| Isabel was sobbing quietly. She had held off on it as long as possible. Being the person she was she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry. When Max and Michael threw him out though, she broke down. But the two women whom she had grown incredibly close to over the years were right there for her. Comforting her. Max and Michael came back into the room. The first thing Max did was drop to his knees in front of Isabel and pulled her into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry Isabel." Max sympathized. "He didn't deserve you." he added fiercely. Isabel just cried harder, soaking Max's shirt with tears. Max didn't care. "It's alright Isabel, I'm here." he soothed. When Isabel's sobs quieted and eventually stopped. Max released her gently and helped her stand. Her face was red and blotchy. Tear stains were evident. All the adults were quiet feeling sorry for Isabel. "You're staying here tonight." Max stated rather then questioned. Liz nodded in agreement and Isabel sighed heavily. "Thank you. I don't know what I would do without you big brother." "And you'll never have to. Go to bed. Liz and I'll will put Alex2 to bed for you." Max pushed her gently towards the stairs. Liz took her hand and pulled her slightly. "Come on. I have to put the sheets on the guest bed." she said. Isabel let Liz lead her up the stairs. She was still in a daze. her mind wasn't fully comprehending everything that had just happened. Max turned back to Michael and Maria. "I think were gonna wait a while before doing the connection with Alex2 okay?" "Yeah sure Max no problem." Michael replied agreeing that this was not the best time. "But....." Michael hated bringing it up but it had to be known. "What about Jesse, I mean he could turn us in." "OMIGOD!" Maria gasped. "He could do that! What are we gonna do Michael! Max, God, Max what are we gonna do? He's gonna turn us in to the FBI and then...then there gonna take our kids then you then me and were all going to die......." Maria panicked in a way that only Maria could. "BABE!" Michael said loudly and Maria stopped to breathe. "It's not going to happen okay. I'll take care of it. I'll protect you and our sons alright? Trust me." Michael wrapped his arms around her. Having kids softened up Michael's rough exterior even though he still had trouble expressing his emotions sometimes. Maria relaxed in his arms and enjoyed the feeling of being comforted and protected by Michael. "Maria. Nothing will happen. We scared him into keeping quiet for now. Besides I know for a fact that Jesse cares for Alex2 so he wouldn't turn him in. But I'll keep an eye on him. We're going to be fine." Max reassured both Maria and Michael. |
