He was the son of James Marsh and Betsy Blundy. He married Annie Elizabeth Ward on 31.7.1899. He was a Blacksmith, and moved to Gainsborough from South Lincolnshire with his family. After his marriage to Annie he lived in the tiny cottage of his wife’s Uncle at Pilham. There, they had two children, and then he set up in business repairing bikes. He then expanded and ran the business of Agricultural Engineers,wheelwrights and joiners, blacksmith and undertakers until his death. He had a house built in 1911. He was the special constable at Pilham from 1906 to 1928. He was also my Grandfather. |
