| TEAM SCORING SYSTEM |
| There are two 8-player teams: Blue (2002 Champions) and Red (2001/2003 Champions) This is our fourth year playing a Ryder Cup team format. Front Nine: Doubles Match Play (4 points) Within your 8-player team, you will be paired with a partner for the front nine. A foursome will consist of two Blue Team golfers playing against two Red Team golfers in a match-play format. However, be sure to play out every hole because your score is still counting towards your total for the individual competition. (There are no gimmies). How does match play work? For each hole, your team's scores will be added together. The team of two with the lower cumulative score wins the hole. If there is a tie, the hole is considered to be "halved", and counts for nothing. (no carry-overs). The pair winning the most holes is awarded 1 point towards their team total for the day. If the match is decided before the nine holes is completed, finish your round strong. Every hole counts towards the individual competition. If the match ends in a tie, each team will be awarded half a point. Back Nine: Head-to-Head Match Play (8 points) Golfers will play in a head-to-head match play format. Each of the 8 matches will be worth 1 point towards the team competition. Matches ending in a tie will be considered "halved." Pairings will be determined by front nine individual scores, best scores playing last. In the case of front nine ties, captains will determine team playing order. As with the Ryder Cup, the challengers must win the team title. In the case of an overall tie, last year's winning squad (The Red Team) will retain the team bragging rights. The Blue Team needs 6.5 points to win the team competition. |
