How do we Solve Problems?

Introduction

Have you ever wondered how scientists solve problems? Today, you will solve a problem using the same investigation as many scientists did in the past and continue to use today. The name of the process is called the Scientific Method.

Scientific Method : steps scientists used to solve problems

  • Scientific method is similar to using common sense
  • There is no one scientific method
  • No set order, the order will depend upon the investigation

Before we begin think about how you would solve these problems below:

Magic Pill ( Claim that the aspirin prevent the common cold) Describe how you would set about conducting a control experiment to test the pills effectiveness

A shampoo commercial claims that Brand A cleans hair better and makes it more shiny than Brand B. Design an experiment to test this claim.
