Beth McCaw

Beth McCaw has served as Pastor to Students and Instructor in Ministry at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary since 2004. At Dubuque she coordinates chapel worship, counsels, provides for spiritual nurture and fellowship, and teaches in the areas of spiritual formation and short-term mission. Beth is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Prior to being called to Dubuque Seminary she served as Associate Pastor of Care and Outreach at Faith Presbyterian in Tallahassee, Florida, as a church planting missionary in Namibia, Africa with husband Scott, and as a crisis counselor with Northeastern Family Institute. Beth and Scott are the parents of Bobby, Tim and Evangeline.

Everyone, Everywhere: Equipping Members for Short-Term Missions and More

In the past decade, the number of individuals, groups and congregations engaging in short-term mission (STM) has grown exponentially. The mixed results of this movement speak to the perils and possibilities of STM as it is being developed today. An approach to STM with theological, ecclesiological and missiological integrity can help missioners avoid common mistakes of the past and make fresh and useful offerings in mission. This workshop will explore how a local congregation can so anchor a short-term mission ministry and then effectively prepare and lead STM teams in partnership with the wider church.
