| Here's a basic SS rifleman as would be seen fighting the Allied push in Normandy. He is armed with the G43 semi-automatic rifle and associated equipment. The helmet has been repainted in OD and weathered with sandpaper. The SS runes shield is printed on clear mailing label and cut out then applied. Unfortunately the clear nature of the label sheet means that the entire image has a transparent property. In order to be able to see it properly and to display it's 'grey' background I had to paint the area on the helmet in which the decal would go. It's not perfect and will be dealt with later! The other gear is mostly MDF (as you fellow bashers know!) with the gasmask can repainted and weathered. The boots are 21C's and I have placed a photo of them here so that you can see the stitching detail which I highlighted with a wash of buff color paint. This really brings out the detail on the boots. 21C is to be commended on the good job they did when making these boots. Anyhoo that's a wrap! -Wills- |
