsday alongside those men.

JP: Not forgetting Wildfire, Troy Knight and Insane Wayne...all products of the MWF so to speak.

Sully: Looks as if this match is about to kick off...

[The bell sounds and the crowd are on their feet cheering as Doomsday and Odin go at it straight away, the two men lock up and Charles Galliant steps back as the grunts of exertion come from both men. Doomsday presses home his size advantage but the legs of Odin stand firm and somehow he is able to withstand the older man's aggression and pushes back Doomsday. The crowd jeer as the knee of Odin comes flying up and cracks into the groinal area of Doomsday, the former MWF World Heavyweight Champion staggers away holding his groin as Odin clubs him from behind, bringing his fist down across the back of Doomsday's head. "The Deadly One" falls to the floor and Odin stands over him, pondering his next move.]

JP: What's he going to do here?

Sully: I don't know but Odin's pressed home his advantage from the word go, that cool and calculated stance is really working tonight.

JP: Poor Doomsday, he must be blind with anger at the cheap shot from Odin.

Sully: Yeah I would be, it must of hurt like hell when that happened.

[Odin pulls Doomsday up to his feet and the crowd roar as "The Deadly One" fights back with an uppercut that knocks Odin backwards, holding his jaw. Doomsday lands a jab to the face of Odin with a right hand and Odin throws his head back in pain. Doomsday grabs Odin and pulls him into a familiar position, Doomsday makes the universal signal for the piledriver, he lifts Odin up by the legs and the crowd roar as Doomsday brings Odin down with a crunch into the canvas. Odin rolls over clutching his face as Doomsday covers him and Charles Galliant counts .....1......2! Odin breaks free of the cover with some power and intent.]

JP: He wasn't staying down there for long, and I don't blame him...Doomsday showing his experience there pulling out the classic piledriver.

Sully: He needed to...Odin was just beginning to find his feet and Doomsday took them straight away.

JP: Really showing his experience and class there Doomsday, for all Odin's calm, cool and calculated attacks then there is nothing that can beat experience.

Sully: You're right there JP, experience is often the key to winning matches...knowing what to do and when to do it.

[Doomsday gets back up to his feet, Odin, who is still a little groggy shortly follows suit but only to be kicked right back down with a kick to the head from The Deadly One. Odin attempts to get up again, but Doomsday keeps him down with yet another kick. This time Odin stays down. Doomsday sees an opening and goes for a leg drop. Odin rolls out of the way and the huge frame of Doomsday hits the canvas like a sack of potatoes.]

JP: Odin knew he had to think of a way to get up and he did it. Counter your opponent and if that doesnt work, count their counters.

Sully: Good thinking from Odin but he still has a long way to go if he wants to put out the big man, Doomsday.

[Odin allows Doomsday to his feet but only for a short while as he locks his arms around Doomsday. Odin then lands a belly-to-belly suplex but hangs on! He picks Doomsday up, still with his arms locked and executes yet another belly-to-belly. Doomsday has no where to go but Odin is going for a hat-trick right here. He picks up Doomsday again, arms locked. He goes for the third belly-to-belly only to be stopped dead in his tracks by a vicious headbutt by Doomsday. The headbutt wobbles Odin but he still hangs on. Doomsday goes for another headbutt but Odin uses the momentum to lift Doomsday off the canvas and hit an over head belly-to-belly suplex! The huge Doomsday flies through the air and lands on the canvas with authority.]

Sully: Wow! Did you see that?! It was like a Bowen 747 landing in the middle of the ring.

JP: That was unbelievable. Odin used his ring knowledge and threw Doomsday half way across the ring like he was a lightweight. Great stuff.

[Somehow Doomsday gets right back to his feet and charges for Odin at a great pace. Odin notices the running monster and flips his body sideways, wraps his arm around the neck of Doomsday and ends up behind him! He then flips backwards and lands a massive inverted DDT! Odin lands a massive Nightmare Snap that causes Doomsday to fall right back down to the canvas. The arena suddenly falls into a weird silence as Odin makes the cover, hooking the outside leg. 1...2....3! Odin got him! Odin wins!]

JP: Odin won! Odin will face Sean Harley, somewhere, someday!

Sully: Oh what a win! He beat Doomsday when the odds were stacked against him tonight.

JP: This is yet another upset for Odin to brag about. His list gets bigger and bigger each and every week. It truely is amazing.

[Odin gets back to his feet to a chorus of boos from the sold out crowd. Charles Galliant raises the hand of Odin who cant believe his luck. He is now the number one contender for the TV title in just a short space of little over a month! Odin will face Sean Harley somewhere down the line.]

Peter Santos: Here is your winner, and the Number One Contender for the MWF Television Title, Odin!

JP: Wow! What a night! What a night!

Sully: It isnt over just yet JP. We have had word that the show after us has been cancelled and we have permission to run into over time here, and thats exactly what we are about to do. Hold onto your seats!
