Supposedly, Madonna's first self-titled album was to be called "Lucky Star" and this is supposedly the original art work according to Hard Rock Cafe and their website. The artwork and title were apparently scrapped....the reason, we don't know, but if you look right you can catch a glimpse of and early glamorous Madonna.......

There is a version of Madonna's single "Holiday" with the same picture cover as Madonna's first album (right) if you are lucky enough to find yourself a copy. "Holiday" was Madonna's first big dance hit in 1983 and then a re-release in 1984. It is the longest running track on this 8-piece classic. "Burning Up", "Lucky Star", "Borderline", "Holiday" and the very first Madonna-only collaboration and her very first single release in USA, "Everybody" all feature on Madonna's first album.....the album was re-released in 1984 (like "Holiday") and was re-titled "The First Album", with a different picture cover.....

This is the RARE and beautiful cover for the Australian version of "Borderline" - Triple Mix...this cover is very hard to find, could be sitting in your collection at home and worth quite a bit of money! Released in 1984, back cover features another picture of Madonna from same era.
Left, is "Holiday" the 12" Australian cover that seems to be just as RARE as "Borderline"...also featured is the wonderful back cover of the 12" only released Down Under in this special bright pink sleeve.
