This is an Adam ver 1.3 that I had laying around. Continuing the DAK theme that I've been obsessed with for several years now! But seeing as how Dragon has FINALLY released an 'official' DAK figure then I can cease with my endless pidling. But I digress....

The highlights of this project (if you can call it that...) are the custom made web braces and cartridge belt. These are made from 1.4 inch and 1.8 inch elastic which as has taken a dye bath in a combination of RIT colors "Tan" and "Yellow".
It's very difficult to get the colors right each time and the polyester content of the elastic makes for wierd colors during the process. If you attempt to dye your elastic I recommend goind all out the first time as you may just get it right! If you are more prepared and prudent than I, you will actually measure and document your procdures as to the ratio of the mix. For me, I eyeball it everytime. Hence my frustration! Oh when will I ever learn....
The uniform tunic and trousers are from the 21C Afrika Korps set. These have dyed as well using RIT colors "Kelly Green", "Cocoa Brown", "Sea Foam Green" and "Tan". The ratio of the uniform dye should be mostly the Seafoam and Tan with the Brown and Kelly green added to balance out the degree of the OD shade you desire. Personally I appreciate the lighter more warm shades of Olive but in some cases it's good to have some constrast when you have a group of OD clad people, such is the case with my gang of DAK fellows.
Other bits of custom work are the breadbag repaint to resemble certain dark brown/green bags used in the desert, gasmask cannister strap (a run of elastic from the dye bath), painted etool carrier (to resemble a web model) and the painted and weathered canteen cup and overall wear of the gear.
