Colonel Miguel L�pez
  Miguel L�pez was the man who was blamed of treasoning Emperor Maixmimilian in Quer�taro. He was born in Puebla on May 12 1827. His father was Jos� Mar�a L�pez Barroso and his mother Do�a Mar�a de la Luz Castillo. His grandfather, Don Antonio L�pez, from Asturias, was a colonel on the viceroyal troops. Two of Miguel's bothers, Agust�n and Mariano belonged also to the Army.
   Miguel married to Do�a Luisa Esc�rzaga who gave him two children: a girl, Mar�a, who married the Sapniard Don Francisco P�rez, and a boy, Maximilian Miguel, who was a godson of Emperor Maximilian. Born on December 16, 1865 in Puebla, Maximilian Miguel studied enginnering and worked in geodesic Comission; he died about 1924.
   Miguel L�pez entered the Army as a volunteer soldier on march 15 1846. He fought in Monterrey against the Americans and i the battle of La Angostura, under General Santa Anna's commands. On January 1st. 1847 he was appinted first sargent and in October that same year, he headed a revolt agaist Santa Anna, who was President of Mexico. For tis reason, on July 1856, L�pez would be withdrawn from the Army by Santa Anna himself.
   In January 1848 L�pez joined in Toluca to the troops of General Benito Quijano. Form 1849 to 1853 he participated in the campaign against the barbaric indians. After having been withdrwan from the Army, he joined the Plan of Ayutla, which would deposed Santa Anna from the power.
