| Parker didn't say anything but ran up the stairs to retrieve the blanket. Max took a deep breath and then yelled for Zan. "ZAN!" he yelled up the stairs. "Yeah, Dad what is it?" the ten-year-old dark haired boy appeared at the top of the stairs. "Why are you pulling your sister's hair. I mean come on your old enough to know that we don't tolerate that stuff in this house. Your her oldest brother, be nice to her. She looks up to you." Max lectured. "But Dad..." he was cut off. "I don't wanna hear it. Pulling her hair?! Come on I know that she may bother you sometimes but she's your little sister. It's her job. Don't do stuff like that. If she's really annoying you, come talk to your mother or me. Don't take matters into your own hands ALRIGHT!" he lectured sternly. Zan's head dropped down as he suddenly found his feet incredibly interesting. "Okay, I'm sorry, I'll try to be better about that." he replied guiltily, not making eye contact with his father. "That's all I ask but... know this, if I hear anything like this again you will be punished. Got it?" he warned. "Got it." Zan agreed. "Okay." Max said and then collapsed in an armchair. Zan walked back into his room. Rubbing his hand over his face wearily Max said tiredly to Liz "Good thing were not having any more kids tonight." Liz laughed and settled herself on Max's lap. "Okay..." she started in "Claudia is at the movies with some friends. Isabel, Jesse and Alex2 are coming over for dinner tonight. Isabel needs to talk to you about something." "About what?" Max asked curiously and wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer to him. "I would tell you but I think it's something that she needs to explain. All I ask Max, is that you hear her out and try to look into whatever she has to say okay?" she pleaded gently. "Alright. Is it bad though?" he questioned. "Not sure. You'll have to decide for yourself." Liz replied running her fingers thru Max's thick, soft, dark brown hair. "That's really reassuring." Max said sarcastically. Liz smiled and replied "Relax babe, it's not terrible." "Ok, ok." he relented and relaxed a little. |
