She closed her tired eyes and locked herself away from the white and black world of work. She took a deep breath and absentmindedly tapped her pencil on her desk. The peace treaty could wait for a moment. Abruptly, a small beep was heard. She groaned. It was her assistant. She pushed a button on her intercom. “Yes, Sarah?” she asked tiredly. The older woman spoke merrily, “You have a call on line 3.” Relena sighed, “Thank You ,Sarah.” Relena pushed line 3. “Moshi Moshi,” she said trying to sound pleasant, her voice straining from the effort. A light laugh was heard at the other end. “Are you that displeased with my call then ,Lena-chan?” a slightly teasing voice questioned. Relena’s eyes widened, a picture of a blond haird, blue eyed girl formed in her mind. She could almost see her delicate fingers playing absentmindedly with the phone cord. “Usagi?!” she screeched. Another laugh, “Why how’d you guess?” Usagi paused, “...You sound tired. How’s work?” Relena groaned. Of course she had to bring that up. “Horrible,” she muttered darkly. “Ahhh..... don’t be so upset! You’ll depress everybody else! And besides, I’d hate to have a grumpy princess on my hands when I come to visit....” Relena blinked, had she heard her correctly? She ran over her friend’s sentence in her head, she DID hear her correctly! “Hontoo ne?!” she yelled into the receiver. “Hontoo!” she said back, “ I’ll be there in two days. I convinced our manager that we could finish off the rest of the work at the studio in Sank. Isn’t that great? And I’m bringing some of my friends too. You’ll finally get to meet everyone!” Relena fought hard not to jump for joy, thus causing her to figet in her leather chair. “Oh Usagi! This is going to be great! I don’t want to wait two days!” she laughed out. “Of course you’ll be staying here with me, ne?” she questioned. Usagi sighed into the receiver, “Gomen ne, Lena-chan, demo, I can’t. It was hard enough to arrange coming there, we’re all going to be staying nearby though. And besides,” she added, “ I REALLY don’t think you’d want all of my friends running through your house.” She chuckled lightly into the receiver. “Not only am I bringing a lot of them, but they can be a handful.....” she trailed off towards the end of her sentence. “Oh well,” Relena said cheerfully. There was no way that she was going to let that damper her now good mood. “I’ll just have to come over there and bug you often...., “She said, blue eyes twinkling. “So, who all are you bringing?” she chirped. Usagi had often enlightened her with the characters and personalities of her friends in her weekly e-mails, so Relena practically knew all of them. “That’s a surprise,” Usagi said mysteriously, “ You’ll know when I get there.” Relena blinked. Why would she make it a surprise? Usagi seamed to have coaght on to her friends confusion, “Oi! Don’t try to figure it out! It won’t be a surprise if you already know before we get there!” Usagi’s small speech ended as a muffled voice made it’s way to Relena’s ears from Usagi’s phone. “yes...,” Usagi said to the voice, “ *sigh* all right......... yeah...... just a minute.” A pause, “Eh Lena? I don’t have much more time. I’ve got to buy some stuff for my trip and we’ll need to leave soon to get it all done. Here’s what you need to know, We’ll be arriving at Sank National at about two PM at terminal 3. Got that?” Usagi said. “Hai,” Relena sighed disappointed that there conversation was stopped so short. She hadn’t heard from her in so long... Relena’s voice betrayed her thoughts when it came out very similar to a pouting child’s, “I’ll be there to great you then, I’m going to bring some friends though. I’m sure they’ll want to meet you,” She grinned. ‘Especially Duo’ she mused mentally, an image of the almost constantly sugar high boy in her mind. What would he do when he saw her. “K,” Usagi agreed, “But make sure that no reporters are there. Last time it leaked out that I was coming ,and the press was everywhere.” Relena laughed nervously, “Hai.... demo that secretary is long gone ,and I know I can trust Sarah.” “Ok then, “Usagi agreed, “I have to go now, but I’ll see you soon! Ja ne!” “Ja ne.” Relena said. A click was heard on Usagi’s end, and Relena hung up as well. She bit her lip to keep herself from screaming in excitement; she didn’t need fifty security guards rushing into her office. It was bad enough that two were stationed at her door. But still, she couldn’t help how she felt. After all, her favorite cousin was coming for a visit! ~~~~~~ Well Minna, that’s it for the prologue! Like it? Hate it?
