| Disclaimer: I dont own any gundam stuff in any way, shape or form. I also dont own the song No Excuses That belongs to either Lane Staley or Jerry Cantrell, the most awesome musicians Ive ever heard. Im not getting paid for this, and Im poor anyway. Please dont sue. Warnings: This is the third in a series of songfics. If you missed the first two, theyre here: http://members.xoom.com/riouka/ann.html or at http://kaze.iwarp.com No Excuses It's alright There comes a time Got no patience to search for peace of mind Layin' low Wanna take it slow No more hiding or disguising truths I've sold Noin sat in the branches of an old tree, her numb fingers busily writing in a small green novel. And even if I have two people how care about me, nothings the same without you Zechs. I thought I was in love with Quatre.. but Im not. Hes only my best friend. I could try to justify myself, but it would just be lies. Shivering in the cold wind, she pulled her jacket closer and continued writing. I dont know what I should do, but I cant keep pretending feelings I dont really have. Carefully climbing down, Noin tucked the book under her arm. Everyday it's something hits me all so cold You find me sittin' by myself no excuses, then I know How can I ever tell them? I dont have any reasons. Noin looked up at the gray sky and screamed. Zechs.. why arent you here.. whimpering softly, she walked through the graveyard, pausing at the small memorial they had built for him. Quatre and Trowa.. they had been too kind to someone who had nothing left to give. It's okay Had a bad day Hands are bruised from breaking rocks all day Drained and blue I bleed for you You think it's funny, well you're drowning in it too Zechs stood up as the clock ticked quietly, announcing the end of his shift. Lifting his arms over his head, he tried to stretch cramped muscles. Treize glanced up at him as he passed his station. Ill meet you at home, I need to finish this first. Nodding, Zechs smiled slightly, heading towards the outside world. Treize had looked almost angelic, bent over the complicated machinery, his long hair brushing the back of his chair. Take it easy man! One of his friends yelled out as he passed security, finally able to relax. As he dragged himself out to the car, he couldnt help but think how much his life had changed since he and Treize had run off together. The last battles they had fought in had given them the opportunity they had been waiting for. Grinning openly, Zechs ran his hand over his short hair, and glanced at the green contacts he wore in the mirror. It was so perfect.. no one guessed. Well maybe Noin had.. but it didnt matter. Shed never tried to find him. Sighing, Zechs tried once again to drive the dark-haired beauty from his mind. Why did she have to haunt him so much? He had Treize.. a satisfying job that helped the colonies rebuild themselves.. everything he had thought he wanted. Sighing, he pulled over and sat on the side of the road.. thinking. Everyday it's something hits me all so cold You find me sittin' by myself no excuses, then I know It didnt matter what he tried to make himself believe.. he missed Noin. Somewhere inside of him was a part that needed her.. like food, like shelter.. like love. Yeah, it's fine Walk down the line Leave our rain, a cold Trade for warm sunshine You my friend I will defend And if we change, well I love you anyway Noin quietly climbed out of the bed she shared with Quatre and Trowa. Throwing her clothes into her duffel bag, she looked at her lovers for a long moment. Curled up together, they looked like angels, fallen from the heavens to find each other. Her presence had ruined the perfect picture.. with both of them trying to make her happy, not giving enough thought to themselves. Running careful fingers through Quatres hair, she nearly cried at how thin he still was. You are my best friends. She whispered, walking quickly through the mazelike halls. Fumbling with the locks on the front door, she bit back a scream as a warm hand closed on her shoulder, gently holding her in place. Leaving, are you? I knew you would. Quatre smiled sadly as he let her go and pulled the sheet farther up his body. Dont say anything, just go find some happiness somewhere.. and remember were always here for you. Quatre turned and ran quickly back towards his room, scattered teardrops the only sign hed been there. Everyday it's something hits me all so cold Find me sittin' by myself no excuses, then I know Sitting on the bench, Noin looked out into the emptiness of space. As the stars streaked by, she rested her head up against the porthole. Im sorry she whispered, letting her tears hit the pages of her diary, slowly washing away the ink. |
