James Peatfield

He was the son of William Peatfield and Hannah Burns.

James was born in Crumpsall Workhouse, Manchester. From the official sources we have learned that the records were destroyed during the war. If anybody can give us any information we would be grateful.

He lied about his age to get into the army during the First World War and served in the Lancashire Fusiliers (Bantam).

In 1921 he married Edith Goring.

He worked as a carriage cleaner for L.N.E.R and British Rail for many years up to his death.
