"Do you trust me with your life?" Watching Heero nod wordlessly, he quickly stopped. "There's only one way for us to get out of here.. too many soldiers." "Tell me something I don't know, Koi." Panting slightly, Heero stopped next to his braided love. "If you have a plan, I suggest you use it. I'm out of ideas." As soon as the words left his lips he found himself slammed against the brick wall behind him. Unbelieving, he watched as Duo fumbled his pants open. "Uh Duo.. " He began as his member was hit with the cold air. Reaching back behind him, Duo pulled the rubber band out of his hair, shaking it loose into glorious waves. Kneeling before Heero, he took the chilled flesh into his mouth. "Ahhhh!" Heero moaned as his fingers clutched the bricks behind him. Ignoring everything, he quickly lost himself in his lover's warmth. A group of soldiers rounded the corner, guns drawn and ready. "Dammit, where could she be?" one of them yelled angrily, ignoring the men in the alley. "Time to report in. Tell the colonel we haven't found anything but the usual trash." Ignoring the two lovers, they ran off without a backwards glance. *** Wufei skidded to a stop as he nearly ran into the door of the safehouse. Panting, he signaled Quatre and Trowa to follow him. As he shoved the door open, he was struck by the dead silence. "No one's here?" With a panicked look in his eyes, he threw open the door to the makeshift lab. "Dammit! They should have made it back here before us!" "Wufei, calm down! I'm sure everyone is fine." Throwing down his coat, the blond quickly opened the shutters a crack and trained his gun on the street. "I know you're worried, but you shouldn't be. Your man is built like a gundam, and we need to be ready in case company follows anyone home." Trowa nodded in agreement, pulling out another gun and taking a position behind his lover. "Injustice. you shouldn't always be right." With a weak attempt at a smile, the chinese pilot took a stand at the other window. "If he's not back in ten minutes, I'm going after him." Trowa frowned and pointed with his gun. "I don't think you'll have to worry about that. He's right over there. But where's Valdin?" With a muttered oath, Wufei tore out the door to help his lover with the struggling form he was dragging through the street. The man they had rescued was desperately trying to escape. Grabbing his gun by the barrel, he engaged the safety and brought the handle down behind Two's ear. Helping Michael with the suddenly limp form, he pushed his way through the door to the lab area beyond. "What took so long? Where's Valdin?" Lifting their burden onto the table, they looked around for things to secure him with. "Valdin distracted some of the troops so I could get metal-head here to safety. I wanted to come help you, but he threw honor in my face." Positioning the unconscious form carefully, he studied the controls, finally selecting a single button. "That should keep him out for awhile. If you think your friends can keep an eye on him, we should go try to get the others out of there." Nodding, he led the way into the other room. "I think we should get Heero and Duo out of there first. With the mouth on that baka, I'd be surprised if he didn't alert all the troops within a ten mile radius." "Be nice." *** Shaking the dingy yellow hair back from his face, the doctor made a few last adjustments. It was exciting working on a fully grown woman.. so many things were different. Different chemicals coursed through her body, making his job more challenging. Flesh that healed quite easily on the young was harder to knit together. The metals that were welded to her bones were rejected almost instantly, leaving him with the job of attuning her to their presence. The delicious smell of her blood kept him working long beyond the time he would have usually stopped to rest and relax. Ah. how soothing it was to turn the captor into the slave. *** "Will you stop looking at me like that?" Alex glared as he dropped the magazine he had been reading. "I know there's not much to do right now, but could you at least pretend to be paying attention to something else?" Dyana looked at him coldly, standing to look down at him. "Why do you have a problem with me looking at you. Is there something wrong with that?" "Yes! You look hungry. I am not a side of meat, and there's plenty of food in the refrigerator over there." Sighing, he walked over to pull her close. "Look sweetheart, I won't have you throw yourself away on me. There will be someone out there for you, but I'm not it. I've loved someone else for long that she's all I can think about. As tempting as you are, I won't use you. I can't have her.. and I don't even really want her now, but no one can take her place." "I see." Smiling slightly, he stepped back. "I don't think so, but hopefully you will. There's someone out there who can give you their heart, and you'll find them." Sighing, he looked down at his shoes. "Look, I'm going to go out and scout a bit. Hopefully we'll be out of here in a few hours. You stay put. They won't notice a scruffy guy like me, but a beauty like you would stand out." Smiling slightly, he slipped out the door without a backwards glance. *** "Gotta keep myself together.." Valdin whispered as he flexed his muscles and machinery to expel the chunks of metal that had lodged in his chest. Discarding the bodies into the alley, he ran across the roof, jumping to find a better view of the activity below. What were all the soldiers doing here? It couldn't have been because of them. if so they wouldn't have escaped so easily. Especially their sworn enemies, the gundam pilots. Besides, they hadn't even bothered trying to pursue anyone.. it was almost as if they were looking for something. Pressing his hand against his chest, he felt the slickness of oil. Biting his lip, he calculated. Maybe half an hour before he would have to head back and get repaired. But which was more important? Returning to reprogram Two, or finding out what the soldiers were after? Shaking his head, he cast a longing look behind him. He would have to take care of Two first, then they could find out what was going on.. and go look for Four. The more people they had when they fought her.. the less chance of her getting hurt. He couldn't bear the thought of damaging her. "I promised you I'd take care of you.. but look at what I've done. I've saved almost everyone but you.. I'm so sorry.." Wiping away a cold tear, he started back towards his duty. |
